## Hadith #1514

**Book:** The Book of Praying for Rain (Al-Istisqa') | **Narrator(s):** al-Laith bin Sa'd الليث بن سعد, Khalid bin Yazid خالد بن يزيد الجمحي الإسكندراني, Qutayba bin Sa'id bin Jamil قتيبة بن سعيد بن جميل, Sa'id bin Abi Hilal سعيد بن أبي هلال الليثي, Umayr Mawla Abi Laham al-Ghafari, Yazid bin 'Abdullah bin al-Shakhayr يزيد بن عبد الله بن الشخير

His paternal uncle had told him that he went out with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) to pray for rain. He turned his rida’ around, and turned his back to the people, then he prayed two rak’ahs and recited loudly.

Hashraj ibn Ziyad reported on the authority of his grandmother that she went out with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) for the battle of Khaybar. They were six in number including herself.
(She said): When the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was informed about it, he sent for us. We came to him, and found him angry.
He said: With whom did you come out, and by whose permission did you come out?
We said: Messenger of Allah, we have come out to spin the hair, by which we provide aid in the cause of Allah. We have medicine for the wounded, we hand arrows (to the fighters), and supply drink made of wheat or barley.
He said: Stand up. When Allah bestowed victory of Khaybar on him, he allotted shares to us from spoils that he allotted to the men. He (Hashraj ibn Ziyad) said: I said to her: Grandmother, what was that? She replied: Dates.

he saw the Messenger of Allah at Ahjar Az-Zait, supplicating for rain, and he was raising his hands in supplication.

That the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Whoever sees the crescent of Dhul-Hijjah, and wants to slaughter a sacrifice he should not take from his hair nor from his nails.”

“Rubai, the paternal aunt of Anas, broke the tooth of a girl and they (her family) asked (the girl’s family) to let her off, but they refused. They offered to pay compensatory money, but they refused. So they came to Prophet (ﷺ) who ordered retaliation. Anas bin Nadr said: ‘O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), will the tooth of Rubai’ be broken? By the One Who sent you with the truth, it will not be broken!’ The Prophet (ﷺ) said: ‘O Anas, what Allah has decreed is retaliation.’ So the people accepted that and forgave her. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘there are among the slaves of Allah those who, if they swear by Allah, Allah fulfills their oath.’”
