## Hadith #972

**Book:** Witr Prayer | **Narrator(s):** Sa'id bin Yasar, Abu al-Hubab سعيد بن يسار أبو الحباب | **Grade:** Sahih

I was going to Mecca in the company of `Abdullah bin `Umar and when I apprehended the approaching dawn, I dismounted and offered the witr prayer and then joined him. `Abdullah bin `Umar said, “Where have you been?” I replied, “I apprehended the approaching dawn so I dismounted and prayed the witr prayer.” `Abdullah said, “Isn’t it sufficient for you to follow the good example of Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ)?” I replied, “Yes, by Allah.” He said, “Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) used to pray witr on the back of the camel (while on a journey).”

## Hadith #1510

**Book:** The Book of Prayer - Travellers | **Narrator(s):** Sa'id bin Yasar, Abu al-Hubab سعيد بن يسار أبو الحباب | **Grade:** Sahih

I was travelling along with Ibn ‘Umar on the way to Mecca. Sa’id said: When I apprehended dawn, I dismounted (the ride) and observed Witr prayer and then again joined him. Ibn ‘Umar said to me: Where were you? I said: I apprehended the appearance of dawn, so I dismounted and observed Witr prayer. Upon this ‘Abdullah said: Is there not a model pattern for you in the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)? I said: Yes, by Allah, and (then) he said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to observe Witr prayer on the camel’s back.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “The one who learns the Quran is like the owner of a hobbled camel. If he pays attention to it, he will keep it, but if he releases it, it will go away.”

“Bilal brought some Bami dates to the Messenger of Allah and he said: ‘What is this? ‘He said: ‘I bought a Sa of them for two Sas. The Messenger of Allah said: “O! The essence of Riba, do not approach it.”‘

“The Prophet  used to say in his supplication: ‘Allahumma inni a’udhu bika minal-kasali, wal-harami, wal-jubni, wal-bukhli, wa fitnatid-dajjali, wa ‘adhabil-qabr (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from laziness, old age, cowardice, miserliness, the tribulation of the Dajjal and the torment of the grave.)”

When the Messenger of Allah  supplicated, he would say: “Allahumma inni a’udhu bika minal-hammi, wal-hazani, wal-‘ajzi, wal-kasali, wal-bukhli, wal-jubni, wad-dala’id-daini, wa ghalabatir-rijal (O Allah, I seek refuge with You from worry, grief, incapacity, laziness, miserliness, cowardice, difficult debt and being overpowered by men.)”

“I was with Ibn Umar on a journey and I fell behind him. He said: ‘Where were you?’ I said: ‘I prayed Al-Witr.’ He said: ‘Is there not a good exampled for you in Allah’s Messenger? I saw Allah’s Messenger performing Al-Witr on his mount.'”

the Messenger of Allah said: “None gives charity from Tayyib – and Allah does not accept but Tayyib – but that Ar-Rahman accepts it with His Right (Hand). Even if it is a date, it is nurtured in the Hand of Ar-Rahman until it is greater than a mountain, just as one of you nurtures his foal or young camel.”

“I was a servant of the Prophet, and Hasan and Husain was brought to him and (the infant) urinated on his chest. They wanted to wash it, but the Messenger of Allah said: ‘Sprinkle water on it, for the urine of a girl should be washed, but the urine of a boy should be sprinkled over with water.'”

“We find (mention of) the prayer of the resident and the prayer in a state of fear in the Qur’an, but we do not find any mention of the prayer of the traveler. ‘Abdullah said to him: “Allah sent Muhammad (ﷺ) to us, and we did not know anything, rather we do what we saw Muhammad (ﷺ) doing.”

“When two men enter into a transaction, each of them has the choice (of annulling it) so long as they have not yet parted and are still together, or one of them has given the option or choice to the other. Once he has accepted the terms of the other, then the transaction is binding. If they part after concluding the transaction and neither of them has rescinded the transaction then the transaction is binding.”
