39 لِیُبَیِّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلَّذِی یَخۡتَلِفُونَ فِیهِ وَلِیَعۡلَمَ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوۤا۟ أَنَّهُمۡ كَانُوا۟ كَـٰذِبِینَ ۝٣٩ liyubayyina lahumu alladhī yakhtalifūna fīhi waliyaʿlama alladhīna kafarū annahum kānū kādhibīn in order to make clear for them what they have differed about and so that the disbelievers may realize that what they said was false 40 إِنَّمَا قَوۡلُنَا لِشَیۡءٍ إِذَاۤ أَرَدۡنَـٰهُ أَن نَّقُولَ لَهُۥ كُن فَیَكُونُ ۝٤٠ innamā qawlunā lishayin idhā aradnāhu an naqūla lahu kun fayakūn When We will something to happen, all that We say is, ‘Be,’ and it is 41 وَٱلَّذِینَ هَاجَرُوا۟ فِی ٱللَّهِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا۟ لَنُبَوِّئَنَّهُمۡ فِی ٱلدُّنۡیَا حَسَنَةࣰۖ وَلَأَجۡرُ ٱلۡءَاخِرَةِ أَكۡبَرُۚ لَوۡ كَانُوا۟ یَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٤١ wa-alladhīna hājarū fī l-lahi min baʿdi mā ẓulimū lanubawwi-annahum fī l-dun'yā ḥasanatan wala-ajru l-ākhirati akbaru law kānū yaʿlamūn As for those who emi-grated in God’s cause after being wronged, We shall give them a good home in this world, but the reward of the Hereafter will be far greater, if they only knew it 42 ٱلَّذِینَ صَبَرُوا۟ وَعَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمۡ یَتَوَكَّلُونَ ۝٤٢ alladhīna ṣabarū waʿalā rabbihim yatawakkalūn They are the ones who are steadfast and put their trust in their Lord
43 وَمَاۤ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ إِلَّا رِجَالࣰا نُّوحِیۤ إِلَیۡهِمۡۖ فَسۡءَلُوۤا۟ أَهۡلَ ٱلذِّكۡرِ إِن كُنتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٤٣ wamā arsalnā min qablika illā rijālan nūḥī ilayhim fasalū ahla l-dhik'ri in kuntum lā taʿlamūn [Prophet], all the messengers We sent before you were simply men to whom We had given the Revelation: you [people] can ask those who have knowledge if you do not know
44 بِٱلۡبَیِّنَـٰتِ وَٱلزُّبُرِۗ وَأَنزَلۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡكَ ٱلذِّكۡرَ لِتُبَیِّنَ لِلنَّاسِ مَا نُزِّلَ إِلَیۡهِمۡ وَلَعَلَّهُمۡ یَتَفَكَّرُونَ ۝٤٤ bil-bayināti wal-zuburi wa-anzalnā ilayka l-dhik'ra litubayyina lilnnāsi mā nuzzila ilayhim walaʿallahum yatafakkarūn We sent them with clear signs and scriptures. We have sent down the message to you too [Prophet], so that you can explain to people what was sent for them, so that they may reflect 45 أَفَأَمِنَ ٱلَّذِینَ مَكَرُوا۟ ٱلسَّیِّءَاتِ أَن یَخۡسِفَ ٱللَّهُ بِهِمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ أَوۡ یَأۡتِیَهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُ مِنۡ حَیۡثُ لَا یَشۡعُرُونَ ۝٤٥ afa-amina alladhīna makarū l-sayiāti an yakhsifa l-lahu bihimu l-arḍa aw yatiyahumu l-ʿadhābu min ḥaythu lā yashʿurūn Are those who plan evil so sure that God will not make the earth swallow them up, that punishment will not come on them from some unimagined direction 46 أَوۡ یَأۡخُذَهُمۡ فِی تَقَلُّبِهِمۡ فَمَا هُم بِمُعۡجِزِینَ ۝٤٦ aw yakhudhahum fī taqallubihim famā hum bimuʿ'jizīn that it will not catch them suddenly in the midst of their comings and goings- for they cannot frustrate God 47 أَوۡ یَأۡخُذَهُمۡ عَلَىٰ تَخَوُّفࣲ فَإِنَّ رَبَّكُمۡ لَرَءُوفࣱ رَّحِیمٌ ۝٤٧ aw yakhudhahum ʿalā takhawwufin fa-inna rabbakum laraūfun raḥīmu or that it will not catch up with them gradually? Indeed your Lord is kind and merciful
