Sahih al-Bukhari — Companions of the Prophet

Ali said (to the people of ‘Iraq), “Judge as you used to judge, for I hate differences (and I do my best ) till the people unite as one group, or I die as my companions have died.”

“A Bedouin urinated in the Masjid, and the Prophet (ﷺ) ordered that a bucket (be brought) and poured over it.”

A similar Hadith was narrated from Al-A’mash with the same chain.

“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Give me the mat from the MAsjid.’ She said: ‘I am menstruating.’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Your menstruation is not in your hand.'”

“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Allah loves concealment, so when any one of you performs Ghusl let him conceal himself with something.'”

“I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: ‘He will never enter the Fire, the one who prays before the sun rises and before it sets.'”

“Abu Mus’ad said: ‘Shall I not show you how the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) prayed?’ We said: ‘Yes.’ So he stood up and said the takbir, and when he bowed, he held his arms out from his sides until, when every part of him settled, he raised his head. He prayed four rak’ahs like that, and said: ‘This is how I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) praying.'”

That when the Prophet was in Dhul-Hulaifah he ordered that his Budn be marked on the right side of its hump, then he wiped the blood on it and he garlanded it with two shoes, then when it stood up with him Al-baida; he began the Talbiyah.

“While Abu Hurairah and I were with Ibn ‘Abbas, a woman came and said that her husband had died while she was pregnant, then she had given birth less than four months after the day he died. Ibn ‘Abbas said: ‘(You have to wait) for the longer of the two periods.'” Abu Salamah said: “A man from among the Companions of the Prophet told me that Subai’ah Al-Aslamiyyah came to the Messenger of Allah and said that her husband died while she was pregnant, and she gave birth less than four months after he died. The Messenger of Allah told her to get married. Abu Hurairah said: ‘And I bear witness to that.'”

“The Messenger of Allah forbade me to recite Qur’an while bowing and to wear gold and garments dyed with safflower.”

“I heard ‘Ali say: ‘The Messenger of Allah forbade me- but I do not say that he forbade you- from wearing gold rings, Al-Qassi, and garments dyed with safflower, and reciting Qur’an while bowing.'”

“The Messenger of Allah forbade me from rings of gold, garments dyed with safflower, and wearing Al-Qassi, and from reciting Qur’an while bowing.”

“The dregs are what intoxicates.”

“Khamr is so called because it is left until the good parts are gone and the dregs remain.” And he disliked everything that was made by using dregs (by adding new materials to the dregs).

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: That I sit in the company of the people who remember Allah the Exalted from morning prayer till the sun rises is dearer to me than that I emancipate four slaves from the children of Isma`il, and that I sit with the people who remember Allah from afternoon prayer till the sun sets is dearer to me than that I emancipate four slaves.

my companion went to the mosque before me. I went there after him and sat beside him. He asked me: Did you hear the preaching of AbuRayhanah? I said: No. He said: I heard him say: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade ten things: Sharpening the ends of the teeth, tattooing, plucking hair, men sleeping together without an under garment, women sleeping together without an under-garment, men putting silk at the hem of their garments like the Persians, or putting silk on their shoulders like the Persians, plundering, riding on panther skins, wearing signet rings, except in the case of one in authority. Abu Dawud said: The solitary point in this tradition (not supported by other traditions) is the report about the signet-ring.

“We would menstruate during the time of the Messenger of Allah, then when we became pure we were ordered to make up the fasts but we were not ordered to make up the Salat.”

That the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “Whoever swears and says: ‘If Allah wills (Insha Allah), then he will not have broken it.”

“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) proposed to me, but I asked him to excuse me. Then Allah revealed: ‘Verily We have made lawful to you your wives, to whom you have paid their due, and those whom your right hand possess – whom Allah has given to you, and the daughters of your paternal uncles, and the daughters of your paternal aunts, and the daughters of your maternal uncles, and the daughters of your maternal aunts, who migrated with you, and a believing woman if she offers herself to the Prophet… (33:50)’ She said: “So I was not lawful for him because I did not perform Hijrah; I was one of the Tulaqa (those that accepted Islam after the conquest of Makkah).'”

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “I met Ibrahim on the night of my ascent, so he said: ‘O Muhammad, recite Salam from me to your nation, and inform them that Paradise has pure soil and delicious water, and that it is a flat treeless plain, and that its seeds are: “Glory is to Allah (Subḥān Allāh) all praise is due to Allah (Al-ḥamdulillāh) and ‘none has the right to be worshipped but Allah’ (Lā ilāha illallāh), and Allah is the greatest (Allāhu Akbar).”

the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to those sitting with him: “Is one of you incapable of attaining a thousand good deeds?” So a questioner among those seated with him asked him: “How can one of us earn a thousand good deeds?” He said: “(When) one of you recites a hundred Tasbīḥāt a thousand good deeds are written for him, and a thousand evil deeds are wiped away from him.”

“The Messenger of Allah performed ablution and wiped his head twice.”

the Messenger of Allah ruled that the child belonged to the bed.
