فَوَسۡوَسَ إِلَیۡهِ ٱلشَّیۡطَـٰنُ قَالَ یَـٰۤءَادَمُ هَلۡ أَدُلُّكَ عَلَىٰ شَجَرَةِ ٱلۡخُلۡدِ وَمُلۡكࣲ لَّا یَبۡلَىٰ ١٢٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Then Satan whispered to him; he said, "O Adam, shall I direct you to the tree of eternity and possession that will not deteriorate?"
Abdel Haleem:
But Satan whispered to Adam, saying, ‘Adam, shall I show you the tree of immortality and power that never decays?’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
But the devil whispered to him, saying: O Adam! Shall I show thee the tree of immortality and power that wasteth not away
The Letter Qaf 50:16
Verb
وَلَقَدۡ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡإِنسَـٰنَ وَنَعۡلَمُ مَا تُوَسۡوِسُ بِهِۦ نَفۡسُهُۥۖ وَنَحۡنُ أَقۡرَبُ إِلَیۡهِ مِنۡ حَبۡلِ ٱلۡوَرِیدِ ١٦
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And We have already created man and know what his soul whispers to him, and We are closer to him than [his] jugular vei
Abdel Haleem:
We created man––We know what his soul whispers to him: We are closer to him than his jugular vein––
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
We verily created man and We know what his soul whispereth to him, and We are nearer to him than his jugular vein
فَوَسۡوَسَ لَهُمَا ٱلشَّیۡطَـٰنُ لِیُبۡدِیَ لَهُمَا مَا وُۥرِیَ عَنۡهُمَا مِن سَوۡءَ ٰتِهِمَا وَقَالَ مَا نَهَىٰكُمَا رَبُّكُمَا عَنۡ هَـٰذِهِ ٱلشَّجَرَةِ إِلَّاۤ أَن تَكُونَا مَلَكَیۡنِ أَوۡ تَكُونَا مِنَ ٱلۡخَـٰلِدِینَ ٢٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
But Satan whispered to them to make apparent to them that which was concealed from them of their private parts. He said, "Your Lord did not forbid you this tree except that you become angels or become of the immortal."
Abdel Haleem:
Satan whispered to them so as to expose their nakedness, which had been hidden from them: he said, ‘Your Lord only forbade you this tree to prevent you becoming angels or immortals,’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Then Satan whispered to them that he might manifest unto them that which was hidden from them of their shame, and he said: Your Lord forbade you from this tree only lest ye should become angels or become of the immortals
