155 قَالَ هَـٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةࣱ لَّهَا شِرۡبࣱ وَلَكُمۡ شِرۡبُ یَوۡمࣲ مَّعۡلُومࣲ ۝١٥٥ qāla hādhihi nāqatun lahā shir'bun walakum shir'bu yawmin maʿlūmi He said, ‘Here is a camel. She should have her turn to drink and so should you, each on a specified day 156 وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوۤءࣲ فَیَأۡخُذَكُمۡ عَذَابُ یَوۡمٍ عَظِیمࣲ ۝١٥٦ walā tamassūhā bisūin fayakhudhakum ʿadhābu yawmin ʿaẓīmi so do not harm her, or the punishment of a terrible day will befall you.’ 157 فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصۡبَحُوا۟ نَـٰدِمِینَ ۝١٥٧ faʿaqarūhā fa-aṣbaḥū nādimīn But they hamstrung her. In the morning they had cause to regret it 158 فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُۚ إِنَّ فِی ذَ ٰلِكَ لَءَایَةࣰۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّؤۡمِنِینَ ۝١٥٨ fa-akhadhahumu l-ʿadhābu inna fī dhālika laāyatan wamā kāna aktharuhum mu'minīn the punishment fell upon them. There truly is a sign in this, though most of them will not believe
159 وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِیزُ ٱلرَّحِیمُ ۝١٥٩ wa-inna rabbaka lahuwa l-ʿazīzu l-raḥīm your Lord alone is the Almighty, the Merciful
160 كَذَّبَتۡ قَوۡمُ لُوطٍ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِینَ ۝١٦٠ kadhabat qawmu lūṭin l-mur'salīn The people of Lot, too, called the messengers liars 161 إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُمۡ أَخُوهُمۡ لُوطٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ ۝١٦١ idh qāla lahum akhūhum lūṭun alā tattaqūn Their brother Lot said to them, ‘Will you not be mindful of God 162 إِنِّی لَكُمۡ رَسُولٌ أَمِینࣱ ۝١٦٢ innī lakum rasūlun amīnu I am a faithful messenger to you 163 فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِیعُونِ ۝١٦٣ fa-ittaqū l-laha wa-aṭīʿūn be mindful of God and obey me
