120 إِنَّ إِبۡرَ ٰهِیمَ كَانَ أُمَّةࣰ قَانِتࣰا لِّلَّهِ حَنِیفࣰا وَلَمۡ یَكُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِینَ ۝١٢٠ inna ib'rāhīma kāna ummatan qānitan lillahi ḥanīfan walam yaku mina l-mush'rikīn Abraham was truly an example: devoutly obedient to God and true in faith. He was not an idolater 121 شَاكِرࣰا لِّأَنۡعُمِهِۚ ٱجۡتَبَىٰهُ وَهَدَىٰهُ إِلَىٰ صِرَ ٰطࣲ مُّسۡتَقِیمࣲ ۝١٢١ shākiran li-anʿumihi ij'tabāhu wahadāhu ilā ṣirāṭin mus'taqīmi he was thankful for the blessings of God who chose him and guided him to a straight path 122 وَءَاتَیۡنَـٰهُ فِی ٱلدُّنۡیَا حَسَنَةࣰۖ وَإِنَّهُۥ فِی ٱلۡءَاخِرَةِ لَمِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِینَ ۝١٢٢ waātaynāhu fī l-dun'yā ḥasanatan wa-innahu fī l-ākhirati lamina l-ṣāliḥīn We gave him blessings in this world, and he is among the right-eous in the Hereafter 123 ثُمَّ أَوۡحَیۡنَاۤ إِلَیۡكَ أَنِ ٱتَّبِعۡ مِلَّةَ إِبۡرَ ٰهِیمَ حَنِیفࣰاۖ وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِینَ ۝١٢٣ thumma awḥaynā ilayka ani ittabiʿ millata ib'rāhīma ḥanīfan wamā kāna mina l-mush'rikīn Then We revealed to you [Muhammad], ‘Follow the creed of Abraham, a man of pure faith who was not an idolater.’
124 إِنَّمَا جُعِلَ ٱلسَّبۡتُ عَلَى ٱلَّذِینَ ٱخۡتَلَفُوا۟ فِیهِۚ وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَیَحۡكُمُ بَیۡنَهُمۡ یَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِ فِیمَا كَانُوا۟ فِیهِ یَخۡتَلِفُونَ ۝١٢٤ innamā juʿila l-sabtu ʿalā alladhīna ikh'talafū fīhi wa-inna rabbaka layaḥkumu baynahum yawma l-qiyāmati fīmā kānū fīhi yakhtalifūn The Sabbath was made obligatory only for those who differed about it. On the Day of Resurrection your Lord will judge between them as to their differences
125 ٱدۡعُ إِلَىٰ سَبِیلِ رَبِّكَ بِٱلۡحِكۡمَةِ وَٱلۡمَوۡعِظَةِ ٱلۡحَسَنَةِۖ وَجَـٰدِلۡهُم بِٱلَّتِی هِیَ أَحۡسَنُۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِیلِهِۦ وَهُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِٱلۡمُهۡتَدِینَ ۝١٢٥ ud'ʿu ilā sabīli rabbika bil-ḥik'mati wal-mawʿiẓati l-ḥasanati wajādil'hum bi-allatī hiya aḥsanu inna rabbaka huwa aʿlamu biman ḍalla ʿan sabīlihi wahuwa aʿlamu bil-muh'tadīn [Prophet], call [people] to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good teaching. Argue with them in the most courteous way, for your Lord knows best who has strayed from His way and who is rightly guided 126 وَإِنۡ عَاقَبۡتُمۡ فَعَاقِبُوا۟ بِمِثۡلِ مَا عُوقِبۡتُم بِهِۦۖ وَلَىِٕن صَبَرۡتُمۡ لَهُوَ خَیۡرࣱ لِّلصَّـٰبِرِینَ ۝١٢٦ wa-in ʿāqabtum faʿāqibū bimith'li mā ʿūqib'tum bihi wala-in ṣabartum lahuwa khayrun lilṣṣābirīn If you [believers] have to respond to an attack, make your response proportionate, but it is best to stand fast 127 وَٱصۡبِرۡ وَمَا صَبۡرُكَ إِلَّا بِٱللَّهِۚ وَلَا تَحۡزَنۡ عَلَیۡهِمۡ وَلَا تَكُ فِی ضَیۡقࣲ مِّمَّا یَمۡكُرُونَ ۝١٢٧ wa-iṣ'bir wamā ṣabruka illā bil-lahi walā taḥzan ʿalayhim walā taku fī ḍayqin mimmā yamkurūn So [Prophet] be steadfast: your steadfastness comes only from God. Do not grieve over them; do not be distressed by their scheming 128 إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِینَ ٱتَّقَوا۟ وَّٱلَّذِینَ هُم مُّحۡسِنُونَ ۝١٢٨ inna l-laha maʿa alladhīna ittaqaw wa-alladhīna hum muḥ'sinūn for God is with those who are mindful of Him and who do good
