Verse 53:59 in Context

55 فَبِأَیِّ ءَالَاۤءِ رَبِّكَ تَتَمَارَىٰ ۝٥٥ fabi-ayyi ālāi rabbika tatamār Which then of your Lord’s blessings do you deny 56 هَـٰذَا نَذِیرࣱ مِّنَ ٱلنُّذُرِ ٱلۡأُولَىٰۤ ۝٥٦ hādhā nadhīrun mina l-nudhuri l-ūl This is a warning just like the warnings sent in former times 57 أَزِفَتِ ٱلۡءَازِفَةُ ۝٥٧ azifati l-āzifat The imminent Hour draws nea 58 لَیۡسَ لَهَا مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ كَاشِفَةٌ ۝٥٨ laysa lahā min dūni l-lahi kāshifatu and only God can disclose it
59 أَفَمِنۡ هَـٰذَا ٱلۡحَدِیثِ تَعۡجَبُونَ ۝٥٩ afamin hādhā l-ḥadīthi taʿjabūn Do you [people] marvel at this
60 وَتَضۡحَكُونَ وَلَا تَبۡكُونَ ۝٦٠ wataḍḥakūna walā tabkūn Why do you laugh instead of weeping 61 وَأَنتُمۡ سَـٰمِدُونَ ۝٦١ wa-antum sāmidūn Why do you pay no heed 62 فَ̅ٱ̅سۡ̅جُ̅دُ̅و̅ا۟̅ لِلَّهِ وَٱعۡبُدُوا۟ ۝٦٢ ۩ fa-us'judū lillahi wa-uʿ'bud Bow down before God and worship
