“I asked Ibn ‘Abbas, when he was leaning back against the Ka’bah, about Badhaq (a drink made from the juice of grapes slightly boiled). He said: ‘Muhammad came before Badhaq (i.e., it was not known during his time), but everything that intoxicates in unlawful.'” He said: “I was the first of the ‘Arabs to ask him.”

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) gave judgment that blood-wit for those who possessed camels should be one hundred camels, and for those who possessed cattle two hundred cows, and for those who possessed sheep one thousand sheep, and for those who possessed suits of clothing two hundred suits, and for those who possessed wheat something which the narrator Muhammad (ibn Ishaq) did not remember.

“A man asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about lost items. So he said: ‘Make a public announcement about it for one year. Remember its string, its contained, and its sack. Then use it, and if its owner comes then give it to him.’ So he said to him: ‘O Messenger of Allah! What about the stray sheep?’ He said:’Take it, for it is either for you, your brother, or the wolf.’ He said: ‘O Messenger of Allah! What about stray camel?'” He said: “Then the Prophet (ﷺ) got angry until his cheeks became red or his face became red. He said: ‘What concern is it of yours? It has its feet and its water reserve until it reaches its owner.'”

“O people, you eat two plants that I find are nothing but obnoxious; this garlic and this onion. At the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), if a foul odour was detected from a man, I would see him seized by the arm and taken out to Al-Baqi’. Whoever must eat them, let him cook them to death.”

He ordered him to take her back.’ I said: ‘Will that be counted (as a divorce)?’ He said: ‘Do You think he was helpless and behaving foolishly? .”‘
