Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, “If anyone of you goes to an open space for answering the call of nature he should neither face nor turn his back towards the Qibla; he should either face the east or the west.”
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “While defecating, neither face nor turn your back to the Qibla but face either east or west.” Abu Aiyub added. “When we arrived in Sham we came across some lavatories facing the Qibla; therefore we turned ourselves while using them and asked for Allah’s forgiveness.”
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) offered the Maghrib and `Isha’ prayers together at Al-Muzdalifa.
It was said” “O Allah’s Messenger! Inform me of a deed which will make me enter Paradise.” (continues through a different chain in the next hadith)
The Prophet (ﷺ) stopped for a while and cast a glance upon his companions and then said: He was afforded a good opportunity (or he had been guided well). He (the Holy Prophet) addressing the bedouin said: (Repeat) whatever you have uttered. He (the bedouin) repeated that. Upon this the Apostle (ﷺ) remarked: The deed which can draw you near to Paradise and take you away from Hell is, that you worship Allah and associate none with Him, and you establish prayer and pay Zakat, and do good to your kin. After having uttered these words, the Prophet asked the bedouin to release the nosestring of his she-camel.
The Apostle of Allah (ﷺ) said: Whenever you go to the desert, neither turn your face nor turn your back towards the Qibla while answering the call of nature, but face towards the east or the west. Abu Ayyub said: When we came to Syria we found that the latrines already built there were facing towards the Qibla. We turned our faces away from them and begged forgiveness of the Lord. He said: Yes.
He who observed the fast of Ramadan and then followed it with six (fasts) of Shawwal. it would be as if he fasted perpetually.
I heard Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) saying like this.
A journey undertaken in the morning or evening (for Jihad) in the way of Allah is better than (anything) on which the sun rises or sets.
No, but I do not like it because of its odour. He (Abu Ayyub Ansiri) said: Then I also do not like what you do not like.
The tribes of Ansar, Muzaina and Juhaina and Ghifar and Ashja’ and those from Banu ‘Abdullah, they are my friends amongst the people and Allah and His Messenger are their protectors.
It is not permissible for a Muslim to have estranged relations with his brother beyond three nights, the one turning one way and the other turning the other way when they meet; the better of the two is one who is the first to give a greeting.
If you were not to commit sins, Allah would have swept you out of existence and would have replaced you by another people who have committed sin, and then asked forgiveness from Allah, and He would have granted them pardon.
” Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) went out after the sun had set and he heard some sound and said: It is the Jews who are being tormented in their graves.
‘The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah upon him, said…’, ‘the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah upon him, said…’. Then it seemed that Ibn Abbās was not listening to his Ḥadīth and not reflecting on them, so said: ‘Oh Ibn Abbās, why is it that I see you not listening to my Ḥadīth? I narrate to you on authority of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah upon him, however you are not listening’. Ibn Abbās said: ‘Indeed once upon a time we would listen to a man saying, ‘the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah upon him, said…’ rushing towards him with our eyes and harkening towards him with our ears; then when the people took the difficult and the docile we no longer took from people except those whom we knew’.
“By Allah, I do not know what I should do with these Karais (toilets). The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘When any one of you goes to defecate or urinate, let him not face toward the Qiblah, nor turn his back towards it.”
“Do not face towards the Qiblah nor turn your backs toward it when defecating or urinating, rather face toward the east or the west.”
“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘When any one of you goes to defecate, let him not face toward the Qiblah, rather let him face towards the east or the west.'”
“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Perform Wudu’ from that which has been altered by fire.'”
“Water is for Water.” That is, water for peforming Ghusl is obligatory when the ejaculation of water (semen) occurs.
“The first thing for which a person will be brought to account on the Day of Resurrection will be his Salah. If it is found to be complete then it will be recorded as complete, and if anything is lacking He will say: ‘Look and see if you can find any voluntary prayers with which to complete what he neglected of his obligatory prayers.’ Then the rest of his deeds will be reckoned in like manner.”
“I heard Abu ‘Amr Ash-Shaibani say: ‘The owner of this house – and he pointed to the house of ‘Abdullah – said: I asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): ‘Which deed is most beloved to Allah, may He be exalted?’ He said: ‘Prayer offered on time, honoring one’s parents, and Jihad in the cause of Allah.'”
“I heard Abu Hurairah say: ‘I came back (from a journey) with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and he heard a man reciting ‘Say: He is Allah, (the) One, Allah-us-Samad (the Self-Sufficient Master). He begets not, nor was He begotten. And there is none equal or comparable unto Him.’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘It is guaranteed.’ We asked him: ‘What, O Messenger of Allah?’ He said: ‘Paradise.'”
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) led them in offering the fear prayer. Some formed a row behind him and some formed a row facing the enemy. He led them in praying one rak’ah, then they moved away and the others came, and he led them in praying one rak’ah, then they got up and each (group) made up the other rak’ah.
“I was with the Prophet (ﷺ) and he got up and performed wudu, cleaned his teeth while reciting this verse until he finished: ‘Verily, in the creation of the heavens and the Earth, and in the alternation of night and day, there are indeed signs for men of understanding.’ Then he prayed two rak’ahs, then he went back and slept until I heard him breathing deeply. Then he got up and performed wudu and cleaned his teeth. Then he prayed two rak’ahs, then he slept, then he got up and performed wudu and cleaned his teeth and prayed two rak’ahs and prayed witr with three rak’ahs.”
“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) woke up and cleaned his teeth,’ and he quoted the hadith.
“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to pray eight rak’ahs at night and pray witr with three, and pray two rak’ahs before Fajr.”
“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to pray witr with thirteen rak’ahs, and when he grew older and weaker he prayed witr with nine.”
“The plague, abdominal illness, drowning and dying in childbirth are martyrdom.” (One of the narrators) said: Abu ‘Uthman narrated this to us several times, and on one occasion he attributed it to the Prophet.
on the eveing of Arafat and on the morning of Jam (Al-Muzdalifah), when they departed, the Messenger of Allah said to the people: “You must be tranquil,” and was reining in his she-came. Then, when he was in Muhassir, which is part of Mina, he said: “You have to look for pebbles the size of date stones of fingertips,” with which to stone the Jamrat. And the Messenger of Allah continued to recite the Talbiyah until he stoned Jamrat Al-Aqabah.
“The dust in the cause of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, and the smoke of Hell will never be combined in the nostrils of a Muslim.”
Ibn ‘Abbas was asked about someone who killed a believer deliberately, then he repented, believed and did righteous deeds, and followed true guidance. Ibn ‘Abbas said: “There is no way the repentance could avail him! I heard the Prophet say: ‘He (the victim) will come hanging onto his killer, with his jugular veins flowing with blood and saying: O Lord, ask him why he killed me. Then he said: By Allah, Allah revealed it and never abrogated anything of it.'”
“The Messenger of Allah said: ‘Whoever obeys me, obeys Allah, and whoever disobeys me, disobeys Allah. Whoever obeys my governor (Amir), he has obeyed me, and whoever disobeys my governor, he has disobeyed me.”‘
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: Do not fast on Saturday except what has been made obligatory on you; and if one of you can get nothing but a grape skin or a piece of wood from a tree, he should chew it.
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) made a brotherhood between two men, one of whom was killed (in Allah’s path), and a week or thereabouts later the other died, and we prayed at his funeral). The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) asked: What did you say? We replied: We prayed for him and said: O Allah, forgive him, and join him to his companion. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: What about his prayers since the time the other died, and his fasting since the time the other died–the narrator Shu’bah doubted the words, “his fasting–and his deeds since the time the other died. The distance between them is just like the distance between heaven and earth.
When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) finished his food, he said: “Praise be to Allah Who has given us food and drink and made us Muslims.”
Something of her was stolen, and she began to curse him (i.e. the thief). The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to her: Do not lessen his sin.
Allah’s Messenger said: “When one of you arrives to defecate, then let none of you face the Qiblah while defecating, nor while urinating. And do not have your back towards it, but have it east of you or west of you.”
the Messenger of Allah said: “Whoever fasts Ramadan, then follows it with six from Shawwal, then that is (equal in reward) to fasting everyday.”
The Messenger of Allah said: “The believer’s soul is suspended by his debt until it is settled for him.”
“The Prophet (ﷺ) prohibited studding the stallion.” There are narrations on this topic from Abu Hurairah, Anas, and Abu Sa’eed. The Hadith is Ibn ‘Umar is a Hasan Sahih Hadith. This is acted upon according to some of the people of knowledge. There are those who made concession for accepting an honorarium for that.
That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Whoever swears about an oath and says: ‘If Allah wills (Insha Allah), then there is no breaking of the oath against him.”
” The Messenger of Allah used to mingle with us such that he said to my younger brother: ‘O Abu ‘Umair! What did the Nughair do?'”
that a man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) looking for a mount, he said: ‘Mine has been ruined.’ So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Go to so-and-so.’ So he went to him and he gave him a mount. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Whoever leads to good, then for him is the same reward as the one who does it – or – who acts upon it.'”
that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Do not turn your houses into graves. Indeed Ash-Shaitan does not enter the house in which Surat Al-Baqarah is recited.”
that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): “For everything there is a hump (pinnacle) and the hump (pinnacle) of the Qur’an is Surat Al-Baqarah, in it there is an Ayah which is the master of the Ayat in the Qur’an; Ayat Al-Kursi.”
from his father that ‘Ali bin Abi Talib said: “There is no Ayah in the Qur’an more beloved to me than this Ayah: Verily Allah forgives not associating others with Him, but He forgives what is less than that for whomever He wills (4:116).”
“O you people! You recite this Ayah: Take care of yourselves! If you follow the guidance no harm shall come to you from those who are astray (5:105). I indeed heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying: ‘When the people see the wrongdoer, and they do not stop him (from doing wrong), then it is soon that Allah shall envelope you in a punishment from Him.'”
Abu Sa’ib, the freed slave of Hisham bin Zuhrah, told him that he heard Abu Hurairah say: “The Messenger of Allah said: ‘No one of you should bathe in standing water when he is sexually impure.'” He (Abu Sa’ib) said: “What should he do, O Abu Hurairah?” He said: “Let him take some out (and pour it over himself).”
“The Messenger of Allah set the time for postnatal bleeding at forty days, except for one who becomes pure before that.”
“The Messenger of Allah said: ‘Whoever hears the Adhan when he is in the mosque, then goes out and does not go out for any (legitimate) need and does not intend to return, is a hypocrite.'”
“The Messenger of Allah said: ‘A man’s prayer in congregation is twenty-some levels higher than his prayer in his house or in the marketplace.'”
“I heard ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amir bin Rabi’ah narrating from his father that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “There is no Muslim who sends peace and blessings upon me, but the angels will send peace and blessings upon him as long as he sends peace and blessings upon me. So let a person do a little of that or a lot.”
“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say the Salam to his right and to his left, until the whiteness of his cheek could be seen (saying): ‘As-salamu ‘alaikum wa rahmatullah, as-salamu ‘alaikum wa rahmatullah.’”
“When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went out from this city (Al-Madinah) he did not perform more than two Rak’ah for prayer until he returned.”
“ ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud said: ‘Whoever follows a funeral (procession), let him carry all (four) corners of it (in turn), for that is Sunnah. Then if he wishes let him voluntarily carry it, and if he wishes let him not do so.’”
“When Qasim the son of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) died, Khadijah said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, the milk of Qasim’s mother is overflowing. Would that Allah had let him live until he had finished breastfeeding.’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘He will complete his breastfeeding in Paradise.’ She said: ‘If I know that, O Messenger of Allah, it makes it easier for me to bear.’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘If you wish, I will pray to Allah to let you hear his voice.’ She said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, rather I believe Allah and His Messenger.’”
“When the following was revealed: ‘But if you desire Allah and His Messenger, (ﷺ) the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) entered upon me and said: ‘O Aishah I want to say something to you, and you do not have to hasten (in making a decision) until you have consulted your parents.”‘ She said: “He knew, by Allah, that my parents would never tell me to leave him.” She said: “Then he recited to me: ‘ O Prophet (Muhammad)! Say to your wives: ” If you desire the life of this world, and its glitter.'” I said: ‘Do I need to consult my parents about this? I choose Allah and His Messenger.”‘
“If a man’s property is targeted, and he is fought and fights back and is killed, he is a martyr.”
“Nabidh would be made for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and he would drink it on the same day, or the next day, or the third day, and if there was any left he would throw it away or give orders that it was to be thrown away.”
