Tafsir al-Tustari — al-Kafirun 109:2
I do not worship what you worship,now.and you do not worship what I worship,now.
I do not worship what you worship,now.and you do not worship what I worship,now.
nor will I worship what you worship,in the future.
nor will you worship what I worship,in the future.
(You have your religion and I have a religion). You have your choice (ikhtiyār) for your religion and I have my choice for a religion. Then [this verse] was abrogated by the verse of the sword [9:5]. His words, Exalted is He:
When the help of God comes along with victory,He said:When the help of God comes for your religion, and victory for your religion.
and you see people entering God�s religion in throngs,and you see people, the people of Yemen, entering God�s religion in throngs, in multitudes (zumaran) � the tribe with its families, and the whole people.
