33 وَلَا تَقۡتُلُوا۟ ٱلنَّفۡسَ ٱلَّتِی حَرَّمَ ٱللَّهُ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّۗ وَمَن قُتِلَ مَظۡلُومࣰا فَقَدۡ جَعَلۡنَا لِوَلِیِّهِۦ سُلۡطَـٰنࣰا فَلَا یُسۡرِف فِّی ٱلۡقَتۡلِۖ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مَنصُورࣰا ۝٣٣ walā taqtulū l-nafsa allatī ḥarrama l-lahu illā bil-ḥaqi waman qutila maẓlūman faqad jaʿalnā liwaliyyihi sul'ṭānan falā yus'rif fī l-qatli innahu kāna manṣūra Do not take life, which God has made sacred, except by right: if anyone is killed wrongfully, We have given authority to the defender of his rights, but he should not be excessive in taking life, for he is already aided [by God] 34 وَلَا تَقۡرَبُوا۟ مَالَ ٱلۡیَتِیمِ إِلَّا بِٱلَّتِی هِیَ أَحۡسَنُ حَتَّىٰ یَبۡلُغَ أَشُدَّهُۥۚ وَأَوۡفُوا۟ بِٱلۡعَهۡدِۖ إِنَّ ٱلۡعَهۡدَ كَانَ مَسۡءُولࣰا ۝٣٤ walā taqrabū māla l-yatīmi illā bi-allatī hiya aḥsanu ḥattā yablugha ashuddahu wa-awfū bil-ʿahdi inna l-ʿahda kāna masūla Do not go near the orphan’s property, except with the best [intentions], until he reaches the age of maturity. Honour your pledges: you will be questioned about your pledges 35 وَأَوۡفُوا۟ ٱلۡكَیۡلَ إِذَا كِلۡتُمۡ وَزِنُوا۟ بِٱلۡقِسۡطَاسِ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِیمِۚ ذَ ٰلِكَ خَیۡرࣱ وَأَحۡسَنُ تَأۡوِیلࣰا ۝٣٥ wa-awfū l-kayla idhā kil'tum wazinū bil-qis'ṭāsi l-mus'taqīmi dhālika khayrun wa-aḥsanu tawīla Give full measure when you measure, and weigh with accurate scales: that is better and fairer in the end 36 وَلَا تَقۡفُ مَا لَیۡسَ لَكَ بِهِۦ عِلۡمٌۚ إِنَّ ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَٱلۡبَصَرَ وَٱلۡفُؤَادَ كُلُّ أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ كَانَ عَنۡهُ مَسۡءُولࣰا ۝٣٦ walā taqfu mā laysa laka bihi ʿil'mun inna l-samʿa wal-baṣara wal-fuāda kullu ulāika kāna ʿanhu masūla Do not follow blindly what you do not know to be true: ears, eyes, and heart, you will be questioned about all these
37 وَلَا تَمۡشِ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مَرَحًاۖ إِنَّكَ لَن تَخۡرِقَ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَلَن تَبۡلُغَ ٱلۡجِبَالَ طُولࣰا ۝٣٧ walā tamshi fī l-arḍi maraḥan innaka lan takhriqa l-arḍa walan tablugha l-jibāla ṭūla Do not strut arrogantly about the earth: you cannot break it open, nor match the mountains in height
38 كُلُّ ذَ ٰلِكَ كَانَ سَیِّئُهُۥ عِندَ رَبِّكَ مَكۡرُوهࣰا ۝٣٨ kullu dhālika kāna sayyi-uhu ʿinda rabbika makrūha The evil of all these actions is hateful to your Lord 39 ذَ ٰلِكَ مِمَّاۤ أَوۡحَىٰۤ إِلَیۡكَ رَبُّكَ مِنَ ٱلۡحِكۡمَةِۗ وَلَا تَجۡعَلۡ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَتُلۡقَىٰ فِی جَهَنَّمَ مَلُومࣰا مَّدۡحُورًا ۝٣٩ dhālika mimmā awḥā ilayka rabbuka mina l-ḥik'mati walā tajʿal maʿa l-lahi ilāhan ākhara fatul'qā fī jahannama malūman madḥūra [Prophet], this is some of the wisdom your Lord has revealed to you: do not set up another god beside God, or you will be thrown into Hell, blamed and rejected 40 أَفَأَصۡفَىٰكُمۡ رَبُّكُم بِٱلۡبَنِینَ وَٱتَّخَذَ مِنَ ٱلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةِ إِنَـٰثًاۚ إِنَّكُمۡ لَتَقُولُونَ قَوۡلًا عَظِیمࣰا ۝٤٠ afa-aṣfākum rabbukum bil-banīna wa-ittakhadha mina l-malāikati ināthan innakum lataqūlūna qawlan ʿaẓīma What? Has your Lord favoured you people with sons and taken daughters for Himself from the angels?What a monstrous thing for you to say 41 وَلَقَدۡ صَرَّفۡنَا فِی هَـٰذَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ لِیَذَّكَّرُوا۟ وَمَا یَزِیدُهُمۡ إِلَّا نُفُورࣰا ۝٤١ walaqad ṣarrafnā fī hādhā l-qur'āni liyadhakkarū wamā yazīduhum illā nufūra We have explained things in various ways in this Quran, so that such people might take notice, but it has only turned them further away
