وَكَمۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَا مِن قَرۡیَةِۭ بَطِرَتۡ مَعِیشَتَهَاۖ فَتِلۡكَ مَسَـٰكِنُهُمۡ لَمۡ تُسۡكَن مِّنۢ بَعۡدِهِمۡ إِلَّا قَلِیلࣰاۖ وَكُنَّا نَحۡنُ ٱلۡوَ ٰرِثِینَ ٥٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And how many a city have We destroyed that was insolent in its [way of] living, and those are their dwellings which have not been inhabited after them except briefly. And it is We who were the inheritors
Abdel Haleem:
We have destroyed many a community that once revelled in its wanton wealth and easy living: since then their dwelling places have barely been inhabited- We are the only heir
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
And how many a community have We destroyed that was thankless for its means of livelihood! And yonder are their dwellings, which have not been inhabited after them save a little. And We, even We, were the inheritors

وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِینَ خَرَجُوا۟ مِن دِیَـٰرِهِم بَطَرࣰا وَرِئَاۤءَ ٱلنَّاسِ وَیَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِیلِ ٱللَّهِۚ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا یَعۡمَلُونَ مُحِیطࣱ ٤٧
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And do not be like those who came forth from their homes insolently and to be seen by people and avert [them] from the way of Allah . And Allah is encompassing of what they do
Abdel Haleem:
Do not be like those who came out of their homes full of conceit, showing off to people, and barring others from the way of God- God has full knowledge of all that they do
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Be not as those who came forth from their dwellings boastfully and to be seen of men, and debar (men) from the way of Allah, while Allah is surrounding all they do
