The Five Pillars of Islam
The five foundational acts of worship that define a Muslim's faith and practice.

Shahada
Declaration of Faithلَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّٰهُ مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ ٱللَّٰهِ
Lā ilāha illā Allāh, Muḥammadun rasūlu Allāh
The declaration that there is no god but Allah and Muhammad is His messenger — the foundation of Islamic faith.
2Salah
Prayerٱلصَّلَاة
Aṣ-Ṣalāh
Five daily prayers at dawn, midday, afternoon, sunset, and night — the direct connection between the worshipper and God.
3Zakat
Charityٱلزَّكَاة
Az-Zakāh
Obligatory charity: 2.5% of savings given annually to purify wealth and support those in need.
4Sawm
Fastingٱلصَّوْم
Aṣ-Ṣawm
Fasting from dawn to sunset during Ramadan — abstaining from food, drink, and other desires to develop self-discipline and empathy.
5Hajj
Pilgrimageٱلْحَجّ
Al-Ḥajj
The annual pilgrimage to Makkah — required once in a lifetime for every Muslim who is physically and financially able.
