1 The Opening

بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِیمِ ۝١

In the name of God, the Lord of Mercy, the Giver of Mercy

bis'mi l-lahi l-raḥmāni l-raḥīm

ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝٢

Praise belongs to God, Lord of the Worlds

al-ḥamdu lillahi rabbi l-ʿālamīn

ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِیمِ ۝٣

the Lord of Mercy, the Giver of Mercy

al-raḥmāni l-raḥīm

مَـٰلِكِ یَوۡمِ ٱلدِّینِ ۝٤

Master of the Day of Judgement

māliki yawmi l-dīn

إِیَّاكَ نَعۡبُدُ وَإِیَّاكَ نَسۡتَعِینُ ۝٥

It is You we worship; it is You we ask for help

iyyāka naʿbudu wa-iyyāka nastaʿīn

ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَ ٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِیمَ ۝٦

Guide us to the straight path

ih'dinā l-ṣirāṭa l-mus'taqīm

صِرَ ٰطَ ٱلَّذِینَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَیۡهِمۡ غَیۡرِ ٱلۡمَغۡضُوبِ عَلَیۡهِمۡ وَلَا ٱلضَّاۤلِّینَ ۝٧

the path of those You have blessed, those who incur no anger and who have not gone astray

ṣirāṭa alladhīna anʿamta ʿalayhim ghayri l-maghḍūbi ʿalayhim walā l-ḍālīn
