Belief in the Day of Judgment — Yawm al-Qiyamah
This is the belief that life on earth is temporary and that every person will be resurrected and held accountable for their deeds. On the Day of Judgment, all of creation will be assembled before Allah. Each person's record of deeds, kept by the recording angels, will be presented. Those whose good deeds outweigh their bad will be admitted to Jannah (Paradise), and those whose bad deeds outweigh their good may face punishment in Jahannam (Hellfire), though Allah's mercy is vast. The Day of Judgment includes: the blowing of the trumpet (by Israfil), the resurrection of all beings, the presentation of the record of deeds, the weighing of deeds on the Mizan (scales), crossing the Sirat (bridge), and the intercession (shafa'ah) of the Prophet Muhammad. Belief in the Last Day gives life meaning and moral urgency — every act matters.
"Every soul will taste death. And you will only be given your full compensation on the Day of Resurrection" — Quran 3:185
