طسۤمۤ ۝١

Bakhtiari Nejad

T. S. M. (Ta. Sin. Mim.)

تِلۡكَ ءَایَـٰتُ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبِ ٱلۡمُبِینِ ۝٢

Bakhtiari Nejad

These are the verses of the clear (and clarifying) book.

til'ka āyātu l-kitābi l-mubīn

نَتۡلُوا۟ عَلَیۡكَ مِن نَّبَإِ مُوسَىٰ وَفِرۡعَوۡنَ بِٱلۡحَقِّ لِقَوۡمࣲ یُؤۡمِنُونَ ۝٣

Bakhtiari Nejad

We read to you of the true story of Moses and Pharaoh, for people who believe.

natlū ʿalayka min naba-i mūsā wafir'ʿawna bil-ḥaqi liqawmin yu'minūn

إِنَّ فِرۡعَوۡنَ عَلَا فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَجَعَلَ أَهۡلَهَا شِیَعࣰا یَسۡتَضۡعِفُ طَاۤىِٕفَةࣰ مِّنۡهُمۡ یُذَبِّحُ أَبۡنَاۤءَهُمۡ وَیَسۡتَحۡیِۦ نِسَاۤءَهُمۡۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُفۡسِدِینَ ۝٤

Bakhtiari Nejad

Indeed, Pharaoh was high (and mighty) in the land and made his people into sects, weakening a group of them (children of Israel), killing their sons and keeping their women alive. Indeed, he was of the corruptors.

inna fir'ʿawna ʿalā fī l-arḍi wajaʿala ahlahā shiyaʿan yastaḍʿifu ṭāifatan min'hum yudhabbiḥu abnāahum wayastaḥyī nisāahum innahu kāna mina l-muf'sidīn

وَنُرِیدُ أَن نَّمُنَّ عَلَى ٱلَّذِینَ ٱسۡتُضۡعِفُوا۟ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَنَجۡعَلَهُمۡ أَىِٕمَّةࣰ وَنَجۡعَلَهُمُ ٱلۡوَ ٰرِثِینَ ۝٥

Bakhtiari Nejad

And We wanted to do a favor to those who were weak in the land and to make them leaders and to make them the inheritors (of Pharaoh’s power),

wanurīdu an namunna ʿalā alladhīna us'tuḍ'ʿifū fī l-arḍi wanajʿalahum a-immatan wanajʿalahumu l-wārithīn

وَنُمَكِّنَ لَهُمۡ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَنُرِیَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَهَـٰمَـٰنَ وَجُنُودَهُمَا مِنۡهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ یَحۡذَرُونَ ۝٦

Bakhtiari Nejad

and to establish them (and give them power) in the land and to show Pharaoh and Haman and their troops what they used to fear.

wanumakkina lahum fī l-arḍi wanuriya fir'ʿawna wahāmāna wajunūdahumā min'hum mā kānū yaḥdharūn

وَأَوۡحَیۡنَاۤ إِلَىٰۤ أُمِّ مُوسَىٰۤ أَنۡ أَرۡضِعِیهِۖ فَإِذَا خِفۡتِ عَلَیۡهِ فَأَلۡقِیهِ فِی ٱلۡیَمِّ وَلَا تَخَافِی وَلَا تَحۡزَنِیۤۖ إِنَّا رَاۤدُّوهُ إِلَیۡكِ وَجَاعِلُوهُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِینَ ۝٧

Bakhtiari Nejad

And We revealed to Moses’ mother to nurse him, and when you are afraid for him then throw him in the sea/river and do not be afraid and do not be sad, We bring him back to you and We make him one of the messengers.

wa-awḥaynā ilā ummi mūsā an arḍiʿīhi fa-idhā khif'ti ʿalayhi fa-alqīhi fī l-yami walā takhāfī walā taḥzanī innā rāddūhu ilayki wajāʿilūhu mina l-mur'salīn

فَٱلۡتَقَطَهُۥۤ ءَالُ فِرۡعَوۡنَ لِیَكُونَ لَهُمۡ عَدُوࣰّا وَحَزَنًاۗ إِنَّ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَهَـٰمَـٰنَ وَجُنُودَهُمَا كَانُوا۟ خَـٰطِءِینَ ۝٨

Bakhtiari Nejad

Then Pharaoh’s family picked him up, so that he would be an enemy and a sorrow for them. Indeed, Pharaoh and Haman and their troops were sinners.

fal-taqaṭahu ālu fir'ʿawna liyakūna lahum ʿaduwwan waḥazanan inna fir'ʿawna wahāmāna wajunūdahumā kānū khāṭiīn

وَقَالَتِ ٱمۡرَأَتُ فِرۡعَوۡنَ قُرَّتُ عَیۡنࣲ لِّی وَلَكَۖ لَا تَقۡتُلُوهُ عَسَىٰۤ أَن یَنفَعَنَاۤ أَوۡ نَتَّخِذَهُۥ وَلَدࣰا وَهُمۡ لَا یَشۡعُرُونَ ۝٩

Bakhtiari Nejad

And Pharaoh’s wife said: “(He is) joy of the eye for me and for you, do not kill him, perhaps he benefits us, or we take him as a son” and they did not realize (what they were doing).

waqālati im'ra-atu fir'ʿawna qurratu ʿaynin lī walaka lā taqtulūhu ʿasā an yanfaʿanā aw nattakhidhahu waladan wahum lā yashʿurūn

وَأَصۡبَحَ فُؤَادُ أُمِّ مُوسَىٰ فَـٰرِغًاۖ إِن كَادَتۡ لَتُبۡدِی بِهِۦ لَوۡلَاۤ أَن رَّبَطۡنَا عَلَىٰ قَلۡبِهَا لِتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ ۝١٠

Bakhtiari Nejad

And the heart of Moses’ mother became empty (of grief or patience). She almost exposed him if We had not strengthened her heart in order to be of the believers.

wa-aṣbaḥa fuādu ummi mūsā fārighan in kādat latub'dī bihi lawlā an rabaṭnā ʿalā qalbihā litakūna mina l-mu'minīn

وَقَالَتۡ لِأُخۡتِهِۦ قُصِّیهِۖ فَبَصُرَتۡ بِهِۦ عَن جُنُبࣲ وَهُمۡ لَا یَشۡعُرُونَ ۝١١

Bakhtiari Nejad

And she said to his sister: “Follow him.” So, she watched him from a distance, while they did not realize.

waqālat li-ukh'tihi quṣṣīhi fabaṣurat bihi ʿan junubin wahum lā yashʿurūn

۞ وَحَرَّمۡنَا عَلَیۡهِ ٱلۡمَرَاضِعَ مِن قَبۡلُ فَقَالَتۡ هَلۡ أَدُلُّكُمۡ عَلَىٰۤ أَهۡلِ بَیۡتࣲ یَكۡفُلُونَهُۥ لَكُمۡ وَهُمۡ لَهُۥ نَـٰصِحُونَ ۝١٢

Bakhtiari Nejad

And We had previously forbidden the nursing mothers to him, so she (Moses’ sister) said to them: “Should I show you a household to take care of him for you and they are well-wishers for him.”

waḥarramnā ʿalayhi l-marāḍiʿa min qablu faqālat hal adullukum ʿalā ahli baytin yakfulūnahu lakum wahum lahu nāṣiḥūn

فَرَدَدۡنَـٰهُ إِلَىٰۤ أُمِّهِۦ كَیۡ تَقَرَّ عَیۡنُهَا وَلَا تَحۡزَنَ وَلِتَعۡلَمَ أَنَّ وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقࣱّ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ لَا یَعۡلَمُونَ ۝١٣

Bakhtiari Nejad

So, We gave him back to his mother to delight her and she would not be sad and so that she knows that God's promise is true, but most of them do not know.

faradadnāhu ilā ummihi kay taqarra ʿaynuhā walā taḥzana walitaʿlama anna waʿda l-lahi ḥaqqun walākinna aktharahum lā yaʿlamūn

2 History of Moses

وَلَمَّا بَلَغَ أَشُدَّهُۥ وَٱسۡتَوَىٰۤ ءَاتَیۡنَـٰهُ حُكۡمࣰا وَعِلۡمࣰاۚ وَكَذَ ٰلِكَ نَجۡزِی ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِینَ ۝١٤

Bakhtiari Nejad

And when he reached his maturity and he settled, We gave him wisdom and knowledge. And that is how We reward the good doers.

walammā balagha ashuddahu wa-is'tawā ātaynāhu ḥuk'man waʿil'man wakadhālika najzī l-muḥ'sinīn

وَدَخَلَ ٱلۡمَدِینَةَ عَلَىٰ حِینِ غَفۡلَةࣲ مِّنۡ أَهۡلِهَا فَوَجَدَ فِیهَا رَجُلَیۡنِ یَقۡتَتِلَانِ هَـٰذَا مِن شِیعَتِهِۦ وَهَـٰذَا مِنۡ عَدُوِّهِۦۖ فَٱسۡتَغَـٰثَهُ ٱلَّذِی مِن شِیعَتِهِۦ عَلَى ٱلَّذِی مِنۡ عَدُوِّهِۦ فَوَكَزَهُۥ مُوسَىٰ فَقَضَىٰ عَلَیۡهِۖ قَالَ هَـٰذَا مِنۡ عَمَلِ ٱلشَّیۡطَـٰنِۖ إِنَّهُۥ عَدُوࣱّ مُّضِلࣱّ مُّبِینࣱ ۝١٥

Bakhtiari Nejad

And he entered the city when its people were unaware, then he found two men fighting in there, one from his own sect (children of Israel), and one from his enemy (Egyptian). Then the one from his sect asked for his help against the one from his enemy. So, Moses punched him and killed him. He said: “This was Satan's work; indeed he is obviously a misguiding enemy.”

wadakhala l-madīnata ʿalā ḥīni ghaflatin min ahlihā fawajada fīhā rajulayni yaqtatilāni hādhā min shīʿatihi wahādhā min ʿaduwwihi fa-is'taghāthahu alladhī min shīʿatihi ʿalā alladhī min ʿaduwwihi fawakazahu mūsā faqaḍā ʿalayhi qāla hādhā min ʿamali l-shayṭāni innahu ʿaduwwun muḍillun mubīnu

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّی ظَلَمۡتُ نَفۡسِی فَٱغۡفِرۡ لِی فَغَفَرَ لَهُۥۤۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِیمُ ۝١٦

Bakhtiari Nejad

He said: “My Lord, indeed I did wrong to myself, so forgive me.” So, He forgave him. Indeed, He is the forgiving, the merciful.

qāla rabbi innī ẓalamtu nafsī fa-igh'fir lī faghafara lahu innahu huwa l-ghafūru l-raḥīm

قَالَ رَبِّ بِمَاۤ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَیَّ فَلَنۡ أَكُونَ ظَهِیرࣰا لِّلۡمُجۡرِمِینَ ۝١٧

Bakhtiari Nejad

He said: “My Lord, because of what You favored upon me, I will never be a supporter of the guilty ones.”

qāla rabbi bimā anʿamta ʿalayya falan akūna ẓahīran lil'muj'rimīn

فَأَصۡبَحَ فِی ٱلۡمَدِینَةِ خَاۤىِٕفࣰا یَتَرَقَّبُ فَإِذَا ٱلَّذِی ٱسۡتَنصَرَهُۥ بِٱلۡأَمۡسِ یَسۡتَصۡرِخُهُۥۚ قَالَ لَهُۥ مُوسَىٰۤ إِنَّكَ لَغَوِیࣱّ مُّبِینࣱ ۝١٨

Bakhtiari Nejad

So, he was in the city in the morning, afraid and watchful, then all of a sudden the one who asked for his help yesterday cried out for his help (again). Moses told him: “Indeed you are clearly a troublemaker.”

fa-aṣbaḥa fī l-madīnati khāifan yataraqqabu fa-idhā alladhī is'tanṣarahu bil-amsi yastaṣrikhuhu qāla lahu mūsā innaka laghawiyyun mubīnu

فَلَمَّاۤ أَنۡ أَرَادَ أَن یَبۡطِشَ بِٱلَّذِی هُوَ عَدُوࣱّ لَّهُمَا قَالَ یَـٰمُوسَىٰۤ أَتُرِیدُ أَن تَقۡتُلَنِی كَمَا قَتَلۡتَ نَفۡسَۢا بِٱلۡأَمۡسِۖ إِن تُرِیدُ إِلَّاۤ أَن تَكُونَ جَبَّارࣰا فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا تُرِیدُ أَن تَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُصۡلِحِینَ ۝١٩

Bakhtiari Nejad

So, when he wanted to attack the one who was enemy of both of them, he said: “Moses, do you want to kill me as you killed a person yesterday? You only want to be a bully on the land, and you do not want to be of those who do what is right.”

falammā an arāda an yabṭisha bi-alladhī huwa ʿaduwwun lahumā qāla yāmūsā aturīdu an taqtulanī kamā qatalta nafsan bil-amsi in turīdu illā an takūna jabbāran fī l-arḍi wamā turīdu an takūna mina l-muṣ'liḥīn

وَجَاۤءَ رَجُلࣱ مِّنۡ أَقۡصَا ٱلۡمَدِینَةِ یَسۡعَىٰ قَالَ یَـٰمُوسَىٰۤ إِنَّ ٱلۡمَلَأَ یَأۡتَمِرُونَ بِكَ لِیَقۡتُلُوكَ فَٱخۡرُجۡ إِنِّی لَكَ مِنَ ٱلنَّـٰصِحِینَ ۝٢٠

Bakhtiari Nejad

And a man came to him rushing from the far side of the city, saying: “Moses, indeed the assembly men are conspiring against you to kill you, so get out (immediately), indeed I am of the well-wishers for you.”

wajāa rajulun min aqṣā l-madīnati yasʿā qāla yāmūsā inna l-mala-a yatamirūna bika liyaqtulūka fa-ukh'ruj innī laka mina l-nāṣiḥīn

فَخَرَجَ مِنۡهَا خَاۤىِٕفࣰا یَتَرَقَّبُۖ قَالَ رَبِّ نَجِّنِی مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝٢١

Bakhtiari Nejad

So, he went out of it, afraid and watchful. He said: “My Lord, save me from the wrongdoing people.”

fakharaja min'hā khāifan yataraqqabu qāla rabbi najjinī mina l-qawmi l-ẓālimīn

3 History of Moses

وَلَمَّا تَوَجَّهَ تِلۡقَاۤءَ مَدۡیَنَ قَالَ عَسَىٰ رَبِّیۤ أَن یَهۡدِیَنِی سَوَاۤءَ ٱلسَّبِیلِ ۝٢٢

Bakhtiari Nejad

And when he headed toward Midian, he said: “Perhaps my Lord guides me to the right way.”

walammā tawajjaha til'qāa madyana qāla ʿasā rabbī an yahdiyanī sawāa l-sabīl

وَلَمَّا وَرَدَ مَاۤءَ مَدۡیَنَ وَجَدَ عَلَیۡهِ أُمَّةࣰ مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ یَسۡقُونَ وَوَجَدَ مِن دُونِهِمُ ٱمۡرَأَتَیۡنِ تَذُودَانِۖ قَالَ مَا خَطۡبُكُمَاۖ قَالَتَا لَا نَسۡقِی حَتَّىٰ یُصۡدِرَ ٱلرِّعَاۤءُۖ وَأَبُونَا شَیۡخࣱ كَبِیرࣱ ۝٢٣

Bakhtiari Nejad

And when he reached Midian’s water, he found a group of people watering (their animals) from it, and he found two women holding back (their animals) away from them. He said: “What do you want?” They said: “We cannot water (our animals) until the shepherds drive (their animals) away, and our father (Shu’aib/Jethro) is a very old man.”

walammā warada māa madyana wajada ʿalayhi ummatan mina l-nāsi yasqūna wawajada min dūnihimu im'ra-atayni tadhūdāni qāla mā khaṭbukumā qālatā lā nasqī ḥattā yuṣ'dira l-riʿāu wa-abūnā shaykhun kabīru

فَسَقَىٰ لَهُمَا ثُمَّ تَوَلَّىٰۤ إِلَى ٱلظِّلِّ فَقَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّی لِمَاۤ أَنزَلۡتَ إِلَیَّ مِنۡ خَیۡرࣲ فَقِیرࣱ ۝٢٤

Bakhtiari Nejad

So, he watered (their animals) for them, then he went back to the shade and said: “My Lord, indeed I am in need of anything good you send down to me.”

fasaqā lahumā thumma tawallā ilā l-ẓili faqāla rabbi innī limā anzalta ilayya min khayrin faqīru

فَجَاۤءَتۡهُ إِحۡدَىٰهُمَا تَمۡشِی عَلَى ٱسۡتِحۡیَاۤءࣲ قَالَتۡ إِنَّ أَبِی یَدۡعُوكَ لِیَجۡزِیَكَ أَجۡرَ مَا سَقَیۡتَ لَنَاۚ فَلَمَّا جَاۤءَهُۥ وَقَصَّ عَلَیۡهِ ٱلۡقَصَصَ قَالَ لَا تَخَفۡۖ نَجَوۡتَ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝٢٥

Bakhtiari Nejad

Then one of the two women came to him walking bashfully, and said: “My father invites you to pay your wage for watering for us.” So, when he came up to him and told him the story, he said: “Do not be afraid, you are safe from the wrongdoing people.”

fajāathu iḥ'dāhumā tamshī ʿalā is'tiḥ'yāin qālat inna abī yadʿūka liyajziyaka ajra mā saqayta lanā falammā jāahu waqaṣṣa ʿalayhi l-qaṣaṣa qāla lā takhaf najawta mina l-qawmi l-ẓālimīn

قَالَتۡ إِحۡدَىٰهُمَا یَـٰۤأَبَتِ ٱسۡتَءۡجِرۡهُۖ إِنَّ خَیۡرَ مَنِ ٱسۡتَءۡجَرۡتَ ٱلۡقَوِیُّ ٱلۡأَمِینُ ۝٢٦

Bakhtiari Nejad

One of the two women said: “My father, hire him, indeed the best one to hire is the strong and the honest one.”

qālat iḥ'dāhumā yāabati is'tajir'hu inna khayra mani is'tajarta l-qawiyu l-amīn

قَالَ إِنِّیۤ أُرِیدُ أَنۡ أُنكِحَكَ إِحۡدَى ٱبۡنَتَیَّ هَـٰتَیۡنِ عَلَىٰۤ أَن تَأۡجُرَنِی ثَمَـٰنِیَ حِجَجࣲۖ فَإِنۡ أَتۡمَمۡتَ عَشۡرࣰا فَمِنۡ عِندِكَۖ وَمَاۤ أُرِیدُ أَنۡ أَشُقَّ عَلَیۡكَۚ سَتَجِدُنِیۤ إِن شَاۤءَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِینَ ۝٢٧

Bakhtiari Nejad

He said: “I want to marry off one of my two daughters to you, on condition that you work for me eight years, and if you complete ten, it is of your own choice, and I do not want to make it difficult for you, God willing, you are going to find me of the righteous.”

qāla innī urīdu an unkiḥaka iḥ'dā ib'natayya hātayni ʿalā an tajuranī thamāniya ḥijajin fa-in atmamta ʿashran famin ʿindika wamā urīdu an ashuqqa ʿalayka satajidunī in shāa l-lahu mina l-ṣāliḥīn

قَالَ ذَ ٰلِكَ بَیۡنِی وَبَیۡنَكَۖ أَیَّمَا ٱلۡأَجَلَیۡنِ قَضَیۡتُ فَلَا عُدۡوَ ٰنَ عَلَیَّۖ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ مَا نَقُولُ وَكِیلࣱ ۝٢٨

Bakhtiari Nejad

He (Moses) said: “This is (an agreement) between me and you, whichever of the two periods I complete, there should be no hostility against me, and God is the trustee over what we say.”

qāla dhālika baynī wabaynaka ayyamā l-ajalayni qaḍaytu falā ʿud'wāna ʿalayya wal-lahu ʿalā mā naqūlu wakīlu

4 History of Moses

۞ فَلَمَّا قَضَىٰ مُوسَى ٱلۡأَجَلَ وَسَارَ بِأَهۡلِهِۦۤ ءَانَسَ مِن جَانِبِ ٱلطُّورِ نَارࣰاۖ قَالَ لِأَهۡلِهِ ٱمۡكُثُوۤا۟ إِنِّیۤ ءَانَسۡتُ نَارࣰا لَّعَلِّیۤ ءَاتِیكُم مِّنۡهَا بِخَبَرٍ أَوۡ جَذۡوَةࣲ مِّنَ ٱلنَّارِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَصۡطَلُونَ ۝٢٩

Bakhtiari Nejad

So, when Moses completed the term and was traveling with his family, he noticed a fire from the side of the mountain (Mount Sinai). He said to his family: “Wait, I noticed a fire, maybe I can bring some news from it, or a piece of fire so you may warm yourselves.”

falammā qaḍā mūsā l-ajala wasāra bi-ahlihi ānasa min jānibi l-ṭūri nāran qāla li-ahlihi um'kuthū innī ānastu nāran laʿallī ātīkum min'hā bikhabarin aw jadhwatin mina l-nāri laʿallakum taṣṭalūn

فَلَمَّاۤ أَتَىٰهَا نُودِیَ مِن شَـٰطِىِٕ ٱلۡوَادِ ٱلۡأَیۡمَنِ فِی ٱلۡبُقۡعَةِ ٱلۡمُبَـٰرَكَةِ مِنَ ٱلشَّجَرَةِ أَن یَـٰمُوسَىٰۤ إِنِّیۤ أَنَا ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلۡعَـٰلَمِینَ ۝٣٠

Bakhtiari Nejad

So, when he came up to it, he was called from the tree in a blessed spot on the right side of the valley: “Moses, indeed I am God, the Lord of humankind,

falammā atāhā nūdiya min shāṭi-i l-wādi l-aymani fī l-buq'ʿati l-mubārakati mina l-shajarati an yāmūsā innī anā l-lahu rabbu l-ʿālamīn

وَأَنۡ أَلۡقِ عَصَاكَۚ فَلَمَّا رَءَاهَا تَهۡتَزُّ كَأَنَّهَا جَاۤنࣱّ وَلَّىٰ مُدۡبِرࣰا وَلَمۡ یُعَقِّبۡۚ یَـٰمُوسَىٰۤ أَقۡبِلۡ وَلَا تَخَفۡۖ إِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلۡءَامِنِینَ ۝٣١

Bakhtiari Nejad

throw down your cane.” So, when he saw it moving as if it was a serpent, he turned back running away and he did not look back. (He was told:) “Moses, come close and do not be afraid, indeed you are of the ones in safety.

wa-an alqi ʿaṣāka falammā raāhā tahtazzu ka-annahā jānnun wallā mud'biran walam yuʿaqqib yāmūsā aqbil walā takhaf innaka mina l-āminīn

ٱسۡلُكۡ یَدَكَ فِی جَیۡبِكَ تَخۡرُجۡ بَیۡضَاۤءَ مِنۡ غَیۡرِ سُوۤءࣲ وَٱضۡمُمۡ إِلَیۡكَ جَنَاحَكَ مِنَ ٱلرَّهۡبِۖ فَذَ ٰنِكَ بُرۡهَـٰنَانِ مِن رَّبِّكَ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ وَمَلَإِی۟هِۦۤۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُوا۟ قَوۡمࣰا فَـٰسِقِینَ ۝٣٢

Bakhtiari Nejad

Insert your hand into the opening of your shirt, it comes out white without any disease, and press your arm to yourself (to be free) from fear. These are two proofs from your Lord for Pharaoh and his assembly. They are indeed disobedient people.”

us'luk yadaka fī jaybika takhruj bayḍāa min ghayri sūin wa-uḍ'mum ilayka janāḥaka mina l-rahbi fadhānika bur'hānāni min rabbika ilā fir'ʿawna wamala-ihi innahum kānū qawman fāsiqīn

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّی قَتَلۡتُ مِنۡهُمۡ نَفۡسࣰا فَأَخَافُ أَن یَقۡتُلُونِ ۝٣٣

Bakhtiari Nejad

He said: “My Lord, I killed one of them so I am afraid that they will kill me,

qāla rabbi innī qataltu min'hum nafsan fa-akhāfu an yaqtulūn

وَأَخِی هَـٰرُونُ هُوَ أَفۡصَحُ مِنِّی لِسَانࣰا فَأَرۡسِلۡهُ مَعِیَ رِدۡءࣰا یُصَدِّقُنِیۤۖ إِنِّیۤ أَخَافُ أَن یُكَذِّبُونِ ۝٣٤

Bakhtiari Nejad

and my brother Aaron, he is more eloquent in language than me, so send him with me as a support to confirm me, indeed I am afraid that they deny me.”

wa-akhī hārūnu huwa afṣaḥu minnī lisānan fa-arsil'hu maʿiya rid'an yuṣaddiqunī innī akhāfu an yukadhibūn

قَالَ سَنَشُدُّ عَضُدَكَ بِأَخِیكَ وَنَجۡعَلُ لَكُمَا سُلۡطَـٰنࣰا فَلَا یَصِلُونَ إِلَیۡكُمَا بِءَایَـٰتِنَاۤۚ أَنتُمَا وَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكُمَا ٱلۡغَـٰلِبُونَ ۝٣٥

Bakhtiari Nejad

He (God) said: “We are going to strengthen your arm with your brother, and We give you both a reason so they would not touch either of you, and because of Our miracles you two and those who follow you will be the winners.”

qāla sanashuddu ʿaḍudaka bi-akhīka wanajʿalu lakumā sul'ṭānan falā yaṣilūna ilaykumā biāyātinā antumā wamani ittabaʿakumā l-ghālibūn

فَلَمَّا جَاۤءَهُم مُّوسَىٰ بِءَایَـٰتِنَا بَیِّنَـٰتࣲ قَالُوا۟ مَا هَـٰذَاۤ إِلَّا سِحۡرࣱ مُّفۡتَرࣰى وَمَا سَمِعۡنَا بِهَـٰذَا فِیۤ ءَابَاۤىِٕنَا ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ ۝٣٦

Bakhtiari Nejad

So, when Moses came up to them with Our clear signs, they said: “This is nothing but fabricated magic, and we did not hear of this from our forefathers.”

falammā jāahum mūsā biāyātinā bayyinātin qālū mā hādhā illā siḥ'run muf'taran wamā samiʿ'nā bihādhā fī ābāinā l-awalīn

وَقَالَ مُوسَىٰ رَبِّیۤ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَن جَاۤءَ بِٱلۡهُدَىٰ مِنۡ عِندِهِۦ وَمَن تَكُونُ لَهُۥ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلدَّارِۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا یُفۡلِحُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ ۝٣٧

Bakhtiari Nejad

And Moses said: “My Lord knows best who brings the guidance from Him, and who has the final home, indeed the wrongdoers would not succeed.”

waqāla mūsā rabbī aʿlamu biman jāa bil-hudā min ʿindihi waman takūnu lahu ʿāqibatu l-dāri innahu lā yuf'liḥu l-ẓālimūn

وَقَالَ فِرۡعَوۡنُ یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلۡمَلَأُ مَا عَلِمۡتُ لَكُم مِّنۡ إِلَـٰهٍ غَیۡرِی فَأَوۡقِدۡ لِی یَـٰهَـٰمَـٰنُ عَلَى ٱلطِّینِ فَٱجۡعَل لِّی صَرۡحࣰا لَّعَلِّیۤ أَطَّلِعُ إِلَىٰۤ إِلَـٰهِ مُوسَىٰ وَإِنِّی لَأَظُنُّهُۥ مِنَ ٱلۡكَـٰذِبِینَ ۝٣٨

Bakhtiari Nejad

And Pharaoh said: “Counselors, I do not know of any god for you other than me, so Haman light me a fire for me over the clay (to bake bricks), then make me a palace so I may look at god of Moses, and indeed I think of him as one of the liars.”

waqāla fir'ʿawnu yāayyuhā l-mala-u mā ʿalim'tu lakum min ilāhin ghayrī fa-awqid lī yāhāmānu ʿalā l-ṭīni fa-ij'ʿal lī ṣarḥan laʿallī aṭṭaliʿu ilā ilāhi mūsā wa-innī la-aẓunnuhu mina l-kādhibīn

وَٱسۡتَكۡبَرَ هُوَ وَجُنُودُهُۥ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ بِغَیۡرِ ٱلۡحَقِّ وَظَنُّوۤا۟ أَنَّهُمۡ إِلَیۡنَا لَا یُرۡجَعُونَ ۝٣٩

Bakhtiari Nejad

And he and his troops were unjustifiably arrogant on the land, and they assumed that they would not be returned to Us.

wa-is'takbara huwa wajunūduhu fī l-arḍi bighayri l-ḥaqi waẓannū annahum ilaynā lā yur'jaʿūn

فَأَخَذۡنَـٰهُ وَجُنُودَهُۥ فَنَبَذۡنَـٰهُمۡ فِی ٱلۡیَمِّۖ فَٱنظُرۡ كَیۡفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝٤٠

Bakhtiari Nejad

So, We took him and his troops, and We threw them into the sea. So, see what the end of the wrongdoers was.

fa-akhadhnāhu wajunūdahu fanabadhnāhum fī l-yami fa-unẓur kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu l-ẓālimīn

وَجَعَلۡنَـٰهُمۡ أَىِٕمَّةࣰ یَدۡعُونَ إِلَى ٱلنَّارِۖ وَیَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِ لَا یُنصَرُونَ ۝٤١

Bakhtiari Nejad

And We made them leaders, inviting (people) to the fire, and they will not be helped on the Resurrection Day.

wajaʿalnāhum a-immatan yadʿūna ilā l-nāri wayawma l-qiyāmati lā yunṣarūn

وَأَتۡبَعۡنَـٰهُمۡ فِی هَـٰذِهِ ٱلدُّنۡیَا لَعۡنَةࣰۖ وَیَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِ هُم مِّنَ ٱلۡمَقۡبُوحِینَ ۝٤٢

Bakhtiari Nejad

And We made a curse follow them in this world, and on the Resurrection Day they are among the ugly ones.

wa-atbaʿnāhum fī hādhihi l-dun'yā laʿnatan wayawma l-qiyāmati hum mina l-maqbūḥīn

5 A Prophet like Moses

وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَیۡنَا مُوسَى ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَاۤ أَهۡلَكۡنَا ٱلۡقُرُونَ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ بَصَاۤىِٕرَ لِلنَّاسِ وَهُدࣰى وَرَحۡمَةࣰ لَّعَلَّهُمۡ یَتَذَكَّرُونَ ۝٤٣

Bakhtiari Nejad

And We certainly gave Moses the book, after We had destroyed the earlier generations, as an insight and a guide and a mercy for people, so that they may take notice.

walaqad ātaynā mūsā l-kitāba min baʿdi mā ahlaknā l-qurūna l-ūlā baṣāira lilnnāsi wahudan waraḥmatan laʿallahum yatadhakkarūn

وَمَا كُنتَ بِجَانِبِ ٱلۡغَرۡبِیِّ إِذۡ قَضَیۡنَاۤ إِلَىٰ مُوسَى ٱلۡأَمۡرَ وَمَا كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلشَّـٰهِدِینَ ۝٤٤

Bakhtiari Nejad

And you were not on the western side (of the mountain) when We issued the order to Moses, and you were not of the witnesses.

wamā kunta bijānibi l-gharbiyi idh qaḍaynā ilā mūsā l-amra wamā kunta mina l-shāhidīn

وَلَـٰكِنَّاۤ أَنشَأۡنَا قُرُونࣰا فَتَطَاوَلَ عَلَیۡهِمُ ٱلۡعُمُرُۚ وَمَا كُنتَ ثَاوِیࣰا فِیۤ أَهۡلِ مَدۡیَنَ تَتۡلُوا۟ عَلَیۡهِمۡ ءَایَـٰتِنَا وَلَـٰكِنَّا كُنَّا مُرۡسِلِینَ ۝٤٥

Bakhtiari Nejad

And We created generations (after Moses), and life was lengthened for them. And you were not staying among people of Midian to read Our signs to them, but We are the sender (of messengers).

walākinnā anshanā qurūnan fataṭāwala ʿalayhimu l-ʿumuru wamā kunta thāwiyan fī ahli madyana tatlū ʿalayhim āyātinā walākinnā kunnā mur'silīn

وَمَا كُنتَ بِجَانِبِ ٱلطُّورِ إِذۡ نَادَیۡنَا وَلَـٰكِن رَّحۡمَةࣰ مِّن رَّبِّكَ لِتُنذِرَ قَوۡمࣰا مَّاۤ أَتَىٰهُم مِّن نَّذِیرࣲ مِّن قَبۡلِكَ لَعَلَّهُمۡ یَتَذَكَّرُونَ ۝٤٦

Bakhtiari Nejad

And you were not on the side of the mountain (Mount Sinai) when We called (Moses), but this is a mercy from your Lord to warn a (group of) people whom a warner did not come to them before you, so they may take notice.

wamā kunta bijānibi l-ṭūri idh nādaynā walākin raḥmatan min rabbika litundhira qawman mā atāhum min nadhīrin min qablika laʿallahum yatadhakkarūn

وَلَوۡلَاۤ أَن تُصِیبَهُم مُّصِیبَةُۢ بِمَا قَدَّمَتۡ أَیۡدِیهِمۡ فَیَقُولُوا۟ رَبَّنَا لَوۡلَاۤ أَرۡسَلۡتَ إِلَیۡنَا رَسُولࣰا فَنَتَّبِعَ ءَایَـٰتِكَ وَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ ۝٤٧

Bakhtiari Nejad

And if they suffer a tragedy because of what their hands have sent ahead (what they did), then they say: “Our Lord, why did You not send us a messenger, so we follow Your signs and we become of the believers?”

walawlā an tuṣībahum muṣībatun bimā qaddamat aydīhim fayaqūlū rabbanā lawlā arsalta ilaynā rasūlan fanattabiʿa āyātika wanakūna mina l-mu'minīn

فَلَمَّا جَاۤءَهُمُ ٱلۡحَقُّ مِنۡ عِندِنَا قَالُوا۟ لَوۡلَاۤ أُوتِیَ مِثۡلَ مَاۤ أُوتِیَ مُوسَىٰۤۚ أَوَ لَمۡ یَكۡفُرُوا۟ بِمَاۤ أُوتِیَ مُوسَىٰ مِن قَبۡلُۖ قَالُوا۟ سِحۡرَانِ تَظَـٰهَرَا وَقَالُوۤا۟ إِنَّا بِكُلࣲّ كَـٰفِرُونَ ۝٤٨

Bakhtiari Nejad

Then when the truth came to them from Us, they said: “Why was he not given (miracles) like what Moses was given?” Did they not previously disbelieve in what was given to Moses? They said: “Two magics (Torah and Quran) backing each other up. And they said: “Indeed we are disbelievers to all.”

falammā jāahumu l-ḥaqu min ʿindinā qālū lawlā ūtiya mith'la mā ūtiya mūsā awalam yakfurū bimā ūtiya mūsā min qablu qālū siḥ'rāni taẓāharā waqālū innā bikullin kāfirūn

قُلۡ فَأۡتُوا۟ بِكِتَـٰبࣲ مِّنۡ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ هُوَ أَهۡدَىٰ مِنۡهُمَاۤ أَتَّبِعۡهُ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَـٰدِقِینَ ۝٤٩

Bakhtiari Nejad

Say: “If you are truthful, then bring a book from God which is a better guide than them, so that I follow it, if you are truthful.”

qul fatū bikitābin min ʿindi l-lahi huwa ahdā min'humā attabiʿ'hu in kuntum ṣādiqīn

فَإِن لَّمۡ یَسۡتَجِیبُوا۟ لَكَ فَٱعۡلَمۡ أَنَّمَا یَتَّبِعُونَ أَهۡوَاۤءَهُمۡۚ وَمَنۡ أَضَلُّ مِمَّنِ ٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُ بِغَیۡرِ هُدࣰى مِّنَ ٱللَّهِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا یَهۡدِی ٱلۡقَوۡمَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝٥٠

Bakhtiari Nejad

So, if they did not answer you, then know that they only follow their desires (and opinions). And who is more mistaken than someone who follows his desire (and opinion) without guidance from God? Indeed, God does not guide the wrongdoing people.

fa-in lam yastajībū laka fa-iʿ'lam annamā yattabiʿūna ahwāahum waman aḍallu mimmani ittabaʿa hawāhu bighayri hudan mina l-lahi inna l-laha lā yahdī l-qawma l-ẓālimīn

6 Truth of Revelation

۞ وَلَقَدۡ وَصَّلۡنَا لَهُمُ ٱلۡقَوۡلَ لَعَلَّهُمۡ یَتَذَكَّرُونَ ۝٥١

Bakhtiari Nejad

And We have certainly communicated the word to them so they may take notice.

walaqad waṣṣalnā lahumu l-qawla laʿallahum yatadhakkarūn

ٱلَّذِینَ ءَاتَیۡنَـٰهُمُ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ مِن قَبۡلِهِۦ هُم بِهِۦ یُؤۡمِنُونَ ۝٥٢

Bakhtiari Nejad

Those to whom We gave the book before it, they believe in it.

alladhīna ātaynāhumu l-kitāba min qablihi hum bihi yu'minūn

وَإِذَا یُتۡلَىٰ عَلَیۡهِمۡ قَالُوۤا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦۤ إِنَّهُ ٱلۡحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّنَاۤ إِنَّا كُنَّا مِن قَبۡلِهِۦ مُسۡلِمِینَ ۝٥٣

Bakhtiari Nejad

And when it is read to them, they say: “We believe in it, indeed it is the truth from our Lord, indeed we were submitted before it.”

wa-idhā yut'lā ʿalayhim qālū āmannā bihi innahu l-ḥaqu min rabbinā innā kunnā min qablihi mus'limīn

أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ یُؤۡتَوۡنَ أَجۡرَهُم مَّرَّتَیۡنِ بِمَا صَبَرُوا۟ وَیَدۡرَءُونَ بِٱلۡحَسَنَةِ ٱلسَّیِّئَةَ وَمِمَّا رَزَقۡنَـٰهُمۡ یُنفِقُونَ ۝٥٤

Bakhtiari Nejad

They are given their reward twice as much because they are patient and they counter badness with goodness and they spend (in charity) from what We provide them,

ulāika yu'tawna ajrahum marratayni bimā ṣabarū wayadraūna bil-ḥasanati l-sayi-ata wamimmā razaqnāhum yunfiqūn

وَإِذَا سَمِعُوا۟ ٱللَّغۡوَ أَعۡرَضُوا۟ عَنۡهُ وَقَالُوا۟ لَنَاۤ أَعۡمَـٰلُنَا وَلَكُمۡ أَعۡمَـٰلُكُمۡ سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَیۡكُمۡ لَا نَبۡتَغِی ٱلۡجَـٰهِلِینَ ۝٥٥

Bakhtiari Nejad

and when they hear useless (talk) they stay away from it and say: “Our deeds are for us and your deeds are for you, peace (and well-being) upon you, we do not want (to have anything to do with) the ignorant ones.”

wa-idhā samiʿū l-laghwa aʿraḍū ʿanhu waqālū lanā aʿmālunā walakum aʿmālukum salāmun ʿalaykum lā nabtaghī l-jāhilīn

إِنَّكَ لَا تَهۡدِی مَنۡ أَحۡبَبۡتَ وَلَـٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ یَهۡدِی مَن یَشَاۤءُۚ وَهُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِٱلۡمُهۡتَدِینَ ۝٥٦

Bakhtiari Nejad

Indeed, you cannot guide anyone you like, but God guides anyone He wants, and He knows best who the guided ones are.

innaka lā tahdī man aḥbabta walākinna l-laha yahdī man yashāu wahuwa aʿlamu bil-muh'tadīn

وَقَالُوۤا۟ إِن نَّتَّبِعِ ٱلۡهُدَىٰ مَعَكَ نُتَخَطَّفۡ مِنۡ أَرۡضِنَاۤۚ أَوَ لَمۡ نُمَكِّن لَّهُمۡ حَرَمًا ءَامِنࣰا یُجۡبَىٰۤ إِلَیۡهِ ثَمَرَ ٰتُ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ رِّزۡقࣰا مِّن لَّدُنَّا وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ لَا یَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٥٧

Bakhtiari Nejad

And they say: “If we follow the guidance with you, we will be driven out of our land.” Did We not establish them in a safe sanctuary, to which fruits of everything are brought as provision from Us? But most of them do not know.

waqālū in nattabiʿi l-hudā maʿaka nutakhaṭṭaf min arḍinā awalam numakkin lahum ḥaraman āminan yuj'bā ilayhi thamarātu kulli shayin riz'qan min ladunnā walākinna aktharahum lā yaʿlamūn

وَكَمۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا مِن قَرۡیَةِۭ بَطِرَتۡ مَعِیشَتَهَاۖ فَتِلۡكَ مَسَـٰكِنُهُمۡ لَمۡ تُسۡكَن مِّنۢ بَعۡدِهِمۡ إِلَّا قَلِیلࣰاۖ وَكُنَّا نَحۡنُ ٱلۡوَ ٰرِثِینَ ۝٥٨

Bakhtiari Nejad

And how many towns did We destroy that rejoiced (excessively) in their livelihood (and wealth)? So, those are their houses, uninhabited after them, except a few, and We are the inheritors.

wakam ahlaknā min qaryatin baṭirat maʿīshatahā fatil'ka masākinuhum lam tus'kan min baʿdihim illā qalīlan wakunnā naḥnu l-wārithīn

وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ مُهۡلِكَ ٱلۡقُرَىٰ حَتَّىٰ یَبۡعَثَ فِیۤ أُمِّهَا رَسُولࣰا یَتۡلُوا۟ عَلَیۡهِمۡ ءَایَـٰتِنَاۚ وَمَا كُنَّا مُهۡلِكِی ٱلۡقُرَىٰۤ إِلَّا وَأَهۡلُهَا ظَـٰلِمُونَ ۝٥٩

Bakhtiari Nejad

And your Lord is not destroyer of the towns until He raises a messenger in their center, reading them Our signs. And We are not destroyer of the towns unless their people are wrongdoers.

wamā kāna rabbuka muh'lika l-qurā ḥattā yabʿatha fī ummihā rasūlan yatlū ʿalayhim āyātinā wamā kunnā muh'likī l-qurā illā wa-ahluhā ẓālimūn

وَمَاۤ أُوتِیتُم مِّن شَیۡءࣲ فَمَتَـٰعُ ٱلۡحَیَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡیَا وَزِینَتُهَاۚ وَمَا عِندَ ٱللَّهِ خَیۡرࣱ وَأَبۡقَىٰۤۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ ۝٦٠

Bakhtiari Nejad

And everything you are given is enjoyment of this world’s life and its decoration (and luxuries), and whatever (reward) is with God is better and more lasting. Do you not understand?

wamā ūtītum min shayin famatāʿu l-ḥayati l-dun'yā wazīnatuhā wamā ʿinda l-lahi khayrun wa-abqā afalā taʿqilūn

7 Opponents shall be brought low

أَفَمَن وَعَدۡنَـٰهُ وَعۡدًا حَسَنࣰا فَهُوَ لَـٰقِیهِ كَمَن مَّتَّعۡنَـٰهُ مَتَـٰعَ ٱلۡحَیَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡیَا ثُمَّ هُوَ یَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِ مِنَ ٱلۡمُحۡضَرِینَ ۝٦١

Bakhtiari Nejad

Is someone whom We have promised him a good promise and he attains it, the same as someone whom We have made him enjoy the enjoyments of this world’s life, then on the Resurrection Day he is among the summoned ones?

afaman waʿadnāhu waʿdan ḥasanan fahuwa lāqīhi kaman mattaʿnāhu matāʿa l-ḥayati l-dun'yā thumma huwa yawma l-qiyāmati mina l-muḥ'ḍarīn

وَیَوۡمَ یُنَادِیهِمۡ فَیَقُولُ أَیۡنَ شُرَكَاۤءِیَ ٱلَّذِینَ كُنتُمۡ تَزۡعُمُونَ ۝٦٢

Bakhtiari Nejad

On the day He calls them out and He says: “Where are My partners, the ones you were claiming?”

wayawma yunādīhim fayaqūlu ayna shurakāiya alladhīna kuntum tazʿumūn

قَالَ ٱلَّذِینَ حَقَّ عَلَیۡهِمُ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ رَبَّنَا هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ ٱلَّذِینَ أَغۡوَیۡنَاۤ أَغۡوَیۡنَـٰهُمۡ كَمَا غَوَیۡنَاۖ تَبَرَّأۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡكَۖ مَا كَانُوۤا۟ إِیَّانَا یَعۡبُدُونَ ۝٦٣

Bakhtiari Nejad

Those who deserve the word (of punishment) will say: “Our Lord, these are the ones whom we misled, we misled them as we were misled, we clear ourselves (from them) before You, they were not serving us.”

qāla alladhīna ḥaqqa ʿalayhimu l-qawlu rabbanā hāulāi alladhīna aghwaynā aghwaynāhum kamā ghawaynā tabarranā ilayka mā kānū iyyānā yaʿbudūn

وَقِیلَ ٱدۡعُوا۟ شُرَكَاۤءَكُمۡ فَدَعَوۡهُمۡ فَلَمۡ یَسۡتَجِیبُوا۟ لَهُمۡ وَرَأَوُا۟ ٱلۡعَذَابَۚ لَوۡ أَنَّهُمۡ كَانُوا۟ یَهۡتَدُونَ ۝٦٤

Bakhtiari Nejad

And it will be said: “Call on your partners (of God).” So, they call them, but they do not answer them and they see the punishment, (and they wish) if only they were guided.

waqīla id'ʿū shurakāakum fadaʿawhum falam yastajībū lahum wara-awū l-ʿadhāba law annahum kānū yahtadūn

وَیَوۡمَ یُنَادِیهِمۡ فَیَقُولُ مَاذَاۤ أَجَبۡتُمُ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِینَ ۝٦٥

Bakhtiari Nejad

And on the day He calls them out, then He says: “What did you answer the messengers?”

wayawma yunādīhim fayaqūlu mādhā ajabtumu l-mur'salīn

فَعَمِیَتۡ عَلَیۡهِمُ ٱلۡأَنۢبَاۤءُ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ فَهُمۡ لَا یَتَسَاۤءَلُونَ ۝٦٦

Bakhtiari Nejad

On that day the information is unclear to them, so they do not (even) ask each other.

faʿamiyat ʿalayhimu l-anbāu yawma-idhin fahum lā yatasāalūn

فَأَمَّا مَن تَابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَـٰلِحࣰا فَعَسَىٰۤ أَن یَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُفۡلِحِینَ ۝٦٧

Bakhtiari Nejad

As for anyone who repented and believed and did good, perhaps he will be among the successful ones.

fa-ammā man tāba waāmana waʿamila ṣāliḥan faʿasā an yakūna mina l-muf'liḥīn

وَرَبُّكَ یَخۡلُقُ مَا یَشَاۤءُ وَیَخۡتَارُۗ مَا كَانَ لَهُمُ ٱلۡخِیَرَةُۚ سُبۡحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ وَتَعَـٰلَىٰ عَمَّا یُشۡرِكُونَ ۝٦٨

Bakhtiari Nejad

And your Lord creates whatever He wants and chooses. There is no choice for them. God is flawless and is above what they associate (with Him).

warabbuka yakhluqu mā yashāu wayakhtāru mā kāna lahumu l-khiyaratu sub'ḥāna l-lahi wataʿālā ʿammā yush'rikūn

وَرَبُّكَ یَعۡلَمُ مَا تُكِنُّ صُدُورُهُمۡ وَمَا یُعۡلِنُونَ ۝٦٩

Bakhtiari Nejad

And your Lord knows what their chests/minds hide and what they disclose.

warabbuka yaʿlamu mā tukinnu ṣudūruhum wamā yuʿ'linūn

وَهُوَ ٱللَّهُ لَاۤ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۖ لَهُ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ فِی ٱلۡأُولَىٰ وَٱلۡءَاخِرَةِۖ وَلَهُ ٱلۡحُكۡمُ وَإِلَیۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ ۝٧٠

Bakhtiari Nejad

And He is God, there is no god except Him, all praise in the first (this life) and the last (the Hereafter) belongs to Him, and the command (and judgment) belongs to Him, and you are returned to Him.

wahuwa l-lahu lā ilāha illā huwa lahu l-ḥamdu fī l-ūlā wal-ākhirati walahu l-ḥuk'mu wa-ilayhi tur'jaʿūn

قُلۡ أَرَءَیۡتُمۡ إِن جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَیۡكُمُ ٱلَّیۡلَ سَرۡمَدًا إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِ مَنۡ إِلَـٰهٌ غَیۡرُ ٱللَّهِ یَأۡتِیكُم بِضِیَاۤءٍۚ أَفَلَا تَسۡمَعُونَ ۝٧١

Bakhtiari Nejad

Say: “What do you think if God makes the night continuous over you until the Resurrection Day, what god other than God brings you light? Do you not listen?”

qul ara-aytum in jaʿala l-lahu ʿalaykumu al-layla sarmadan ilā yawmi l-qiyāmati man ilāhun ghayru l-lahi yatīkum biḍiyāin afalā tasmaʿūn

قُلۡ أَرَءَیۡتُمۡ إِن جَعَلَ ٱللَّهُ عَلَیۡكُمُ ٱلنَّهَارَ سَرۡمَدًا إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِ مَنۡ إِلَـٰهٌ غَیۡرُ ٱللَّهِ یَأۡتِیكُم بِلَیۡلࣲ تَسۡكُنُونَ فِیهِۚ أَفَلَا تُبۡصِرُونَ ۝٧٢

Bakhtiari Nejad

Say: “What do you think if God makes the day continuous over you until the Resurrection Day, what god other than God brings you the night to rest in it? Do you not see?”

qul ara-aytum in jaʿala l-lahu ʿalaykumu l-nahāra sarmadan ilā yawmi l-qiyāmati man ilāhun ghayru l-lahi yatīkum bilaylin taskunūna fīhi afalā tub'ṣirūn

وَمِن رَّحۡمَتِهِۦ جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّیۡلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ لِتَسۡكُنُوا۟ فِیهِ وَلِتَبۡتَغُوا۟ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُونَ ۝٧٣

Bakhtiari Nejad

And He made the night and the day for you by His mercy in order for you to rest in it and to pursue His bounty, and you may be thankful.

wamin raḥmatihi jaʿala lakumu al-layla wal-nahāra litaskunū fīhi walitabtaghū min faḍlihi walaʿallakum tashkurūn

وَیَوۡمَ یُنَادِیهِمۡ فَیَقُولُ أَیۡنَ شُرَكَاۤءِیَ ٱلَّذِینَ كُنتُمۡ تَزۡعُمُونَ ۝٧٤

Bakhtiari Nejad

On a day when He calls them out, then He says: “Where are My partners, those whom you were claiming?”

wayawma yunādīhim fayaqūlu ayna shurakāiya alladhīna kuntum tazʿumūn

وَنَزَعۡنَا مِن كُلِّ أُمَّةࣲ شَهِیدࣰا فَقُلۡنَا هَاتُوا۟ بُرۡهَـٰنَكُمۡ فَعَلِمُوۤا۟ أَنَّ ٱلۡحَقَّ لِلَّهِ وَضَلَّ عَنۡهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ یَفۡتَرُونَ ۝٧٥

Bakhtiari Nejad

And We pull out a witness from every group, then We say: “Bring your proof.” Then they will know that the truth belongs to God, and what they used to fabricate has abandoned them.

wanazaʿnā min kulli ummatin shahīdan faqul'nā hātū bur'hānakum faʿalimū anna l-ḥaqa lillahi waḍalla ʿanhum mā kānū yaftarūn

8 Korah's wealth ruins him

۞ إِنَّ قَـٰرُونَ كَانَ مِن قَوۡمِ مُوسَىٰ فَبَغَىٰ عَلَیۡهِمۡۖ وَءَاتَیۡنَـٰهُ مِنَ ٱلۡكُنُوزِ مَاۤ إِنَّ مَفَاتِحَهُۥ لَتَنُوۤأُ بِٱلۡعُصۡبَةِ أُو۟لِی ٱلۡقُوَّةِ إِذۡ قَالَ لَهُۥ قَوۡمُهُۥ لَا تَفۡرَحۡۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا یُحِبُّ ٱلۡفَرِحِینَ ۝٧٦

Bakhtiari Nejad

Indeed Qarun (Korah) was among Moses’ people, and he was unjust toward them. And We gave him (so much) of the treasures that their keys were too heavy for a group of strong men. When his people said to him: “Do not be overjoyed, indeed God does not like those who are overjoyed,

inna qārūna kāna min qawmi mūsā fabaghā ʿalayhim waātaynāhu mina l-kunūzi mā inna mafātiḥahu latanūu bil-ʿuṣ'bati ulī l-quwati idh qāla lahu qawmuhu lā tafraḥ inna l-laha lā yuḥibbu l-fariḥīn

وَٱبۡتَغِ فِیمَاۤ ءَاتَىٰكَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلدَّارَ ٱلۡءَاخِرَةَۖ وَلَا تَنسَ نَصِیبَكَ مِنَ ٱلدُّنۡیَاۖ وَأَحۡسِن كَمَاۤ أَحۡسَنَ ٱللَّهُ إِلَیۡكَۖ وَلَا تَبۡغِ ٱلۡفَسَادَ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا یُحِبُّ ٱلۡمُفۡسِدِینَ ۝٧٧

Bakhtiari Nejad

and pursue the home of the Hereafter by what God has given you, and do not forget your share of this world, and do good as God did good to you, and do not pursue corruption in the land, indeed God does not like the corruptors.”

wa-ib'taghi fīmā ātāka l-lahu l-dāra l-ākhirata walā tansa naṣībaka mina l-dun'yā wa-aḥsin kamā aḥsana l-lahu ilayka walā tabghi l-fasāda fī l-arḍi inna l-laha lā yuḥibbu l-muf'sidīn

قَالَ إِنَّمَاۤ أُوتِیتُهُۥ عَلَىٰ عِلۡمٍ عِندِیۤۚ أَوَ لَمۡ یَعۡلَمۡ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ قَدۡ أَهۡلَكَ مِن قَبۡلِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلۡقُرُونِ مَنۡ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنۡهُ قُوَّةࣰ وَأَكۡثَرُ جَمۡعࣰاۚ وَلَا یُسۡءَلُ عَن ذُنُوبِهِمُ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ ۝٧٨

Bakhtiari Nejad

He said: “It was only given to me because of my knowledge.” Did he not know that God has destroyed (many) generations before him that were more powerful than him and more than him in collecting (wealth and manpower)? And the guilty ones will not be questioned about their sins.

qāla innamā ūtītuhu ʿalā ʿil'min ʿindī awalam yaʿlam anna l-laha qad ahlaka min qablihi mina l-qurūni man huwa ashaddu min'hu quwwatan wa-aktharu jamʿan walā yus'alu ʿan dhunūbihimu l-muj'rimūn

فَخَرَجَ عَلَىٰ قَوۡمِهِۦ فِی زِینَتِهِۦۖ قَالَ ٱلَّذِینَ یُرِیدُونَ ٱلۡحَیَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡیَا یَـٰلَیۡتَ لَنَا مِثۡلَ مَاۤ أُوتِیَ قَـٰرُونُ إِنَّهُۥ لَذُو حَظٍّ عَظِیمࣲ ۝٧٩

Bakhtiari Nejad

Then (one day) he came out to his people (dressed) in his jewelry. Those who wanted this world’s life said: “We wish we had the same as what was given to Qarun (Korah), indeed he has a great fortune.”

fakharaja ʿalā qawmihi fī zīnatihi qāla alladhīna yurīdūna l-ḥayata l-dun'yā yālayta lanā mith'la mā ūtiya qārūnu innahu ladhū ḥaẓẓin ʿaẓīmi

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِینَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلۡعِلۡمَ وَیۡلَكُمۡ ثَوَابُ ٱللَّهِ خَیۡرࣱ لِّمَنۡ ءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ صَـٰلِحࣰاۚ وَلَا یُلَقَّىٰهَاۤ إِلَّا ٱلصَّـٰبِرُونَ ۝٨٠

Bakhtiari Nejad

And those who were given knowledge said: “Woe to you, God’s reward for anyone who believes and does good is better, and none gets it except those who persevere.”

waqāla alladhīna ūtū l-ʿil'ma waylakum thawābu l-lahi khayrun liman āmana waʿamila ṣāliḥan walā yulaqqāhā illā l-ṣābirūn

فَخَسَفۡنَا بِهِۦ وَبِدَارِهِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ فَمَا كَانَ لَهُۥ مِن فِئَةࣲ یَنصُرُونَهُۥ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُنتَصِرِینَ ۝٨١

Bakhtiari Nejad

So, We sank him and his house down into the earth, then he had nobody to help him besides God, and he could not help/defend himself.

fakhasafnā bihi wabidārihi l-arḍa famā kāna lahu min fi-atin yanṣurūnahu min dūni l-lahi wamā kāna mina l-muntaṣirīn

وَأَصۡبَحَ ٱلَّذِینَ تَمَنَّوۡا۟ مَكَانَهُۥ بِٱلۡأَمۡسِ یَقُولُونَ وَیۡكَأَنَّ ٱللَّهَ یَبۡسُطُ ٱلرِّزۡقَ لِمَن یَشَاۤءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِهِۦ وَیَقۡدِرُۖ لَوۡلَاۤ أَن مَّنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَیۡنَا لَخَسَفَ بِنَاۖ وَیۡكَأَنَّهُۥ لَا یُفۡلِحُ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرُونَ ۝٨٢

Bakhtiari Nejad

And those who desired his position in the day before began to say: “Wow, it seems like God increases and decreases the provision for any one of His servants that He wants, and if it was not for God’s favor upon us He would have sunk us down (into the earth), wow, it seems like the disbelievers would not succeed.”

wa-aṣbaḥa alladhīna tamannaw makānahu bil-amsi yaqūlūna wayka-anna l-laha yabsuṭu l-riz'qa liman yashāu min ʿibādihi wayaqdiru lawlā an manna l-lahu ʿalaynā lakhasafa binā wayka-annahu lā yuf'liḥu l-kāfirūn

9 The Prophet will return to Makkah

تِلۡكَ ٱلدَّارُ ٱلۡءَاخِرَةُ نَجۡعَلُهَا لِلَّذِینَ لَا یُرِیدُونَ عُلُوࣰّا فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَا فَسَادࣰاۚ وَٱلۡعَـٰقِبَةُ لِلۡمُتَّقِینَ ۝٨٣

Bakhtiari Nejad

That is the home of the Hereafter, We made it for those who do not want superiority or corruption on the earth. And the end belongs to those who are cautious (of God).

til'ka l-dāru l-ākhiratu najʿaluhā lilladhīna lā yurīdūna ʿuluwwan fī l-arḍi walā fasādan wal-ʿāqibatu lil'muttaqīn

مَن جَاۤءَ بِٱلۡحَسَنَةِ فَلَهُۥ خَیۡرࣱ مِّنۡهَاۖ وَمَن جَاۤءَ بِٱلسَّیِّئَةِ فَلَا یُجۡزَى ٱلَّذِینَ عَمِلُوا۟ ٱلسَّیِّءَاتِ إِلَّا مَا كَانُوا۟ یَعۡمَلُونَ ۝٨٤

Bakhtiari Nejad

Anyone who comes with the good (deed) then he will have a better (reward) than that, and anyone who comes with the bad (deed) then those who did bad deed will only be punished for what they used to do.

man jāa bil-ḥasanati falahu khayrun min'hā waman jāa bil-sayi-ati falā yuj'zā alladhīna ʿamilū l-sayiāti illā mā kānū yaʿmalūn

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِی فَرَضَ عَلَیۡكَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لَرَاۤدُّكَ إِلَىٰ مَعَادࣲۚ قُل رَّبِّیۤ أَعۡلَمُ مَن جَاۤءَ بِٱلۡهُدَىٰ وَمَنۡ هُوَ فِی ضَلَـٰلࣲ مُّبِینࣲ ۝٨٥

Bakhtiari Nejad

Indeed, the One Who mandated the Quran to you, certainly brings you back to place of return. Say: “My Lord knows best anyone who brought the guidance and anyone who is in obvious error.”

inna alladhī faraḍa ʿalayka l-qur'āna larādduka ilā maʿādin qul rabbī aʿlamu man jāa bil-hudā waman huwa fī ḍalālin mubīni

وَمَا كُنتَ تَرۡجُوۤا۟ أَن یُلۡقَىٰۤ إِلَیۡكَ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبُ إِلَّا رَحۡمَةࣰ مِّن رَّبِّكَۖ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ ظَهِیرࣰا لِّلۡكَـٰفِرِینَ ۝٨٦

Bakhtiari Nejad

And you did not expect (or hope) that the book will be given to you except as a mercy from your Lord, so do not be a supporter for the disbelievers.

wamā kunta tarjū an yul'qā ilayka l-kitābu illā raḥmatan min rabbika falā takūnanna ẓahīran lil'kāfirīn

وَلَا یَصُدُّنَّكَ عَنۡ ءَایَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ بَعۡدَ إِذۡ أُنزِلَتۡ إِلَیۡكَۖ وَٱدۡعُ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَۖ وَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِینَ ۝٨٧

Bakhtiari Nejad

And do not let them turn you away from God’s signs after it was sent down to you, and invite (people) to your Lord, and do not be of the idolaters.

walā yaṣuddunnaka ʿan āyāti l-lahi baʿda idh unzilat ilayka wa-ud'ʿu ilā rabbika walā takūnanna mina l-mush'rikīn

وَلَا تَدۡعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَۘ لَاۤ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۚ كُلُّ شَیۡءٍ هَالِكٌ إِلَّا وَجۡهَهُۥۚ لَهُ ٱلۡحُكۡمُ وَإِلَیۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ ۝٨٨

Bakhtiari Nejad

And do not call on another god with God, there is no god except Him. Everything perishes except His essence (and His being). The command (and judgment) belongs to Him, and you are returned to Him.

walā tadʿu maʿa l-lahi ilāhan ākhara lā ilāha illā huwa kullu shayin hālikun illā wajhahu lahu l-ḥuk'mu wa-ilayhi tur'jaʿūn
