Such a person is like a rock with earth on it: heavy rain falls and leaves it completely bare. Such people get no rewards for their works: God does not guide the disbelievers

God sees all that you do 266 أَیَوَدُّ أَحَدُكُمۡ أَن تَكُونَ لَهُۥ جَنَّةࣱ مِّن نَّخِیلࣲ وَأَعۡنَابࣲ تَجۡرِی مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَـٰرُ لَهُۥ فِیهَا مِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَ ٰتِ وَأَصَابَهُ ٱلۡكِبَرُ وَلَهُۥ ذُرِّیَّةࣱ ضُعَفَاۤءُ فَأَصَابَهَاۤ إِعۡصَارࣱ فِیهِ نَارࣱ فَٱحۡتَرَقَتۡۗ كَذَ ٰلِكَ یُبَیِّنُ ٱللَّهُ لَكُمُ ٱلۡءَایَـٰتِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَتَفَكَّرُونَ ۝٢٦٦ ayawaddu aḥadukum an takūna lahu jannatun min nakhīlin wa-aʿnābin tajrī min taḥtihā l-anhāru lahu fīhā min kulli l-thamarāti wa-aṣābahu l-kibaru walahu dhurriyyatun ḍuʿafāu fa-aṣābahā iʿ'ṣārun fīhi nārun fa-iḥ'taraqat kadhālika yubayyinu l-lahu lakumu l-āyāti laʿallakum tatafakkarūn Would any of you like to have a garden of palm trees and vines, graced with flowing streams and all kinds of produce, which, when you are afflicted with old age and feeble offspring, is struck by a fiery whirlwind and burnt down? In this way God makes His messages clear to you, so that you may reflect on them 267 یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوۤا۟ أَنفِقُوا۟ مِن طَیِّبَـٰتِ مَا كَسَبۡتُمۡ وَمِمَّاۤ أَخۡرَجۡنَا لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ وَلَا تَیَمَّمُوا۟ ٱلۡخَبِیثَ مِنۡهُ تُنفِقُونَ وَلَسۡتُم بِءَاخِذِیهِ إِلَّاۤ أَن تُغۡمِضُوا۟ فِیهِۚ وَٱعۡلَمُوۤا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ غَنِیٌّ حَمِیدٌ ۝٢٦٧ yāayyuhā alladhīna āmanū anfiqū min ṭayyibāti mā kasabtum wamimmā akhrajnā lakum mina l-arḍi walā tayammamū l-khabītha min'hu tunfiqūna walastum biākhidhīhi illā an tugh'miḍū fīhi wa-iʿ'lamū anna l-laha ghaniyyun ḥamīdu You who believe, give charitably from the good things you have acquired and that We have produced for you from the earth.
