The Book on Food · Narrated by Abdul A'ala bin 'Abdul A'ala al-Sami عبد الأعلى بن عبد الأعلى البصري السامي, Abdullah bin Mua'wiya عبد الله بن معاوية بن موسى, Aisha bint Abi Bakr, al-Qasim ibn Muhammad القاسم بن محمد بن أبي بكر الصديق, Hisham bin Hassan al-Azdi هشام بن حسان الأزدي القردوسي, Mahdi bin Maymun al-Azdi مهدي بن ميمون الأزدي المعولي, Muhammad bin Bashar Bindar محمد بن بشار بندار, Muslim bin Yasar al-Masri al-Tanbadhi مسلم بن يسار المصري أبو عثمان الطنبذي

That the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Indeed the blessing descends to the middle of the food, so eat from its edges, and do not eat from its middle.” This Hadith is Hasan Sahih. It is only known through the narration of ‘Ata’ bin As-Sa’ib. Shu’bah and Ath-Thawri reported from ‘Ata’ bin As-Sa’ib. There is something about this topic from Ibn ‘Umar.

“I had a dream while sleeping as if there were two gold bracelets in my hands which bothered me very much. So it was reveled to me to blow them off. I blew them off and they flew away. I interpreted thwm to be two liars who would appear after me. One of them caled Masalamah of Yamamah, and (the other) Al-‘ansi of San’a’.” (sahih)

“I used to visit Ibn Mas’ud every Thursday afternoon but he never uttered the words: ‘The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said.’ Then one evening, he said: ‘The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said,’ then he let his head hang down.” He said: “I looked at him and saw his shirt was unfastened; his eyes were filled with tears, and his veins were bulging out (with fear). He said:’ Or more than that, or less than that, or close to that or something similar.'”
