16 كِرَامٍ بَرَرَةٍ Kiramin bararatin noble and virtuous scribes 17 قُتِلَ الْإِنسَانُ مَا أَكْفَرَهُ Qutila al-insanu ma akfarahu Woe to man! How ungrateful he is 18 مِنْ أَيِّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقَهُ Min ayyi shay-in khalaqahu From what thing does God create him 19 مِن نُّطْفَةٍ خَلَقَهُ فَقَدَّرَهُ Min nutfatin khalaqahu faqaddarahu He creates him from a droplet, He proportions him
20 ثُمَّ السَّبِيلَ يَسَّرَهُ Thumma alssabeela yassarahu He makes the way easy for him
21 ثُمَّ أَمَاتَهُ فَأَقْبَرَهُ Thumma amatahu faaqbarahu then He causes him to die and be buried 22 ثُمَّ إِذَا شَاءَ أَنشَرَهُ Thumma itha shaa ansharahu When He wills, He will raise him up again 23 كَلَّا لَمَّا يَقْضِ مَا أَمَرَهُ Kalla lamma yaqdi ma amarahu Yet mandoes not fulfil God’s commands 24 فَلْيَنظُرِ الْإِنسَانُ إِلَىٰ طَعَامِهِ Falyanthuri al-insanu ila taAAamihi Let man consider the food he eats
