1 Prophet's Domestic Relations

۞ یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلنَّبِیُّ لِمَ تُحَرِّمُ مَاۤ أَحَلَّ ٱللَّهُ لَكَۖ تَبۡتَغِی مَرۡضَاتَ أَزۡوَ ٰجِكَۚ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورࣱ رَّحِیمࣱ ۝١

O Prophet! Would you prohibit something that Allah has made Lawful for you, even to please your wives? For, Allah is Absolver of (their) imperfections, Merciful

yāayyuhā l-nabiyu lima tuḥarrimu mā aḥalla l-lahu laka tabtaghī marḍāta azwājika wal-lahu ghafūrun raḥīmu

قَدۡ فَرَضَ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمۡ تَحِلَّةَ أَیۡمَـٰنِكُمۡۚ وَٱللَّهُ مَوۡلَىٰكُمۡۖ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَلِیمُ ٱلۡحَكِیمُ ۝٢

Allah has already decreed for you believers the procedure for dealing with your oaths. (2:225), (5:89). Allah is your Master, and He is the Knower, the Wise

qad faraḍa l-lahu lakum taḥillata aymānikum wal-lahu mawlākum wahuwa l-ʿalīmu l-ḥakīm

وَإِذۡ أَسَرَّ ٱلنَّبِیُّ إِلَىٰ بَعۡضِ أَزۡوَ ٰجِهِۦ حَدِیثࣰا فَلَمَّا نَبَّأَتۡ بِهِۦ وَأَظۡهَرَهُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَیۡهِ عَرَّفَ بَعۡضَهُۥ وَأَعۡرَضَ عَنۢ بَعۡضࣲۖ فَلَمَّا نَبَّأَهَا بِهِۦ قَالَتۡ مَنۡ أَنۢبَأَكَ هَـٰذَاۖ قَالَ نَبَّأَنِیَ ٱلۡعَلِیمُ ٱلۡخَبِیرُ ۝٣

(Family life must be a relation of mutual trust. Now follows an example for the believers.) The Prophet confided a certain statement to one of his wives but then she divulged it. And Allah let this known to him. He then informed his wife of part of the issue and disregarded part. She asked him, "Who informed you of this?" He said, "The Knower, the Aware has informed me."

wa-idh asarra l-nabiyu ilā baʿḍi azwājihi ḥadīthan falammā nabba-at bihi wa-aẓharahu l-lahu ʿalayhi ʿarrafa baʿḍahu wa-aʿraḍa ʿan baʿḍin falammā nabba-ahā bihi qālat man anba-aka hādhā qāla nabba-aniya l-ʿalīmu l-khabīr

إِن تَتُوبَاۤ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ فَقَدۡ صَغَتۡ قُلُوبُكُمَاۖ وَإِن تَظَـٰهَرَا عَلَیۡهِ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ مَوۡلَىٰهُ وَجِبۡرِیلُ وَصَـٰلِحُ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَۖ وَٱلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةُ بَعۡدَ ذَ ٰلِكَ ظَهِیرٌ ۝٤

If you two turn in repentance to Allah, (it shall be good for you) since your hearts had deviated. But if you back up each other against him (in divulging family matters), then, behold, Allah is with him, and so is Gabriel (who brings the Revelation), and the righteous believers. Also angels are his helpers. ('Angels' here denotes perseverance, restraint, courage, resolve, contentment (3;126), (8:9), (9:26), (33:56)). (Here is the absolute refutation of the Hadith collectors who obnoxiously peep into fabricated accounts of the Prophet's private life)

in tatūbā ilā l-lahi faqad ṣaghat qulūbukumā wa-in taẓāharā ʿalayhi fa-inna l-laha huwa mawlāhu wajib'rīlu waṣāliḥu l-mu'minīna wal-malāikatu baʿda dhālika ẓahīru

عَسَىٰ رَبُّهُۥۤ إِن طَلَّقَكُنَّ أَن یُبۡدِلَهُۥۤ أَزۡوَ ٰجًا خَیۡرࣰا مِّنكُنَّ مُسۡلِمَـٰتࣲ مُّؤۡمِنَـٰتࣲ قَـٰنِتَـٰتࣲ تَـٰۤىِٕبَـٰتٍ عَـٰبِدَ ٰتࣲ سَـٰۤىِٕحَـٰتࣲ ثَیِّبَـٰتࣲ وَأَبۡكَارࣰا ۝٥

If he divorces any of you, it may happen that his Lord substitute other wives in your stead who are better than you, submissive to Allah, staunch believers, devoted, repentant, serving Allah, traveling with him, widows or maidens

yāayyuhā alladhīna āmanū qū anfusakum wa-ahlīkum nāran waqūduhā l-nāsu wal-ḥijāratu ʿalayhā malāikatun ghilāẓun shidādun lā yaʿṣūna l-laha mā amarahum wayafʿalūna mā yu'marūn

یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ قُوۤا۟ أَنفُسَكُمۡ وَأَهۡلِیكُمۡ نَارࣰا وَقُودُهَا ٱلنَّاسُ وَٱلۡحِجَارَةُ عَلَیۡهَا مَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةٌ غِلَاظࣱ شِدَادࣱ لَّا یَعۡصُونَ ٱللَّهَ مَاۤ أَمَرَهُمۡ وَیَفۡعَلُونَ مَا یُؤۡمَرُونَ ۝٦

O You who have chosen to be graced with belief! (Family life must be a matter of trust and confidence) so guard yourselves and your families against a Fire whose fuel is people and their stone hearted leaders. The guardians of this Fire are the invincible, changeless Divine Laws that never fail to execute Allah's Ordinance, and carry it out without exception

Ya ayyuha allatheena amanoo qoo anfusakum waahleekum naran waqooduha alnnasu waalhijaratu AAalayha mala-ikatun ghilathun shidadun la yaAAsoona Allaha ma amarahum wayafAAaloona ma yu/maroona

یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَا تَعۡتَذِرُوا۟ ٱلۡیَوۡمَۖ إِنَّمَا تُجۡزَوۡنَ مَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ ۝٧

O You rejecters of the Truth! Make no excuses for yourselves this Day. You are only being paid for what you used to do

yāayyuhā alladhīna kafarū lā taʿtadhirū l-yawma innamā tuj'zawna mā kuntum taʿmalūn

2 Progress of Faithful

یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ تُوبُوۤا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ تَوۡبَةࣰ نَّصُوحًا عَسَىٰ رَبُّكُمۡ أَن یُكَفِّرَ عَنكُمۡ سَیِّءَاتِكُمۡ وَیُدۡخِلَكُمۡ جَنَّـٰتࣲ تَجۡرِی مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَـٰرُ یَوۡمَ لَا یُخۡزِی ٱللَّهُ ٱلنَّبِیَّ وَٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مَعَهُۥۖ نُورُهُمۡ یَسۡعَىٰ بَیۡنَ أَیۡدِیهِمۡ وَبِأَیۡمَـٰنِهِمۡ یَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَاۤ أَتۡمِمۡ لَنَا نُورَنَا وَٱغۡفِرۡ لَنَاۤۖ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ قَدِیرࣱ ۝٨

O You who have chosen to be graced with belief! Turn to Allah in sincere repentance. Your Lord will then erase your misdeeds, and admit you into the Gardens underneath which rivers flow - on the Day when Allah will not let be degraded His Messenger and those who are with him in Faith. Their Light will run ahead of them as grace for them. They will say, "Our Lord! Perfect our Light for us making it last forever, and absolve our imperfections. Verily, You are Controller of all things."

yāayyuhā alladhīna āmanū tūbū ilā l-lahi tawbatan naṣūḥan ʿasā rabbukum an yukaffira ʿankum sayyiātikum wayud'khilakum jannātin tajrī min taḥtihā l-anhāru yawma lā yukh'zī l-lahu l-nabiya wa-alladhīna āmanū maʿahu nūruhum yasʿā bayna aydīhim wabi-aymānihim yaqūlūna rabbanā atmim lanā nūranā wa-igh'fir lanā innaka ʿalā kulli shayin qadīru

یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلنَّبِیُّ جَـٰهِدِ ٱلۡكُفَّارَ وَٱلۡمُنَـٰفِقِینَ وَٱغۡلُظۡ عَلَیۡهِمۡۚ وَمَأۡوَىٰهُمۡ جَهَنَّمُۖ وَبِئۡسَ ٱلۡمَصِیرُ ۝٩

O Prophet! Strive against the rejecters of the Truth and the hypocrites, and be stern with them. Hell will be their home, and how pathetic a destination

yāayyuhā l-nabiyu jāhidi l-kufāra wal-munāfiqīna wa-ugh'luẓ ʿalayhim wamawāhum jahannamu wabi'sa l-maṣīr

ضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلࣰا لِّلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ ٱمۡرَأَتَ نُوحࣲ وَٱمۡرَأَتَ لُوطࣲۖ كَانَتَا تَحۡتَ عَبۡدَیۡنِ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا صَـٰلِحَیۡنِ فَخَانَتَاهُمَا فَلَمۡ یُغۡنِیَا عَنۡهُمَا مِنَ ٱللَّهِ شَیۡءࣰا وَقِیلَ ٱدۡخُلَا ٱلنَّارَ مَعَ ٱلدَّ ٰخِلِینَ ۝١٠

Allah cites an example for those who deny the Truth. The wife of Noah and the wife of Lot, they were wedded to two of Our righteous servants yet each one betrayed her husband so that neither of them (their husbands) could avail them at all against Allah. And it was said, "Enter the Fire along with others who enter it."

ḍaraba l-lahu mathalan lilladhīna kafarū im'ra-ata nūḥin wa-im'ra-ata lūṭin kānatā taḥta ʿabdayni min ʿibādinā ṣāliḥayni fakhānatāhumā falam yugh'niyā ʿanhumā mina l-lahi shayan waqīla ud'khulā l-nāra maʿa l-dākhilīn

وَضَرَبَ ٱللَّهُ مَثَلࣰا لِّلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱمۡرَأَتَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ إِذۡ قَالَتۡ رَبِّ ٱبۡنِ لِی عِندَكَ بَیۡتࣰا فِی ٱلۡجَنَّةِ وَنَجِّنِی مِن فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَعَمَلِهِۦ وَنَجِّنِی مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝١١

And Allah gives an example for those who have chosen to be graced with belief: The wife of Pharaoh when she said, "My Lord! Build for me a mansion in the Paradise, and save me from Pharaoh and his doings, and save me from the oppressors."

waḍaraba l-lahu mathalan lilladhīna āmanū im'ra-ata fir'ʿawna idh qālat rabbi ib'ni lī ʿindaka baytan fī l-janati wanajjinī min fir'ʿawna waʿamalihi wanajjinī mina l-qawmi l-ẓālimīn

وَمَرۡیَمَ ٱبۡنَتَ عِمۡرَ ٰنَ ٱلَّتِیۤ أَحۡصَنَتۡ فَرۡجَهَا فَنَفَخۡنَا فِیهِ مِن رُّوحِنَا وَصَدَّقَتۡ بِكَلِمَـٰتِ رَبِّهَا وَكُتُبِهِۦ وَكَانَتۡ مِنَ ٱلۡقَـٰنِتِینَ ۝١٢

And Mary, daughter of Imran, who guarded her modesty (in very adverse circumstances. She revolted against the non-Divine institution of monasticism, and got married adopting the natural family life). And We breathed into her (baby) something from Our Energy (free will, as We do to all human beings (2:30)). And she put faith in the Commands and Laws of her Lord, and was of the obedient

wamaryama ib'nata ʿim'rāna allatī aḥṣanat farjahā fanafakhnā fīhi min rūḥinā waṣaddaqat bikalimāti rabbihā wakutubihi wakānat mina l-qānitīn
