Allah Does Not Bless Riba
Allah states that He destroys Riba, either by removing this money from those who eat it, or by depriving them of the blessing, and thus the benefit of their money. Because of their Riba, Allah will torment them in this life and punish them for it on the Day of Resurrection. Allah said,
قُل لاَّ يَسْتَوِى الْخَبِيثُ وَالطَّيِّبُ وَلَوْ أَعْجَبَكَ كَثْرَةُ الْخَبِيثِ
(Say: "Not equal are Al-Khabith (evil things) and At-Tayyib (good things), even though the abundance of Al-Khabith may please you") 5:100
وَيَجْعَلَ الْخَبِيثَ بَعْضَهُ عَلَى بَعْضٍ فَيَرْكُمَهُ جَمِيعاً فَيَجْعَلَهُ فِى جَهَنَّمَ
(And put the wicked (disbelievers and doers of evil deeds) one over another, heap them together and cast them into Hell) 8:37, and,
وَمَآ ءَاتَيْتُمْ مِّن رِّباً لِّيَرْبُوَاْ فِى أَمْوَالِ النَّاسِ فَلاَ يَرْبُواْ عِندَ اللَّهِ
(And that which you give in gift (to others), in order that it may increase (your wealth by expecting to get a better one in return) from other people's property, has no increase with Allah) 30:39.
Ibn Jarir said that Allah's statement,
يَمْحَقُ اللَّهُ الْرِّبَواْ
(Allah will destroy Riba) is similar to the statement reported of `Abdullah bin Mas`ud, "Riba will end up with less, even if it was substantial." Imam Ahmad recorded a similar statement in Al-Musnad.
Allah Increases Charity, Just as One Raises His Animal
Allah's statement,
وَيُرْبِى الصَّدَقَـتِ
(And will give increase for Sadaqat) means, Allah makes charity grow, or He increases it. Al-Bukhari recorded that Abu Hurayrah said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said,
«مَنْ تَصَدَّقَ بِعَدْلِ تَمْرَةٍ مِنْ كَسْبٍ طَيِّبٍ، وَلَا يَقْبَلُ اللهُ إِلَّا الطَّيِّبَ، فَإِنَّ اللهَ يَتَقَبَّلُهَا بِيَمِينِهِ، ثُمَّ يُرَبِّيهَا لِصَاحِبِهِ، كَمَا يُرَبِّي أَحَدُكُمْ فَلُوَّهُ حَتَّى تَكُونَ مِثْلَ الْجَبَل»
(Whoever gives in charity what equals a date from honest resources, and Allah only accepts that which is good and pure, then Allah accepts it with His right (Hand) and raises it for its giver, just as one of you raises his animal, until it becomes as big as a mountain.)

Allah Does not Like the Disbelieving Sinners
Allah's statement,
وَاللَّهُ لاَ يُحِبُّ كُلَّ كَفَّارٍ أَثِيمٍ
(And Allah likes not the disbelievers, sinners) indicates that Allah does not like he who has a disbelieving heart, who is a sinner in tongue and action. There is a connection between the beginning of the Ayah on Riba and what Allah ended it with. Those who consume Riba are not satisfied with the permissible and pure resources that Allah provided them. Instead, they try to illegally acquire people's money by relying on evil methods. This demonstrates their lack of appreciation for the bounty that Allah provides.
Praising Those Who Thank Allah
Allah praised those who believe in His Lordship, obey His commands, thank Him and appreciate Him. They are those who are kind to His creation, establish prayer and give charity due on their money. Allah informed them of the honor that He has prepared for them and that they will be safe from the repercussions of the Day of Resurrection. Allah said,
إِنَّ الَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ الصَّـلِحَـتِ وَأَقَامُواْ الصَّلَوةَ وَآتَوُاْ الزَّكَوةَ لَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ وَلاَ خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلاَ هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ
(Truly, those who believe, and do deeds of righteousness, and perform the Salah and give Zakah, they will have their reward with their Lord. On them shall be no fear, nor shall they grieve.)
Those who believe and perform righteous deeds and establish the prayer and pay the alms — their wage awaits them with their Lord and no fear shall befall them neither shall they grieve.
Those who have faith and do wholesome deeds, who perform the prayer and give the alms tax, shall have their wage with their Lord, and no fear shall be upon them, neither shall they grieve. In other words, “Enough for those who come to be Ours will be what they find with Us, for We leave not to waste the wage of those who do beautiful deeds [18:30].” “When someone has recourse to the gate of Our generosity, We give him shelter in the shade of Our blessings. When the dust of Our path falls on someone, the darkness of separation from Us will not fall upon him. When someone takes one step toward Us, he will find a gift with Us.” In other words, “When someone joins with Us, he will escape from the night attack of severance.” Or: “When someone binds his heart to Our generosity, he will pack his bags from the room of sor- rows.” Or: “When someone sees Us, his spirit will laugh. He who reaches himself will reach Us. Nothing can be said about what he who reaches himself will see and hear.” The Pir of the Tariqah said, “O God, all Your caresses are for our sake, for in each breath ap- pears so much burning with the light of Your solicitude. Who has a patron like You? Where is a friend like You? With the attributes that You have, nothing else is fitting. All this is the mark, and the celebration is tomorrow. This indeed is the message, and the robe of honor is in place.” The robe of honor is what He said: “shall have their wage with their Lord, and no fear shall be upon them, neither shall they grieve.” Wait until tomorrow, when He gives out the generous wage and tremendous caress that He has with Himself, the boundless blessings and everlasting triumph, in the assembly of repose and ease [56:89] and the appointed time of union with the Beloved. When will my luck smile at me from Your playing field? When will separation from You strike its tent from my spirit's desert? What wonderful work is the work of the poor! Gabriel, with six hundred peacock wings, could not take one step beyond the Lote Tree along with that paragon of the world.

إن الذين صدقوا الله ورسوله، وعملوا الأعمال الطيبة، وأدَّوا الصلاة كما أمر الله ورسوله، وأخرجوا زكاة أموالهم، لهم ثواب عظيم خاص بهم عند ربهم ورازقهم، ولا يلحقهم خوف في آخرتهم، ولا حزن على ما فاتهم من حظوظ دنياهم.
ثم قال تعالى مادحا للمؤمنين بربهم المطيعين أمره المؤدين شكره المحسنين إلى خلقه في إقامة الصلاة وإيتاء الزكاة مخبرا عما أعد لهم من الكرامة وأنهم يوم القيامة من التبعات آمنون فقال "إن الذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات وأقاموا الصلاة وآتوا الزكاة لهم أجرهم عند ربهم ولا خوف عليهم ولا هم يحزنون".
وبعد هذا التهديد الشديد للمتعاملين بالربا ، ساق - سبحانه - آية فيها أحسن البشارات للمؤمنين الصادقين فقال - تعالى - :( إِنَّ الذين آمَنُواْ ) أي إيماناً كاملا بكل ما أمر الله به ( وَعَمِلُواْ الصالحات ) أي الأعمال الصالحة التي تصلح بها نفوسهم والتي من جملتها الإِحسان إلى المحتاجين ، والابتعاد عن الربا والمرابين ( وَأَقَامُواْ الصلاة ) بالطريقة التي أمر الله بها ، بأن يؤدوهها في أوقاتها بخشوع واطمئنان ( وَآتَوُاْ الزكاة ) أي أعطوها لمستحقيها بإخلاص وطيب نفس .هؤلاء الذين اتصفوا بكل هذه الصفات الفاضلة ( لَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِندَ رَبِّهِمْ ) أي لهم ثوابهم والكامل عند خالقهم ورازقهم ومربيهم .( وَلاَ خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ ) يوم الفزع الاكبر ( وَلاَ هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ ) لأي سبب من الأسباب ، لأن ما هم فيه من أمان واطمئنان ورضوان من الله - تعالى - يجعلهم في فرح دائم ، وفي سرور مقيم .
القول في تأويل قوله تعالى : إِنَّ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ وَأَقَامُوا الصَّلاةَ وَآتَوُا الزَّكَاةَ لَهُمْ أَجْرُهُمْ عِنْدَ رَبِّهِمْ وَلا خَوْفٌ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلا هُمْ يَحْزَنُونَ (277)قال أبو جعفر: وهذا خبر من الله عز وجل بأن الذين آمنوا = يعني الذين صدقوا بالله وبرسوله، وبما جاء به من عند ربهم، من تحريم الربا وأكله، وغير ذلك من سائر شرائع دينه =" وعملوا الصالحات " التي أمرهم الله عز وجل بها، والتي نَدَبهم إليها =" وأقاموا الصلاة " المفروضة بحدودها، وأدّوها بسُنَنها =" وآتوا الزكاة " المفروضة عليهم في أموالهم، بعد الذي سلف منهم من أكل الرّبا، قبل مجيء الموعظة فيه من عند ربهم =" لهم أجرهم "، يعني ثواب ذلك من أعمالهم وإيمانهم وصَدَقتهم =" عند ربهم " يوم حاجتهم إليه في معادهم = " ولا خوف عليهم " يومئذ من عقابه على ما كان سلف منهم في جاهليتهم وكفرهم قبل مجيئهم موعظة من ربهم، من أكل ما كانوا أكلوا من الربا، بما كان من إنابتهم، وتوبتهم إلى الله عز وجل من ذلك عند مجيئهم الموعظة من ربهم، &; 6-22 &; وتصديقهم بوعد الله ووعيده =" ولا هم يحزنون " على تركهم ما كانوا تركوا في الدنيا من أكل الربا والعمل به، إذا عاينوا جزيل ثواب الله تبارك وتعالى، وهم على تركهم ما ترَكوا من ذلك في الدنيا ابتغاءَ رضوانه في الآخرة، فوصلوا إلى ما وُعدوا على تركه.
" إن الذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات وأقاموا الصلاة وآتوا الزكاة لهم أجرهم عند ربهم ولا خوف عليهم ولا هم يحزنون ".
جملة معترضة لمقابلة الذم بالمدح ، وقد تقدم تفسير نظيرتها قريباً . والمقصود التعريض بأنّ الصفات المقابلة لهاته الصفات صفتُ غير المؤمنين . والمناسبة تزداد ظهوراً لقوله : { وأتوا الزكاة } .
لما ذكر أكلة الربا وكان من المعلوم أنهم لو كانوا مؤمنين إيمانا ينفعهم لم يصدر منهم ما صدر ذكر حالة المؤمنين وأجرهم، وخاطبهم بالإيمان، ونهاهم عن أكل الربا إن كانوا مؤمنين، وهؤلاء هم الذين يقبلون موعظة ربهم وينقادون لأمره، وأمرهم أن يتقوه، ومن جملة تقواه أن يذروا ما بقي من الربا أي: المعاملات الحاضرة الموجودة، وأما ما سلف، فمن اتعظ عفا الله عنه ما سلف، وأما من لم ينزجر بموعظة الله ولم يقبل نصيحته فإنه مشاق لربه محارب له، وهو عاجز ضعيف ليس له يدان في محاربة العزيز الحكيم الذي يمهل للظالم ولا يهمله حتى إذا أخذه، أخذه أخذ عزيز مقتدر { وإن تبتم } عن الربا { فلكم رءوس أموالكم } أي: أنزلوا عليها { لا تظلمون } من عاملتموه بأخذ الزيادة التي هي الربا { ولا تظلمون } بنقص رءوس أموالكم.
وقد تقدم القول في قوله تعالى : إن الذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات وأقاموا الصلاة وآتوا الزكاة وخص الصلاة والزكاة بالذكر وقد تضمنها عمل الصالحات تشريفا لهما وتنبيها على قدرهما إذ هما رأس الأعمال ؛ الصلاة في أعمال البدن ، والزكاة في أعمال المال .
Man has not been sent into this world to hoard wealth. All the good things of this life are meant for the next world. Man has been sent into this world so that it may be judged whether or not he has developed those qualities that would qualify him to inherit the world of Paradise in the Hereafter. Those adjudged fit to dwell in Paradise will be separated from the unfit, and the latter will be consigned to hell. Practicing charity (sadaqah) means giving one’s wealth to the needy for the sake of God, while engaging in usury means giving one’s wealth in order to exploit others. Sadaqah is an indication of the fact that man wants to see the massive array of God’s blessings in the next world, whereas usury is indicative of the fact that he wants to amass fortunes in this world itself. The alms-giver and the usurer are two different types of individuals. It is not possible that they will both have the same fate in the Hereafter. Only those find the world who have worked hard for it; similarly, only those will find the Hereafter who have sacrificed their wealth in order to receive God’s blessings in the Hereafter.
The third verse (277) mentions the great reward of peace and comfort that awaits the truly believing and practising Muslims, who are steadfast in Salah نماز and زکاۃ Zakah. Since, in the verse previous to this, the punishment of Hell and the disgrace the consumers of ربا riba will be facing was mentioned, so in accordance with the general style of the noble Qur'an, the merit - in آخرۃ Akhirah - of the believing-practising Muslims, those steadfast in Salah نماز and زکاۃ Zakah, was mentioned alongside.
(Lo! Those who believe) in Allah, His messengers, scriptures as well as in the unlawfulness of usury (and do good works) regarding what is between them and their Lord and avoid usury (and establish worship) complete the five daily prayers with all that which is obligated in them (and pay the poor-due) and give the poor-due of their wealth, (their reward is with their Lord) in Paradise (and there shall no fear come upon them) when death is slain (neither shall they grieve) when the Fire is closed.
