Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
The Day it comes no soul will speak except by His permission. And among them will be the wretched and the prosperous
Abdel Haleem:
and when that Day comes, no soul will speak except by His permission, and some of them will be wretched and some happy
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
On the day when it cometh no soul will speak except by His permission; some among them will be wretched, (others) glad
Mary 19:32

وَبَرَّۢا بِوَ ٰلِدَتِی وَلَمۡ یَجۡعَلۡنِی جَبَّارࣰا شَقِیࣰّا ٣٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And [made me] dutiful to my mother, and He has not made me a wretched tyrant

to cherish my mother. He did not make me domineering or graceless

Mary 19:4

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّی وَهَنَ ٱلۡعَظۡمُ مِنِّی وَٱشۡتَعَلَ ٱلرَّأۡسُ شَیۡبࣰا وَلَمۡ أَكُنۢ بِدُعَاۤىِٕكَ رَبِّ شَقِیࣰّا ٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
He said, "My Lord, indeed my bones have weakened, and my head has filled with white, and never have I been in my supplication to You, my Lord, unhappy
Abdel Haleem:
‘Lord, my bones have weakened and my hair is ashen grey, but never, Lord, have I ever prayed to You in vain
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Saying: My Lord! Lo! the bones of me wax feeble and my head is shining with grey hair, and I have never been unblest in prayer to Thee, my Lord
Mary 19:48
Noun
وَأَعۡتَزِلُكُمۡ وَمَا تَدۡعُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَدۡعُوا۟ رَبِّی عَسَىٰۤ أَلَّاۤ أَكُونَ بِدُعَاۤءِ رَبِّی شَقِیࣰّا ٤٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And I will leave you and those you invoke other than Allah and will invoke my Lord. I expect that I will not be in invocation to my Lord unhappy."
Abdel Haleem:
but for now I will leave you, and the idols you all pray to, and I will pray to my Lord and trust that my prayer will not be in vain.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
I shall withdraw from you and that unto which ye pray beside Allah, and I shall pray unto my Lord. It may be that, in prayer unto my Lord, I shall not be unblest
The Believers 23:106
Noun
قَالُوا۟ رَبَّنَا غَلَبَتۡ عَلَیۡنَا شِقۡوَتُنَا وَكُنَّا قَوۡمࣰا ضَاۤلِّینَ ١٠٦
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
They will say, "Our Lord, our wretchedness overcame us, and we were a people astray
Abdel Haleem:
They will say, ‘Lord, our waywardness overcame us and we went astray
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
They will say: Our Lord! Our evil fortune conquered us, and we were erring folk
وَيَتَجَنَّبُهَا الْأَشْقَى
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
But the wretched one will avoid it

but it will be ignored by the most wicked

Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
As for those who were [destined to be] wretched, they will be in the Fire. For them therein is [violent] exhaling and inhaling

The wretched ones will be in the Fire, sighing and groaning

As for those who will be wretched (on that day) they will be in the Fire; sighing and wailing will be their portion therein
Ta Ha 20:117

فَقُلۡنَا یَـٰۤءَادَمُ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا عَدُوࣱّ لَّكَ وَلِزَوۡجِكَ فَلَا یُخۡرِجَنَّكُمَا مِنَ ٱلۡجَنَّةِ فَتَشۡقَىٰۤ ١١٧
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
So We said, "O Adam, indeed this is an enemy to you and to your wife. Then let him not remove you from Paradise so you would suffer
Abdel Haleem:
so We said, ‘Adam, this is your enemy, yours and your wife’s: do not let him drive you out of the garden and make you miserable
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Therefor we said: O Adam! This is an enemy unto thee and unto thy wife, so let him not drive you both out of the Garden so that thou come to toil
Ta Ha 20:123
Verb
قَالَ ٱهۡبِطَا مِنۡهَا جَمِیعَۢاۖ بَعۡضُكُمۡ لِبَعۡضٍ عَدُوࣱّۖ فَإِمَّا یَأۡتِیَنَّكُم مِّنِّی هُدࣰى فَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ هُدَایَ فَلَا یَضِلُّ وَلَا یَشۡقَىٰ ١٢٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
[ Allah ] said, "Descend from Paradise - all, [your descendants] being enemies to one another. And if there should come to you guidance from Me - then whoever follows My guidance will neither go astray [in the world] nor suffer [in the Hereafter]
Abdel Haleem:
God said, ‘Get out of the garden as each other’s enemy.’ Whoever follows My guidance, when it comes to you [people], will not go astray nor fall into misery
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
He said: Go down hence, both of you, one of you a foe unto the other. But when there come unto you from Me a guidance, then whoso followeth My guidance, he will not go astray nor come to grief
Ta Ha 20:2

مَاۤ أَنزَلۡنَا عَلَیۡكَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِتَشۡقَىٰۤ ٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
We have not sent down to you the Qur'an that you be distresse
Abdel Haleem:
It was not to distress you [Prophet] that We sent down the Quran to you

We have not revealed unto thee (Muhammad) this Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed
