12 فَلَعَلَّكَ تَارِكُۢ بَعۡضَ مَا یُوحَىٰۤ إِلَیۡكَ وَضَاۤىِٕقُۢ بِهِۦ صَدۡرُكَ أَن یَقُولُوا۟ لَوۡلَاۤ أُنزِلَ عَلَیۡهِ كَنزٌ أَوۡ جَاۤءَ مَعَهُۥ مَلَكٌۚ إِنَّمَاۤ أَنتَ نَذِیرࣱۚ وَٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ وَكِیلٌ ۝١٢ falaʿallaka tārikun baʿḍa mā yūḥā ilayka waḍāiqun bihi ṣadruka an yaqūlū lawlā unzila ʿalayhi kanzun aw jāa maʿahu malakun innamā anta nadhīrun wal-lahu ʿalā kulli shayin wakīlu So [Prophet] are you going to abandon some part of what is revealed to you, and let your heart be oppressed by it, because they say, ‘Why is no treasure sent down to him? Why has no angel come with him?’? You are only there to warn; it is God who is in charge of everything 13 أَمۡ یَقُولُونَ ٱفۡتَرَىٰهُۖ قُلۡ فَأۡتُوا۟ بِعَشۡرِ سُوَرࣲ مِّثۡلِهِۦ مُفۡتَرَیَـٰتࣲ وَٱدۡعُوا۟ مَنِ ٱسۡتَطَعۡتُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَـٰدِقِینَ ۝١٣ am yaqūlūna if'tarāhu qul fatū biʿashri suwarin mith'lihi muf'tarayātin wa-id'ʿū mani is'taṭaʿtum min dūni l-lahi in kuntum ṣādiqīn If they say, ‘He has invented it himself,’ say, ‘Then produce ten invented suras like it, and call in whoever you can beside God, if you are truthful.’ 14 فَإِلَّمۡ یَسۡتَجِیبُوا۟ لَكُمۡ فَٱعۡلَمُوۤا۟ أَنَّمَاۤ أُنزِلَ بِعِلۡمِ ٱللَّهِ وَأَن لَّاۤ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَۖ فَهَلۡ أَنتُم مُّسۡلِمُونَ ۝١٤ fa-illam yastajībū lakum fa-iʿ'lamū annamā unzila biʿil'mi l-lahi wa-an lā ilāha illā huwa fahal antum mus'limūn If they do not answer you, then you will all know that it is sent down containing knowledge from God, and that there is no god but Him. Then will you submit to Him 15 مَن كَانَ یُرِیدُ ٱلۡحَیَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡیَا وَزِینَتَهَا نُوَفِّ إِلَیۡهِمۡ أَعۡمَـٰلَهُمۡ فِیهَا وَهُمۡ فِیهَا لَا یُبۡخَسُونَ ۝١٥ man kāna yurīdu l-ḥayata l-dun'yā wazīnatahā nuwaffi ilayhim aʿmālahum fīhā wahum fīhā lā yub'khasūn If any desire [only] the life of this world with all its finery, We shall repay them in full in this life for their deeds- they will be given no less

16 أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ ٱلَّذِینَ لَیۡسَ لَهُمۡ فِی ٱلۡءَاخِرَةِ إِلَّا ٱلنَّارُۖ وَحَبِطَ مَا صَنَعُوا۟ فِیهَا وَبَـٰطِلࣱ مَّا كَانُوا۟ یَعۡمَلُونَ ۝١٦ ulāika alladhīna laysa lahum fī l-ākhirati illā l-nāru waḥabiṭa mā ṣanaʿū fīhā wabāṭilun mā kānū yaʿmalūn but such people will have nothing in the Hereafter but the Fire: their work here will be fruitless and their deeds futile

17 أَفَمَن كَانَ عَلَىٰ بَیِّنَةࣲ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ وَیَتۡلُوهُ شَاهِدࣱ مِّنۡهُ وَمِن قَبۡلِهِۦ كِتَـٰبُ مُوسَىٰۤ إِمَامࣰا وَرَحۡمَةًۚ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ یُؤۡمِنُونَ بِهِۦۚ وَمَن یَكۡفُرۡ بِهِۦ مِنَ ٱلۡأَحۡزَابِ فَٱلنَّارُ مَوۡعِدُهُۥۚ فَلَا تَكُ فِی مِرۡیَةࣲ مِّنۡهُۚ إِنَّهُ ٱلۡحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّكَ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا یُؤۡمِنُونَ ۝١٧ afaman kāna ʿalā bayyinatin min rabbihi wayatlūhu shāhidun min'hu wamin qablihi kitābu mūsā imāman waraḥmatan ulāika yu'minūna bihi waman yakfur bihi mina l-aḥzābi fal-nāru mawʿiduhu falā taku fī mir'yatin min'hu innahu l-ḥaqu min rabbika walākinna akthara l-nāsi lā yu'minūn Can they be compared to those who have clear proof from their Lord, recited by a witness from Him, and before it the Book of Moses, as a guide and mercy? These people believe in it, whereas those groups that deny its truth are promised the Fire. So have no doubt about it [Prophet]: it is the Truth from your Lord, though most people do not believe so 18 وَمَنۡ أَظۡلَمُ مِمَّنِ ٱفۡتَرَىٰ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ كَذِبًاۚ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ یُعۡرَضُونَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمۡ وَیَقُولُ ٱلۡأَشۡهَـٰدُ هَـٰۤؤُلَاۤءِ ٱلَّذِینَ كَذَبُوا۟ عَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمۡۚ أَلَا لَعۡنَةُ ٱللَّهِ عَلَى ٱلظَّـٰلِمِینَ ۝١٨ waman aẓlamu mimmani if'tarā ʿalā l-lahi kadhiban ulāika yuʿ'raḍūna ʿalā rabbihim wayaqūlu l-ashhādu hāulāi alladhīna kadhabū ʿalā rabbihim alā laʿnatu l-lahi ʿalā l-ẓālimīn Who could do more wrong than someone who invents lies about God? Such people will be brought before their Lord, and the witnesses will say, ‘These are the ones that lied about their Lord.’ God’s rejection is the due of those who do such wrong 19 ٱلَّذِینَ یَصُدُّونَ عَن سَبِیلِ ٱللَّهِ وَیَبۡغُونَهَا عِوَجࣰا وَهُم بِٱلۡءَاخِرَةِ هُمۡ كَـٰفِرُونَ ۝١٩ alladhīna yaṣuddūna ʿan sabīli l-lahi wayabghūnahā ʿiwajan wahum bil-ākhirati hum kāfirūn who hinder others from God’s path, trying to make it crooked, and deny the life to come 20 أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ لَمۡ یَكُونُوا۟ مُعۡجِزِینَ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا كَانَ لَهُم مِّن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مِنۡ أَوۡلِیَاۤءَۘ یُضَـٰعَفُ لَهُمُ ٱلۡعَذَابُۚ مَا كَانُوا۟ یَسۡتَطِیعُونَ ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ یُبۡصِرُونَ ۝٢٠ ulāika lam yakūnū muʿ'jizīna fī l-arḍi wamā kāna lahum min dūni l-lahi min awliyāa yuḍāʿafu lahumu l-ʿadhābu mā kānū yastaṭīʿūna l-samʿa wamā kānū yub'ṣirūn They will not escape on earth, and there will be no one other than God to protect them. Their punishment will be doubled. They could not hear, and they did not see
