Sunan al-Nasa'i — The Book of Hajj

he cut the hair of the Prophet with the edge of an arrow during his Umrah at Al-Marwah.

“The Messenger of Allah cursed the one who consumes Riba, the one who pays it, the one who writes it down and the one who witnesses it; the woman who does tattoos and the woman who has that done”- he said: “Unless it is done as a remedy;” he said: “Yes”- “the man who married a woman in order to divorce her so that she may go back to her first husband and the man (the first husband) for whom that is done; and the one who withholds Sadaqah (Zakah). And he used to forbid wailing (in mourning), but he did not say ‘cursed'”

Fara’ was the first animal born to them (the Arabs) which they sacrificed.

I brought my son to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) while I had compressed his uvula for its swelling. He said : Why do you afflict your children by squeezing for a swelling in the Uvula ? Apply this Indian aloes wood, for it contain seven types of remedies, among them being a remedy for pleurisy. It is applied through the nose for a swelling of the uvula poured into the side of the mouth for pleurisy. Abu Dawud said : By aloes wood he meant costus.

We asked Anas b. Malik: Which cloth was dearer to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) ? or Which cloth did the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) like best to wear ? He replied: The striped cloaks (hibrah).

The Prophet was asked about musk and he said: “It is the best of your perfumes.”

That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “If it were not that dogs were part of a nation among the nations, then I would order to that all of them be killed. So kill every one of them that is all black.”

“A man sought permission to enter upon the Messenger of Allah while I was with him, so he said: ‘What an evil son of his tribe, or brother of his tribe.’ Then he admitted him and spoke with him. When he left, I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah! You said what you said about him. Then you talked politely with him?’ He said: ‘O ‘Aishah! Indeed among the evilest of people are those whom the people avoid, or who the people leave, fearing his filthy speech.'”

The Prophet did ablution washing each part three times.

Salim said: “My father read to me a letter that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) had written about Sadaqat before Allah caused him to pass away. I read in it: ‘For forty sheep, one sheep, up to one hundred and twenty. If there is more than that – even one – then two sheep, up to two hundred, If there is one more than that – even one = then three sheep, up to three hundred. If there are many sheep, then for each hundred, one sheep.’ And I read in it: ‘Separate flocks should not be combined, and a combined flock should not be separated.’ And I read in it: ‘And a male goat should not be taken for Sadaqah, nor a decrepit nor defective animal.’ ”

the Prophet saw traces of yellow perfume on ‘Abdur-Rahmaan bin ‘Awf, and he asked him “What is this?” He said: “O Messenger of Allah, I married a women for the weight of a Nawah (Stone) of gold. He said: “May Allah bless you. Give a feast even if it is only with one sheep.”

“The neighbor has more right to preemption of his neighbor, so let him wait for him even if he is absent, if they share a path.”

the case of a man who had intercourse with the slave woman of his wife was referred to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and he did not stipulate any legal punishment for him.

“Abu Talhah told me that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) performed Hajj and ‘Umrah together (Qiran).”

“The Prophet (ﷺ) did not forbid (eating) mastigures, but he found that distasteful. It is the food of most shepherds, and Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, has benefited more than one person thereby. If I had some I would eat it.” Another chain reports a similar hadith.

“If anyone of you, when he stops to camp (while on a journey), says A’udhu bi kalimatil-lahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq (I seek refuge in the Perfect Words of Allah from the evil of that which He has created), then nothing will harm him in that place until he moves on.”

“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘None of you truly believes until I am more beloved to him than his child, his father and all the people.'”
