The Book of Seeking Refuge with Allah · Narrated by Abdullah bin Burayda bin al-Husayb عبد الله بن بريدة بن الحصيب الأسلمي, al-Husain bin Dhakwan al-Mua'lam الحسين بن ذكوان المعلم المكتب, Amr bin 'Ali bin Bahr al-Bahli عمرو بن علي بن بحر الباهلي, Bashyr bin Ka'b bin Aby بشير بن كعب بن أبي, Shadad bin Aus bin Thabit, Yazid bin Zari' يزيد بن زريع

The Prophet said: “Seek refuge with Allah from the punishment of Allah, seek refuge with Allah from the trials of life and death, from the torment of the grave and from the tribulation of the Al-Masihid-Dajjal.”

I intended to go (on expedition) to Khaybar. So I came to the Holy Prophet (ﷺ), greeted him and said: I am intending to go to Khaybar. He said: When you come to my agent, you should take from him fifteen wasqs (of dates). If he asks you for a sign, then place your hand on his collar-bone.

“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) passed judgement based on an oath along with one witness.” Rabi’ah (one of the narrators) said: “A son of Ibn Sa’d bin ‘Ubadah informed me saying: ‘We found in a book of Sa’d that the Prophet (ﷺ) passed judgement based on an oath along with a witness.'”
