ٱلَّذِینَ كَانَتۡ أَعۡیُنُهُمۡ فِی غِطَاۤءٍ عَن ذِكۡرِی وَكَانُوا۟ لَا یَسۡتَطِیعُونَ سَمۡعًا ١٠١
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Those whose eyes had been within a cover [removed] from My remembrance, and they were not able to hear
Abdel Haleem:
those whose eyes were blind to My signs, those who were unable to hear
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Those whose eyes were hoodwinked from My reminder, and who could not bear to hear
The Letter Qaf 50:22
Noun
لَّقَدۡ كُنتَ فِی غَفۡلَةࣲ مِّنۡ هَـٰذَا فَكَشَفۡنَا عَنكَ غِطَاۤءَكَ فَبَصَرُكَ ٱلۡیَوۡمَ حَدِیدࣱ ٢٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
[It will be said], "You were certainly in unmindfulness of this, and We have removed from you your cover, so your sight, this Day, is sharp."
Abdel Haleem:
‘You paid no attention to this [Day]; but today We have removed your veil and your sight is sharp.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
(And unto the evil-doer it is said): Thou wast in heedlessness of this. Now We have removed from thee thy covering, and piercing is thy sight this day
