273 لِلۡفُقَرَاۤءِ ٱلَّذِینَ أُحۡصِرُوا۟ فِی سَبِیلِ ٱللَّهِ لَا یَسۡتَطِیعُونَ ضَرۡبࣰا فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ یَحۡسَبُهُمُ ٱلۡجَاهِلُ أَغۡنِیَاۤءَ مِنَ ٱلتَّعَفُّفِ تَعۡرِفُهُم بِسِیمَـٰهُمۡ لَا یَسۡءَلُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ إِلۡحَافࣰاۗ وَمَا تُنفِقُوا۟ مِنۡ خَیۡرࣲ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِهِۦ عَلِیمٌ ۝٢٧٣ lil'fuqarāi alladhīna uḥ'ṣirū fī sabīli l-lahi lā yastaṭīʿūna ḍarban fī l-arḍi yaḥsabuhumu l-jāhilu aghniyāa mina l-taʿafufi taʿrifuhum bisīmāhum lā yasalūna l-nāsa il'ḥāfan wamā tunfiqū min khayrin fa-inna l-laha bihi ʿalīmu [Give] to those needy who are wholly occupied in God’s way and cannot travel in the land [for trade]. The unknowing might think them rich because of their self-restraint, but you will recognize them by their characteristic of not begging persistently. God is well aware of any good you give 274 ٱلَّذِینَ یُنفِقُونَ أَمۡوَ ٰلَهُم بِٱلَّیۡلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ سِرࣰّا وَعَلَانِیَةࣰ فَلَهُمۡ أَجۡرُهُمۡ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡ وَلَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَیۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ یَحۡزَنُونَ ۝٢٧٤ alladhīna yunfiqūna amwālahum bi-al-layli wal-nahāri sirran waʿalāniyatan falahum ajruhum ʿinda rabbihim walā khawfun ʿalayhim walā hum yaḥzanūn Those who give, out of their own possessions, by night and by day, in private and in public, will have their reward with their Lord: no fear for them, nor will they grieve 275 ٱلَّذِینَ یَأۡكُلُونَ ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟ لَا یَقُومُونَ إِلَّا كَمَا یَقُومُ ٱلَّذِی یَتَخَبَّطُهُ ٱلشَّیۡطَـٰنُ مِنَ ٱلۡمَسِّۚ ذَ ٰلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمۡ قَالُوۤا۟ إِنَّمَا ٱلۡبَیۡعُ مِثۡلُ ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟ۗ وَأَحَلَّ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡبَیۡعَ وَحَرَّمَ ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟ۚ فَمَن جَاۤءَهُۥ مَوۡعِظَةࣱ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ فَٱنتَهَىٰ فَلَهُۥ مَا سَلَفَ وَأَمۡرُهُۥۤ إِلَى ٱللَّهِۖ وَمَنۡ عَادَ فَأُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ أَصۡحَـٰبُ ٱلنَّارِۖ هُمۡ فِیهَا خَـٰلِدُونَ ۝٢٧٥ alladhīna yakulūna l-riba lā yaqūmūna illā kamā yaqūmu alladhī yatakhabbaṭuhu l-shayṭānu mina l-masi dhālika bi-annahum qālū innamā l-bayʿu mith'lu l-riba wa-aḥalla l-lahu l-bayʿa waḥarrama l-riba faman jāahu mawʿiẓatun min rabbihi fa-intahā falahu mā salafa wa-amruhu ilā l-lahi waman ʿāda fa-ulāika aṣḥābu l-nāri hum fīhā khālidūn But those who take usury will rise up on the Day of Resurrection like someone tormented by Satan’s touch. That is because they say, ‘Trade and usury are the same,’ 276 یَمۡحَقُ ٱللَّهُ ٱلرِّبَوٰا۟ وَیُرۡبِی ٱلصَّدَقَـٰتِۗ وَٱللَّهُ لَا یُحِبُّ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ أَثِیمٍ ۝٢٧٦ yamḥaqu l-lahu l-riba wayur'bī l-ṣadaqāti wal-lahu lā yuḥibbu kulla kaffārin athīmi but God has allowed trade and forbidden usury. Whoever, on receiving God’s warning, stops taking usury may keep his past gains- God will be his judge- but whoever goes back to usury will be an inhabitant of the Fire, there to remain. God blights usury, but blesses charitable deeds with multiple increase: He does not love the ungrateful sinner
277 إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ وَأَقَامُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتَوُا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ لَهُمۡ أَجۡرُهُمۡ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡ وَلَا خَوۡفٌ عَلَیۡهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ یَحۡزَنُونَ ۝٢٧٧ inna alladhīna āmanū waʿamilū l-ṣāliḥāti wa-aqāmū l-ṣalata waātawū l-zakata lahum ajruhum ʿinda rabbihim walā khawfun ʿalayhim walā hum yaḥzanūn Those who believe, do good deeds, keep up the prayer, and pay the prescribed alms will have their reward with their Lord: no fear for them, nor will they grieve
278 یَـٰۤأَیُّهَا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ ٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَذَرُوا۟ مَا بَقِیَ مِنَ ٱلرِّبَوٰۤا۟ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤۡمِنِینَ ۝٢٧٨ yāayyuhā alladhīna āmanū ittaqū l-laha wadharū mā baqiya mina l-riba in kuntum mu'minīn You who believe, beware of God: give up any outstanding dues from usury, if you are true believers 279 فَإِن لَّمۡ تَفۡعَلُوا۟ فَأۡذَنُوا۟ بِحَرۡبࣲ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦۖ وَإِن تُبۡتُمۡ فَلَكُمۡ رُءُوسُ أَمۡوَ ٰلِكُمۡ لَا تَظۡلِمُونَ وَلَا تُظۡلَمُونَ ۝٢٧٩ fa-in lam tafʿalū fadhanū biḥarbin mina l-lahi warasūlihi wa-in tub'tum falakum ruūsu amwālikum lā taẓlimūna walā tuẓ'lamūn If you do not, then be warned of war from God and His Messenger. You shall have your capital if you repent, and without suffering loss or causing others to suffer loss 280 وَإِن كَانَ ذُو عُسۡرَةࣲ فَنَظِرَةٌ إِلَىٰ مَیۡسَرَةࣲۚ وَأَن تَصَدَّقُوا۟ خَیۡرࣱ لَّكُمۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٢٨٠ wa-in kāna dhū ʿus'ratin fanaẓiratun ilā maysaratin wa-an taṣaddaqū khayrun lakum in kuntum taʿlamūn If the debtor is in difficulty, then delay things until matters become easier for him; still, if you were to write it off as an act of charity, that would be better for you, if only you knew 281 وَٱتَّقُوا۟ یَوۡمࣰا تُرۡجَعُونَ فِیهِ إِلَى ٱللَّهِۖ ثُمَّ تُوَفَّىٰ كُلُّ نَفۡسࣲ مَّا كَسَبَتۡ وَهُمۡ لَا یُظۡلَمُونَ ۝٢٨١ wa-ittaqū yawman tur'jaʿūna fīhi ilā l-lahi thumma tuwaffā kullu nafsin mā kasabat wahum lā yuẓ'lamūn Beware of a Day when you will be returned to God: every soul will be paid in full for what it has earned, and no one will be wronged
