55 ٱدۡعُوا۟ رَبَّكُمۡ تَضَرُّعࣰا وَخُفۡیَةًۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا یُحِبُّ ٱلۡمُعۡتَدِینَ ۝٥٥ id'ʿū rabbakum taḍarruʿan wakhuf'yatan innahu lā yuḥibbu l-muʿ'tadīn Call on your Lord humbly and privately- He does not like those who transgress His bounds 56 وَلَا تُفۡسِدُوا۟ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ بَعۡدَ إِصۡلَـٰحِهَا وَٱدۡعُوهُ خَوۡفࣰا وَطَمَعًاۚ إِنَّ رَحۡمَتَ ٱللَّهِ قَرِیبࣱ مِّنَ ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِینَ ۝٥٦ walā tuf'sidū fī l-arḍi baʿda iṣ'lāḥihā wa-id'ʿūhu khawfan waṭamaʿan inna raḥmata l-lahi qarībun mina l-muḥ'sinīn do not corrupt the earth after it has been set right- call on Him fearing and hoping. The mercy of God is close to those who do good 57 وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِی یُرۡسِلُ ٱلرِّیَـٰحَ بُشۡرَۢا بَیۡنَ یَدَیۡ رَحۡمَتِهِۦۖ حَتَّىٰۤ إِذَاۤ أَقَلَّتۡ سَحَابࣰا ثِقَالࣰا سُقۡنَـٰهُ لِبَلَدࣲ مَّیِّتࣲ فَأَنزَلۡنَا بِهِ ٱلۡمَاۤءَ فَأَخۡرَجۡنَا بِهِۦ مِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَ ٰتِۚ كَذَ ٰلِكَ نُخۡرِجُ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَذَكَّرُونَ ۝٥٧ wahuwa alladhī yur'silu l-riyāḥa bush'ran bayna yaday raḥmatihi ḥattā idhā aqallat saḥāban thiqālan suq'nāhu libaladin mayyitin fa-anzalnā bihi l-māa fa-akhrajnā bihi min kulli l-thamarāti kadhālika nukh'riju l-mawtā laʿallakum tadhakkarūn It is God who sends the winds, bearing good news of His coming grace, and when they have gathered up the heavy clouds, We drive them to a dead land where We cause rain to fall, bringing out all kinds of crops, just as We shall bring out the dead. Will you not reflect 58 وَٱلۡبَلَدُ ٱلطَّیِّبُ یَخۡرُجُ نَبَاتُهُۥ بِإِذۡنِ رَبِّهِۦۖ وَٱلَّذِی خَبُثَ لَا یَخۡرُجُ إِلَّا نَكِدࣰاۚ كَذَ ٰلِكَ نُصَرِّفُ ٱلۡءَایَـٰتِ لِقَوۡمࣲ یَشۡكُرُونَ ۝٥٨ wal-baladu l-ṭayibu yakhruju nabātuhu bi-idh'ni rabbihi wa-alladhī khabutha lā yakhruju illā nakidan kadhālika nuṣarrifu l-āyāti liqawmin yashkurūn Vegetation comes out of good land in abundance, by the will of its Lord, but out of bad land only scantily: We explain Our Revelations in various ways to those who give thanks

59 لَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا نُوحًا إِلَىٰ قَوۡمِهِۦ فَقَالَ یَـٰقَوۡمِ ٱعۡبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ مَا لَكُم مِّنۡ إِلَـٰهٍ غَیۡرُهُۥۤ إِنِّیۤ أَخَافُ عَلَیۡكُمۡ عَذَابَ یَوۡمٍ عَظِیمࣲ ۝٥٩ laqad arsalnā nūḥan ilā qawmihi faqāla yāqawmi uʿ'budū l-laha mā lakum min ilāhin ghayruhu innī akhāfu ʿalaykum ʿadhāba yawmin ʿaẓīmi We sent Noah to his people. He said, ‘My people, serve God: you have no god other than Him. I fear for you the punishment of a fearsome Day!’

60 قَالَ ٱلۡمَلَأُ مِن قَوۡمِهِۦۤ إِنَّا لَنَرَىٰكَ فِی ضَلَـٰلࣲ مُّبِینࣲ ۝٦٠ qāla l-mala-u min qawmihi innā lanarāka fī ḍalālin mubīni but the prominent leaders of his people said, ‘We believe you are far astray.’ 61 قَالَ یَـٰقَوۡمِ لَیۡسَ بِی ضَلَـٰلَةࣱ وَلَـٰكِنِّی رَسُولࣱ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝٦١ qāla yāqawmi laysa bī ḍalālatun walākinnī rasūlun min rabbi l-ʿālamīn He replied, ‘My people, there is nothing astray about me! On the contrary, I am a messenger from the Lord of all the Worlds 62 أُبَلِّغُكُمۡ رِسَـٰلَـٰتِ رَبِّی وَأَنصَحُ لَكُمۡ وَأَعۡلَمُ مِنَ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٦٢ uballighukum risālāti rabbī wa-anṣaḥu lakum wa-aʿlamu mina l-lahi mā lā taʿlamūn I am delivering my Lord’s messages to you and giving you sincere advice. I know things from God that you do not 63 أَوَعَجِبۡتُمۡ أَن جَاۤءَكُمۡ ذِكۡرࣱ مِّن رَّبِّكُمۡ عَلَىٰ رَجُلࣲ مِّنكُمۡ لِیُنذِرَكُمۡ وَلِتَتَّقُوا۟ وَلَعَلَّكُمۡ تُرۡحَمُونَ ۝٦٣ awaʿajib'tum an jāakum dhik'run min rabbikum ʿalā rajulin minkum liyundhirakum walitattaqū walaʿallakum tur'ḥamūn Do you find it so strange that a message should come from your Lord- through a man in your midst- to warn you and make you aware of God so that you may be given mercy?’
