67:1 ›
۞ تَبَـٰرَكَ ٱلَّذِی بِیَدِهِ ٱلۡمُلۡكُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ قَدِیرٌ ۝١
Amatul Rahman Omar
Blessed is He Who holds complete Supreme power. He is the Possessor of prudential power to do every desired thing
tabāraka alladhī biyadihi l-mul'ku wahuwa ʿalā kulli shayin qadīru
67:2 ›
ٱلَّذِی خَلَقَ ٱلۡمَوۡتَ وَٱلۡحَیَوٰةَ لِیَبۡلُوَكُمۡ أَیُّكُمۡ أَحۡسَنُ عَمَلࣰاۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِیزُ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ۝٢
Amatul Rahman Omar
It is He Who has created death and life so that He may reward you (after trying you as to) which of you excels in doing good deeds. He is the All-Mighty, the Great Protector
alladhī khalaqa l-mawta wal-ḥayata liyabluwakum ayyukum aḥsanu ʿamalan wahuwa l-ʿazīzu l-ghafūr
67:3 ›
ٱلَّذِی خَلَقَ سَبۡعَ سَمَـٰوَ ٰتࣲ طِبَاقࣰاۖ مَّا تَرَىٰ فِی خَلۡقِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِ مِن تَفَـٰوُتࣲۖ فَٱرۡجِعِ ٱلۡبَصَرَ هَلۡ تَرَىٰ مِن فُطُورࣲ ۝٣
Amatul Rahman Omar
It is He Who has created seven heavens, one upon another in conformity (with each other). You can see no flaw, no incongruity and no imperfection in the creation of the Most Gracious (God). Then look up once more (to heaven). Do you see any flaw
alladhī khalaqa sabʿa samāwātin ṭibāqan mā tarā fī khalqi l-raḥmāni min tafāwutin fa-ir'jiʿi l-baṣara hal tarā min fuṭūri
67:4 ›
ثُمَّ ٱرۡجِعِ ٱلۡبَصَرَ كَرَّتَیۡنِ یَنقَلِبۡ إِلَیۡكَ ٱلۡبَصَرُ خَاسِئࣰا وَهُوَ حَسِیرࣱ ۝٤
Amatul Rahman Omar
Look again and yet again (to find out any confusion in Divine law). (The result will only be that) your eye will return to you dazzled while it is weary (and you will be unable to find any discordance)
thumma ir'jiʿi l-baṣara karratayni yanqalib ilayka l-baṣaru khāsi-an wahuwa ḥasīru
67:5 ›
وَلَقَدۡ زَیَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَاۤءَ ٱلدُّنۡیَا بِمَصَـٰبِیحَ وَجَعَلۡنَـٰهَا رُجُومࣰا لِّلشَّیَـٰطِینِۖ وَأَعۡتَدۡنَا لَهُمۡ عَذَابَ ٱلسَّعِیرِ ۝٥
Amatul Rahman Omar
We have, certainly, adorned the lowest heaven with (stars-like) lamps and We have made them as means of conjecture for the evil ones (and the astrologers who invent good or bad omens from the movement of the stars). (Remember) We have prepared for these (soothesayers) the punishment of the blazing Fire
walaqad zayyannā l-samāa l-dun'yā bimaṣābīḥa wajaʿalnāhā rujūman lilshayāṭīni wa-aʿtadnā lahum ʿadhāba l-saʿīr
67:6 ›
وَلِلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ بِرَبِّهِمۡ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَۖ وَبِئۡسَ ٱلۡمَصِیرُ ۝٦
Amatul Rahman Omar
And there awaits the punishment of Gehenna for those who disbelieve in their Lord, what a horrid resort it is
walilladhīna kafarū birabbihim ʿadhābu jahannama wabi'sa l-maṣīr
67:7 ›
إِذَاۤ أُلۡقُوا۟ فِیهَا سَمِعُوا۟ لَهَا شَهِیقࣰا وَهِیَ تَفُورُ ۝٧
Amatul Rahman Omar
When they are cast therein they will hear its roaring and a loud moaning while it heaves up (boiling with them)
idhā ul'qū fīhā samiʿū lahā shahīqan wahiya tafūr
67:8 ›
تَكَادُ تَمَیَّزُ مِنَ ٱلۡغَیۡظِۖ كُلَّمَاۤ أُلۡقِیَ فِیهَا فَوۡجࣱ سَأَلَهُمۡ خَزَنَتُهَاۤ أَلَمۡ یَأۡتِكُمۡ نَذِیرࣱ ۝٨
Amatul Rahman Omar
It almost bursts with the intense fury (of the fire). As often as a host (of wrongdoers) is cast into it, its wardens will ask them, `Did no Warner come to you (from the Lord)?
takādu tamayyazu mina l-ghayẓi kullamā ul'qiya fīhā fawjun sa-alahum khazanatuhā alam yatikum nadhīru
67:9 ›
قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ قَدۡ جَاۤءَنَا نَذِیرࣱ فَكَذَّبۡنَا وَقُلۡنَا مَا نَزَّلَ ٱللَّهُ مِن شَیۡءٍ إِنۡ أَنتُمۡ إِلَّا فِی ضَلَـٰلࣲ كَبِیرࣲ ۝٩
Amatul Rahman Omar
They will say, `No doubt, a Warner did come to (warn) us but we cried lies (to him) and we said, "Allah has revealed nothing, you are only in great error".
qālū balā qad jāanā nadhīrun fakadhabnā waqul'nā mā nazzala l-lahu min shayin in antum illā fī ḍalālin kabīri
67:10 ›
وَقَالُوا۟ لَوۡ كُنَّا نَسۡمَعُ أَوۡ نَعۡقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِیۤ أَصۡحَـٰبِ ٱلسَّعِیرِ ۝١٠
Amatul Rahman Omar
And they will add, `If we had only listened and tried to understand we would not have been among the inmates of the blazing Fire (this day).
waqālū law kunnā nasmaʿu aw naʿqilu mā kunnā fī aṣḥābi l-saʿīr
67:11 ›
فَٱعۡتَرَفُوا۟ بِذَنۢبِهِمۡ فَسُحۡقࣰا لِّأَصۡحَـٰبِ ٱلسَّعِیرِ ۝١١
Amatul Rahman Omar
They will thus confess to their sins (when confession will be of no use). The inmates of the blazing Fire are far removed (from God's mercy)
fa-iʿ'tarafū bidhanbihim fasuḥ'qan li-aṣḥābi l-saʿīr
67:12 ›
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ یَخۡشَوۡنَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلۡغَیۡبِ لَهُم مَّغۡفِرَةࣱ وَأَجۡرࣱ كَبِیرࣱ ۝١٢
Amatul Rahman Omar
Verily, as to those who hold their Lord in awe in their heart of hearts, there awaits them protection (against lapses) and a great reward
inna alladhīna yakhshawna rabbahum bil-ghaybi lahum maghfiratun wa-ajrun kabīru
67:13 ›
وَأَسِرُّوا۟ قَوۡلَكُمۡ أَوِ ٱجۡهَرُوا۟ بِهِۦۤۖ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِیمُۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ ۝١٣
Amatul Rahman Omar
(Mankind!) Whether you conceal your thoughts or speak them openly (it makes little difference to Him) for He knows well the innermost secrets of the hearts
wa-asirrū qawlakum awi ij'harū bihi innahu ʿalīmun bidhāti l-ṣudūr
67:14 ›
أَلَا یَعۡلَمُ مَنۡ خَلَقَ وَهُوَ ٱللَّطِیفُ ٱلۡخَبِیرُ ۝١٤
Amatul Rahman Omar
Does He Who has created (all things) not know (His own creation)? He knows all that is abstruse and subtle, and is All-Aware
alā yaʿlamu man khalaqa wahuwa l-laṭīfu l-khabīr
2 The Disbelievers' Doom
67:15 ›
هُوَ ٱلَّذِی جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ ذَلُولࣰا فَٱمۡشُوا۟ فِی مَنَاكِبِهَا وَكُلُوا۟ مِن رِّزۡقِهِۦۖ وَإِلَیۡهِ ٱلنُّشُورُ ۝١٥
Amatul Rahman Omar
He it is Who has made the earth smooth and subservient to you (for your benefit), so traverse (far and deep) into its spacious paths (for your spiritual and material advancement), and (thus by active labour) eat of His sustenance (and enjoy His gifts). To Him will you all return after your having been raised to life
huwa alladhī jaʿala lakumu l-arḍa dhalūlan fa-im'shū fī manākibihā wakulū min riz'qihi wa-ilayhi l-nushūr
67:16 ›
ءَأَمِنتُم مَّن فِی ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ أَن یَخۡسِفَ بِكُمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ فَإِذَا هِیَ تَمُورُ ۝١٦
Amatul Rahman Omar
Do you feel secure from Him Who is overhead (to you all, thinking) that He may leave you downtrodden in the earth and may cause it to sink with you when all of a sudden it begins to shake
a-amintum man fī l-samāi an yakhsifa bikumu l-arḍa fa-idhā hiya tamūr
67:17 ›
أَمۡ أَمِنتُم مَّن فِی ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ أَن یُرۡسِلَ عَلَیۡكُمۡ حَاصِبࣰاۖ فَسَتَعۡلَمُونَ كَیۡفَ نَذِیرِ ۝١٧
Amatul Rahman Omar
Do you feel secure from Him Who reigns in the heaven (above you seeing), that He may send a violent storm raising dust and pebbles on you. Look! you shall soon realize how (true) was My warning
am amintum man fī l-samāi an yur'sila ʿalaykum ḥāṣiban fasataʿlamūna kayfa nadhīr
67:18 ›
وَلَقَدۡ كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِینَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ فَكَیۡفَ كَانَ نَكِیرِ ۝١٨
Amatul Rahman Omar
And certainly their predecessors treated (My Messengers to them) as liars, then, see how (destructive) was My disapproval (at their denial)
walaqad kadhaba alladhīna min qablihim fakayfa kāna nakīr
67:19 ›
أَوَ لَمۡ یَرَوۡا۟ إِلَى ٱلطَّیۡرِ فَوۡقَهُمۡ صَـٰۤفَّـٰتࣲ وَیَقۡبِضۡنَۚ مَا یُمۡسِكُهُنَّ إِلَّا ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُۚ إِنَّهُۥ بِكُلِّ شَیۡءِۭ بَصِیرٌ ۝١٩
Amatul Rahman Omar
Have they not seen above them the birds with spread out wings (in flight) which they also draw in (to swoop down on the prey). None but the Most Gracious (God) holds them (there). Verily, He has knowledge of each and everything
awalam yaraw ilā l-ṭayri fawqahum ṣāffātin wayaqbiḍ'na mā yum'sikuhunna illā l-raḥmānu innahu bikulli shayin baṣīru
67:20 ›
أَمَّنۡ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِی هُوَ جُندࣱ لَّكُمۡ یَنصُرُكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنِۚ إِنِ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرُونَ إِلَّا فِی غُرُورٍ ۝٢٠
Amatul Rahman Omar
Or who is it that can serve as an army to help you against the Most Gracious (God if He intends to do you harm). The disbelievers are only labouring under a misconception (in thinking to baffle the cause of God)
amman hādhā alladhī huwa jundun lakum yanṣurukum min dūni l-raḥmāni ini l-kāfirūna illā fī ghurūri
67:21 ›
أَمَّنۡ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِی یَرۡزُقُكُمۡ إِنۡ أَمۡسَكَ رِزۡقَهُۥۚ بَل لَّجُّوا۟ فِی عُتُوࣲّ وَنُفُورٍ ۝٢١
Amatul Rahman Omar
Or who is it that will provide sustenance for you if He withholds His gifts? The fact is that they persist in transgression and are running away (from the truth)
amman hādhā alladhī yarzuqukum in amsaka riz'qahu bal lajjū fī ʿutuwwin wanufūri
67:22 ›
أَفَمَن یَمۡشِی مُكِبًّا عَلَىٰ وَجۡهِهِۦۤ أَهۡدَىٰۤ أَمَّن یَمۡشِی سَوِیًّا عَلَىٰ صِرَ ٰطࣲ مُّسۡتَقِیمࣲ ۝٢٢
Amatul Rahman Omar
Is he, who goes groveling on his face, better guided or he who walks upright on a straight and right path
afaman yamshī mukibban ʿalā wajhihi ahdā amman yamshī sawiyyan ʿalā ṣirāṭin mus'taqīmi
67:23 ›
قُلۡ هُوَ ٱلَّذِیۤ أَنشَأَكُمۡ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَٱلۡأَبۡصَـٰرَ وَٱلۡأَفۡءِدَةَۚ قَلِیلࣰا مَّا تَشۡكُرُونَ ۝٢٣
Amatul Rahman Omar
Say, `It is He Who has brought you into being and made for you ears (to hear), eyes (to see) and hearts (to understand). Yet little thanks do you give!
qul huwa alladhī ansha-akum wajaʿala lakumu l-samʿa wal-abṣāra wal-afidata qalīlan mā tashkurūn
67:24 ›
قُلۡ هُوَ ٱلَّذِی ذَرَأَكُمۡ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَإِلَیۡهِ تُحۡشَرُونَ ۝٢٤
Amatul Rahman Omar
Say, `It is He Who has multiplied you in the earth and to Him you shall all be gathered.
qul huwa alladhī dhara-akum fī l-arḍi wa-ilayhi tuḥ'sharūn
67:25 ›
وَیَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَـٰذَا ٱلۡوَعۡدُ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَـٰدِقِینَ ۝٢٥
Amatul Rahman Omar
And they say (to the Muslims), `When will this threat be executed if you are truthful (in your assertions)?
wayaqūlūna matā hādhā l-waʿdu in kuntum ṣādiqīn
67:26 ›
قُلۡ إِنَّمَا ٱلۡعِلۡمُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَإِنَّمَاۤ أَنَا۠ نَذِیرࣱ مُّبِینࣱ ۝٢٦
Amatul Rahman Omar
Say, `The knowledge (of the time of its occurrence) is with Allah. I am only a plain Warner.
qul innamā l-ʿil'mu ʿinda l-lahi wa-innamā anā nadhīrun mubīnu
67:27 ›
فَلَمَّا رَأَوۡهُ زُلۡفَةࣰ سِیۤءَتۡ وُجُوهُ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَقِیلَ هَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِی كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَدَّعُونَ ۝٢٧
Amatul Rahman Omar
But when they see it (- the threatened punishment) nigh, the faces of those who disbelieve will wear a grieved look. And it will be said (to them), `This is what you used to ask for so persistently.
falammā ra-awhu zul'fatan sīat wujūhu alladhīna kafarū waqīla hādhā alladhī kuntum bihi taddaʿūn
67:28 ›
قُلۡ أَرَءَیۡتُمۡ إِنۡ أَهۡلَكَنِیَ ٱللَّهُ وَمَن مَّعِیَ أَوۡ رَحِمَنَا فَمَن یُجِیرُ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِینَ مِنۡ عَذَابٍ أَلِیمࣲ ۝٢٨
Amatul Rahman Omar
Say, `Have you considered if Allah destroys me and those who are with me (my companions of faith)? Rather He will have mercy on us. Who is there to protect the disbelievers from a woeful punishment, (for the guilty will, all the same, reap the fruit of their evil deeds)?
qul ara-aytum in ahlakaniya l-lahu waman maʿiya aw raḥimanā faman yujīru l-kāfirīna min ʿadhābin alīmi
67:29 ›
قُلۡ هُوَ ٱلرَّحۡمَـٰنُ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ وَعَلَیۡهِ تَوَكَّلۡنَاۖ فَسَتَعۡلَمُونَ مَنۡ هُوَ فِی ضَلَـٰلࣲ مُّبِینࣲ ۝٢٩
Amatul Rahman Omar
Say, `He is the Most Gracious (God), in Him have we believed and in Him have we put our trust. And you will soon know which one of us is in manifest error.
qul huwa l-raḥmānu āmannā bihi waʿalayhi tawakkalnā fasataʿlamūna man huwa fī ḍalālin mubīni
67:30 ›
قُلۡ أَرَءَیۡتُمۡ إِنۡ أَصۡبَحَ مَاۤؤُكُمۡ غَوۡرࣰا فَمَن یَأۡتِیكُم بِمَاۤءࣲ مَّعِینِۭ ۝٣٠
Amatul Rahman Omar
Say, `Have you considered if (all) your water were to disappear (in the depths of the earth) who, then, will bring you pure flowing water?
qul ara-aytum in aṣbaḥa māukum ghawran faman yatīkum bimāin maʿīni
