When the prohibition of Khamr was revealed, 'Umar said: "O Allah, give us a clear ruling on Khamr," and the Verse in Al-Baqarah was revealed. 'Umar was called and it was recited to him. "The Messenger of Allah forbade (mixing) Az-Zahuw and At-Tamr, and raisins and dried dates (At-Tamr)."
Anas would not leave any dates that had become ripe but he would remove them from his Fadikh.
The Messenger of Allah said: "Do not soak Az-Zahuw and ripe dates together, nor Al-Busr and raisins together. Soak each one of them on its own."
