92 فَٱلۡیَوۡمَ نُنَجِّیكَ بِبَدَنِكَ لِتَكُونَ لِمَنۡ خَلۡفَكَ ءَایَةࣰۚ وَإِنَّ كَثِیرࣰا مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ عَنۡ ءَایَـٰتِنَا لَغَـٰفِلُونَ ۝٩٢ fal-yawma nunajjīka bibadanika litakūna liman khalfaka āyatan wa-inna kathīran mina l-nāsi ʿan āyātinā laghāfilūn Today We shall save only your corpse as a sign to all posterity. A great many people fail to heed Our signs.’ 93 وَلَقَدۡ بَوَّأۡنَا بَنِیۤ إِسۡرَ ٰۤءِیلَ مُبَوَّأَ صِدۡقࣲ وَرَزَقۡنَـٰهُم مِّنَ ٱلطَّیِّبَـٰتِ فَمَا ٱخۡتَلَفُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ جَاۤءَهُمُ ٱلۡعِلۡمُۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ یَقۡضِی بَیۡنَهُمۡ یَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِ فِیمَا كَانُوا۟ فِیهِ یَخۡتَلِفُونَ ۝٩٣ walaqad bawwanā banī is'rāīla mubawwa-a ṣid'qin warazaqnāhum mina l-ṭayibāti famā ikh'talafū ḥattā jāahumu l-ʿil'mu inna rabbaka yaqḍī baynahum yawma l-qiyāmati fīmā kānū fīhi yakhtalifūn We settled the Children of Israel in a good place and provided good things as sustenance for them. It was only after knowledge had come to them that they began to differ among themselves. Your Lord will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection regarding their differences 94 فَإِن كُنتَ فِی شَكࣲّ مِّمَّاۤ أَنزَلۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡكَ فَسۡءَلِ ٱلَّذِینَ یَقۡرَءُونَ ٱلۡكِتَـٰبَ مِن قَبۡلِكَۚ لَقَدۡ جَاۤءَكَ ٱلۡحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ فَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلۡمُمۡتَرِینَ ۝٩٤ fa-in kunta fī shakkin mimmā anzalnā ilayka fasali alladhīna yaqraūna l-kitāba min qablika laqad jāaka l-ḥaqu min rabbika falā takūnanna mina l-mum'tarīn So if you [Prophet] are in doubt about what We have revealed to you, ask those who have been reading the scriptures before you. The Truth has come to you from your Lord, so be in no doubt and do not deny God’s signs 95 وَلَا تَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلَّذِینَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِءَایَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡخَـٰسِرِینَ ۝٩٥ walā takūnanna mina alladhīna kadhabū biāyāti l-lahi fatakūna mina l-khāsirīn then you would become one of the losers
96 إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ حَقَّتۡ عَلَیۡهِمۡ كَلِمَتُ رَبِّكَ لَا یُؤۡمِنُونَ ۝٩٦ inna alladhīna ḥaqqat ʿalayhim kalimatu rabbika lā yu'minūn Those against whom your Lord’s sentence is passed will not believe
97 وَلَوۡ جَاۤءَتۡهُمۡ كُلُّ ءَایَةٍ حَتَّىٰ یَرَوُا۟ ٱلۡعَذَابَ ٱلۡأَلِیمَ ۝٩٧ walaw jāathum kullu āyatin ḥattā yarawū l-ʿadhāba l-alīm even if every sign comes to them, until they see the agonizing torment 98 فَلَوۡلَا كَانَتۡ قَرۡیَةٌ ءَامَنَتۡ فَنَفَعَهَاۤ إِیمَـٰنُهَاۤ إِلَّا قَوۡمَ یُونُسَ لَمَّاۤ ءَامَنُوا۟ كَشَفۡنَا عَنۡهُمۡ عَذَابَ ٱلۡخِزۡیِ فِی ٱلۡحَیَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡیَا وَمَتَّعۡنَـٰهُمۡ إِلَىٰ حِینࣲ ۝٩٨ falawlā kānat qaryatun āmanat fanafaʿahā īmānuhā illā qawma yūnusa lammā āmanū kashafnā ʿanhum ʿadhāba l-khiz'yi fī l-ḥayati l-dun'yā wamattaʿnāhum ilā ḥīni If only a single town had believed and benefited from its belief! Only Jonah’s people did so, and when they believed, We relieved them of the punishment of disgrace in the life of this world, and let them enjoy life for a time 99 وَلَوۡ شَاۤءَ رَبُّكَ لَءَامَنَ مَن فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ كُلُّهُمۡ جَمِیعًاۚ أَفَأَنتَ تُكۡرِهُ ٱلنَّاسَ حَتَّىٰ یَكُونُوا۟ مُؤۡمِنِینَ ۝٩٩ walaw shāa rabbuka laāmana man fī l-arḍi kulluhum jamīʿan afa-anta tuk'rihu l-nāsa ḥattā yakūnū mu'minīn Had your Lord willed, all the people on earth would have believed. So can you [Prophet] compel people to believe 100 وَمَا كَانَ لِنَفۡسٍ أَن تُؤۡمِنَ إِلَّا بِإِذۡنِ ٱللَّهِۚ وَیَجۡعَلُ ٱلرِّجۡسَ عَلَى ٱلَّذِینَ لَا یَعۡقِلُونَ ۝١٠٠ wamā kāna linafsin an tu'mina illā bi-idh'ni l-lahi wayajʿalu l-rij'sa ʿalā alladhīna lā yaʿqilūn No soul can believe except by God’s will, and He brings disgrace on those who do not use their reason
