198 لَیۡسَ عَلَیۡكُمۡ جُنَاحٌ أَن تَبۡتَغُوا۟ فَضۡلࣰا مِّن رَّبِّكُمۡۚ فَإِذَاۤ أَفَضۡتُم مِّنۡ عَرَفَـٰتࣲ فَٱذۡكُرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ عِندَ ٱلۡمَشۡعَرِ ٱلۡحَرَامِۖ وَٱذۡكُرُوهُ كَمَا هَدَىٰكُمۡ وَإِن كُنتُم مِّن قَبۡلِهِۦ لَمِنَ ٱلضَّاۤلِّینَ ۝١٩٨ laysa ʿalaykum junāḥun an tabtaghū faḍlan min rabbikum fa-idhā afaḍtum min ʿarafātin fa-udh'kurū l-laha ʿinda l-mashʿari l-ḥarāmi wa-udh'kurūhu kamā hadākum wa-in kuntum min qablihi lamina l-ḍālīn but it is no offence to seek some bounty from your Lord. When you surge down from Arafat remember God at the sacred place. Remember Him: He has guided you. Before that you were astray 199 ثُمَّ أَفِیضُوا۟ مِنۡ حَیۡثُ أَفَاضَ ٱلنَّاسُ وَٱسۡتَغۡفِرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَفُورࣱ رَّحِیمࣱ ۝١٩٩ thumma afīḍū min ḥaythu afāḍa l-nāsu wa-is'taghfirū l-laha inna l-laha ghafūrun raḥīmu Surge down where the rest of the people do, and ask forgiveness of God: He is most forgiving and merciful 200 فَإِذَا قَضَیۡتُم مَّنَـٰسِكَكُمۡ فَٱذۡكُرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ كَذِكۡرِكُمۡ ءَابَاۤءَكُمۡ أَوۡ أَشَدَّ ذِكۡرࣰاۗ فَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن یَقُولُ رَبَّنَاۤ ءَاتِنَا فِی ٱلدُّنۡیَا وَمَا لَهُۥ فِی ٱلۡءَاخِرَةِ مِنۡ خَلَـٰقࣲ ۝٢٠٠ fa-idhā qaḍaytum manāsikakum fa-udh'kurū l-laha kadhik'rikum ābāakum aw ashadda dhik'ran famina l-nāsi man yaqūlu rabbanā ātinā fī l-dun'yā wamā lahu fī l-ākhirati min khalāqi When you have completed your rites, remember God as much as you remember your own fathers, or even more. There are some who pray, ‘Our Lord, give us good in this world,’ and they will have no share in the Hereafter 201 وَمِنۡهُم مَّن یَقُولُ رَبَّنَاۤ ءَاتِنَا فِی ٱلدُّنۡیَا حَسَنَةࣰ وَفِی ٱلۡءَاخِرَةِ حَسَنَةࣰ وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ ۝٢٠١ wamin'hum man yaqūlu rabbanā ātinā fī l-dun'yā ḥasanatan wafī l-ākhirati ḥasanatan waqinā ʿadhāba l-nār others pray, ‘Our Lord, give us good in this world and in the Hereafter, and protect us from the torment of the Fire.’

202 أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ لَهُمۡ نَصِیبࣱ مِّمَّا كَسَبُوا۟ۚ وَٱللَّهُ سَرِیعُ ٱلۡحِسَابِ ۝٢٠٢ ulāika lahum naṣībun mimmā kasabū wal-lahu sarīʿu l-ḥisāb They will have the share they have worked for: God is swift in reckoning

203 ۞ وَٱذۡكُرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ فِیۤ أَیَّامࣲ مَّعۡدُودَ ٰتࣲۚ فَمَن تَعَجَّلَ فِی یَوۡمَیۡنِ فَلَاۤ إِثۡمَ عَلَیۡهِ وَمَن تَأَخَّرَ فَلَاۤ إِثۡمَ عَلَیۡهِۖ لِمَنِ ٱتَّقَىٰۗ وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَٱعۡلَمُوۤا۟ أَنَّكُمۡ إِلَیۡهِ تُحۡشَرُونَ ۝٢٠٣ wa-udh'kurū l-laha fī ayyāmin maʿdūdātin faman taʿajjala fī yawmayni falā ith'ma ʿalayhi waman ta-akhara falā ith'ma ʿalayhi limani ittaqā wa-ittaqū l-laha wa-iʿ'lamū annakum ilayhi tuḥ'sharūn Remember God on the appointed days. If anyone is in a hurry to leave after two days, there is no blame on him, nor is there any blame on anyone who stays on, so long as they are mindful of God. Be mindful of God, and remember that you will be gathered to Him 204 وَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن یُعۡجِبُكَ قَوۡلُهُۥ فِی ٱلۡحَیَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡیَا وَیُشۡهِدُ ٱللَّهَ عَلَىٰ مَا فِی قَلۡبِهِۦ وَهُوَ أَلَدُّ ٱلۡخِصَامِ ۝٢٠٤ wamina l-nāsi man yuʿ'jibuka qawluhu fī l-ḥayati l-dun'yā wayush'hidu l-laha ʿalā mā fī qalbihi wahuwa aladdu l-khiṣām There is [a kind of] man whose views on the life of this world may please you [Prophet], he even calls on God to witness what is in his heart, yet he is the bitterest of opponents 205 وَإِذَا تَوَلَّىٰ سَعَىٰ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ لِیُفۡسِدَ فِیهَا وَیُهۡلِكَ ٱلۡحَرۡثَ وَٱلنَّسۡلَۗ وَٱللَّهُ لَا یُحِبُّ ٱلۡفَسَادَ ۝٢٠٥ wa-idhā tawallā saʿā fī l-arḍi liyuf'sida fīhā wayuh'lika l-ḥartha wal-nasla wal-lahu lā yuḥibbu l-fasād When he leaves, he sets out to spread corruption in the land, destroying crops and live-stock- God does not like corruption 206 وَإِذَا قِیلَ لَهُ ٱتَّقِ ٱللَّهَ أَخَذَتۡهُ ٱلۡعِزَّةُ بِٱلۡإِثۡمِۚ فَحَسۡبُهُۥ جَهَنَّمُۖ وَلَبِئۡسَ ٱلۡمِهَادُ ۝٢٠٦ wa-idhā qīla lahu ittaqi l-laha akhadhathu l-ʿizatu bil-ith'mi faḥasbuhu jahannamu walabi'sa l-mihād When he is told, ‘Beware of God,’ his arrogance leads him to sin. Hell is enough for him: a dreadful resting place
