Then he told him to do that when the last part of the sun had dissapeared, and he said the Iqamah for Maghrib. Then he told him to do that when the twilight had disappeared and he said the Iqamah for ‘Isha’. The following day, he prayed Fajr when there was light, then he delayed Zuhr until it was cooler, and waited until it was much cooler before praying ‘Asr but the sun was still clear, so he prayed ‘Asr later than on the first day. Then he prayed Maghrib before the twilight disappeared. Then he told him to say the Iqamah for ‘Isha’ when one-third of the night had passed, and he prayed, then he said: ‘Where is the one who was asking about the times of prayer? The times of your prayer are between the times you have seen.'”

As-salamu ‘alaina wa ‘ala ‘ibad illahis-salihin, ashahdu an la illaha ill-Allah wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan ‘abduhu wa rasuluhu (Allah compliments, prayers and pure words are due to Allah. The sun turned black, and we said to one another, let us go to the masjid, for by Allah (SWT) this must herald some event concerning the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and his ummah. We went to the masjid and we saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) coming out to the people. He went forward and prayed. He stood for the longest time that he had ever stood in any prayer in which he led us, but we did not hear him saying anything. Then he bowed for the longest time that he had ever bowed in any prayer in which he led us, but we did not hear him saying anything. Then he prostrated for the longest time that he had ever prostrated in any prayer in which he led us, but we did not hear him saying anything. The he did likewise in the second rak’ah. And the eclipse ended as he was sitting at the end of the second rak’ah. He said: I swear by Allah, I asked the one who was well informed about it; I asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about it. He said: No, enjoin one another to do what is good and forbid one another to do what is evil. But when you see niggardliness being obeyed, passion being followed, worldly interests being preferred, everyone being charmed with his opinion, then care for yourself, and leave alone what people in general are doing; for ahead of you are days which will require endurance, in which showing endurance will be like grasping live coals. The one who acts rightly during that period will have the reward of fifty men who act as he does. Another version has: He said (The hearers asked:) Messenger of Allah, the reward of fifty of them? He replied: The reward of fifty of you.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) then said: They should either pay the bloodwit for you friend or they should be prepared for war. So the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) wrote to them about it. They wrote (in reply): We swear by Allah, we have not killed him. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) then said to Huwayyasah, Muhayyasah and ‘Abd al-Rahman: Will you take an oath and thus have the claim to the blood of your friend ? Be calmm.’ Then he came to Jama and performed the two Salat there combined. When the morning came, he went to Quzah and stood there and said: ‘This is Quzah, and it is a place of standing, and all of Jama is a place for standing.’ Then he departed until he arrived at Wadi Muhassir. Then he stuck his she-camel and she trotted until he passed the valley. Then he stopped and took Al-Fadl as a companion rider and went to the Jamrah to stone it. Then he went to Al-Manhar and said: ‘This is Al-Manhar, and all of Mina is a place for sacrifice.’ A young girl from Khath’am came to ask him for a verdict, she said: ‘Indeed my father is an elderly man who has lived until Allah has made Hajj obligatory, so would he be rewarded if I perform Hajj for him? He said: ‘Perform Hajj for your father.'” He said: “And he turned the neck of Al Fadl. So Al-Abbas said: ‘O Messenger of Allah! I performed (Tawaf) Al-Ifadah before shaving.’ He said: ‘Shave, and there is no harm'” – or: ‘Clip and there is no harm'” He said: “Someone else came and said: ‘O Messenger of Allah! He said: ‘Does anyone eat badger?’ So I asked him about eating wolf’ He said: ‘Does anyone who has any good in him eat wolf?'” The chain for this Hadith is not strong. We do not know of it except as a narration of Isma’il bin Muslim from ‘Abdul-Karim Abi Umayyah. Some of the people of Hadith have criticized Isma’il and ‘Abdul Karim Abi Umayyah. And he is ‘Abdul-Karim bin Qais, who is Ibn Abi Al-Mukhariq. While ‘Abdul-Karim bin Malik Al-Jazari is trustworthy.

This is more correct than the first narration. I heard Ishaq bin Mansur saying: “Ahmad bin Hanbal, ‘Ali bin AlMadini, and Ishaq bin Ibrãhim reported this Hadith from ‘AbdurRazzaq, from Yunus bin Sulaim, from Yunus bin Yazid from AzZuhri.” Only those who heard from ‘Abdur-Razzaq early mentioned in it: “From Yunus bin Yazid”, while some of them did not mention in it: “From Yunus bin Yazid.” And whoever mentioned “From Yunus bin Yazid” then he was more correct. Sometimes ‘Abdur-Razzaq would mention Yunus bin Yazid in this Hadith and sometimes he would not mention him. .

“When they wanted to dig a grave for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), they sent for Abu ‘Ubaidah bin Jarrah, who used to dig graves in the manner of the people of Makkah, and they sent for Abu Talhah, who used to dig graves for the people of Al-Madinah, and he used to make a niche in the grave. They sent two messengers to both of them, and they said: ‘O Allah, choose what is best for Your Messenger.’ They found Abu Talhah and brought him, but they did not find Abu ‘Ubaidah. So he dug a grave with a niche for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). When they had finished preparing him, on Tuesday, he was placed on his bed in his house. Then the people entered upon the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) in groups and offered the funeral prayer for him, and when they finished the women entered, and when they finished the children entered, and no one led the people in offering the funeral prayer for the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). The Muslims differed concerning the place where he should be buried. Some said that he should be buried in his mosque. Others said that he should be buried with his Companions. Then Abu Bakr said: ‘I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: “No Prophet ever passed away but he was buried where he died.” So they lifted up the bed of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) on which he had died, and dug the grave for him, then he (ﷺ) was buried in the middle of Tuesday night. ‘Ali bin Abu Talib, Fadl bin ‘Abbas and his brother Qutham, and Shuqran the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went down in his grave. Aws bin Khawli, who was Abu Laila, said to ‘Ali bin Abi Talib: ‘I adjure you by Allah! Give us our share of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).’ So ‘Ali said to him: ‘Come down.’ Shuqran, his freed slave, had taken a Qatifah which the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to wear. He buried it in his grave and said, ‘By Allah, no one will ever wear it after you.’ So it was buried with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).”
“When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) suffered the agonies of death that he suffered, Fatimah said: ‘O my father, what a severe agony!’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Your father will suffer no more agony after this day. There has come to your father that which no one can avoid, the death that everyone will encounter until the Day of Resurrection.’”
“I asked Ibn ‘Umar about a man who divorced his wife when she was menstruating. He said: ‘Do you know ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar? He divorced his wife when she was menstruating then ‘Umar came to the Prophet (ﷺ) (and told him what had happened). He ordered him to take her back.’ I said: ‘Will that be counted (as a divorce)?’ He said: ‘Do You think he was helpless and behaving foolishly? .”‘
“At the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) we used to be called brokers, but the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) passed by us and called by a name that was better than that. He said: ‘O merchants, selling involves (false) oaths and idle talk, so mix some charity with it.”‘
“There was a man living among our dwellings who had a physical defect, and to our astonishment he was seen with one of the slave women of the dwellings, committing illegal sex with her. Sa’d bin ‘Ubadah referred his case to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), who said: ‘Give him one hundred lashes.’ They said: ‘O Prophet (ﷺ) of Allah (ﷺ), he is too weak to bear that. If we give him one hundred lashes he will die.’ He said: “Then take a branch with a hundred twigs and hit him once.” Another chain reports a similar hadith.
“The pilgrims performing Hajj and ‘Umrah are a delegation to Allah. If they call upon Him, He will answer them; and if they ask for His forgiveness, He will forgive them.”
“The Messenger of Allah said on the Day of Quraizah: ‘Who will bring us news of the people?’ Zubair said: ‘I will.’ The Prophet said: ‘Who will bring us news of the people?’ Zubair said: ‘I will,’ three times. Every Prophet has a Hawari (sincere supporter or disciple) and my Hawari is Zubair.'”
