Hadith #1347
The Book of Forgetfulness (In Prayer) · Narrated by Amr bin 'Ali bin Bahr al-Bahli عمرو بن علي بن بحر الباهلي, Uthman al-Shham al-Dwy Abu عثمان الشحام العدوي أبو سلمة البصري يقال, Yahya bin Sa'id bin Farroukh al-Qatan يحيى بن سعيد بن فروخ القطان

“A Jewish woman entered unto me and said: ‘The torment of the grave is because of urine.’ I said: ‘You are lying.’ She said: ‘No, it is true; we cut our skin and clothes because of it.’ The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) went out to pray and our voices became loud. He said: ‘What is this?’ So I told him what she had said. He said: ‘She spoke the truth.’ After that day he never offered any prayer but he said, following the prayer: ‘Rabba Jibril wa Mika’il wa Israfil, aiding min harrin-nar wa ‘adhabil-qabr (Lord of Jibril, Mika’il and Israfil, grant me refuge from the heat of the Fire and the torment of the grave).'”

“Some people apostatized after accepting Islam, and ‘Ali burned them with fire. Ibn ‘Abbas said: ‘If it had been me, I would not have burned them; the Messenger of Allah said: ‘Whoever changes his religion, kill him.'”

The Book of Seeking Refuge with Allah · Narrated by Muhammad bin Abi 'Adi محمد بن أبي عدي, Muhammad bin al-Muthna - al-Zaman محمد بن المثنى أبو موسى - الزمن, Uthman al-Shham al-Dwy Abu عثمان الشحام العدوي أبو سلمة البصري يقال

“I said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, teach me a supplication from which I may benefit.’ He said: ‘Say: Allahumma ‘afini min sharri sam’i, wa basari, wa lisani, wa qalbi, wa min sharri mani (O Allah, protect me from the evil of my hearing, my seeing, my tongue and my heart, and from the evil of my sperm.)'” – Meaning sexual organ.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) as saying: The time will become short, knowledge will be decreased, civil strife (fitan) will appear, niggardliness will be case into people’s heart, and harj will be prevalent. He was asked: Messenger of Allah! what is it: He replied: Slaughter, slaughter.

On the day of the conquest of Mecca, Abdullah ibn Sa’d ibn AbuSarh hid himself with Uthman ibn Affan. He brought him and made him stand before the Prophet (ﷺ), and said: Accept the allegiance of Abdullah, Messenger of Allah! He raised his head and looked at him three times, refusing him each time, but accepted his allegiance after the third time. Then turning to his companions, he said: Was not there a wise man among you who would stand up to him when he saw that I had withheld my hand from accepting his allegiance, and kill him? They said: We did not know what you had in your heart, Messenger of Allah! Why did you not give us a signal with your eye? He said: It is not advisable for a Prophet to play deceptive tricks with the eyes.
