20
فَأَلۡقَىٰهَا فَإِذَا هِیَ حَیَّةࣱ تَسۡعَىٰ ٢٠
fa-alqāhā fa-idhā hiya ḥayyatun tasʿ
He threw it down and- lo and behold!- it became a fast-moving snake
21
قَالَ خُذۡهَا وَلَا تَخَفۡۖ سَنُعِیدُهَا سِیرَتَهَا ٱلۡأُولَىٰ ٢١
qāla khudh'hā walā takhaf sanuʿīduhā sīratahā l-ūl
He said, ‘Pick it up without fear: We shall turn it back into its former state
22
وَٱضۡمُمۡ یَدَكَ إِلَىٰ جَنَاحِكَ تَخۡرُجۡ بَیۡضَاۤءَ مِنۡ غَیۡرِ سُوۤءٍ ءَایَةً أُخۡرَىٰ ٢٢
wa-uḍ'mum yadaka ilā janāḥika takhruj bayḍāa min ghayri sūin āyatan ukh'r
Now place your hand under your armpit and it will come out white, though unharmed: that is another sign
23
لِنُرِیَكَ مِنۡ ءَایَـٰتِنَا ٱلۡكُبۡرَى ٢٣
linuriyaka min āyātinā l-kub'r
We do this to show you some of Our greatest signs
24
ٱذۡهَبۡ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ ٢٤
idh'hab ilā fir'ʿawna innahu ṭagh
Go to Pharaoh, for he has truly become a tyrant.’
25
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱشۡرَحۡ لِی صَدۡرِی ٢٥
qāla rabbi ish'raḥ lī ṣadr
Moses said, ‘Lord, lift up my hear
26
وَیَسِّرۡ لِیۤ أَمۡرِی ٢٦
wayassir lī amr
and ease my task for me
27
وَٱحۡلُلۡ عُقۡدَةࣰ مِّن لِّسَانِی ٢٧
wa-uḥ'lul ʿuq'datan min lisān
Untie my tongue
28
یَفۡقَهُوا۟ قَوۡلِی ٢٨
yafqahū qawl
so that they may understand my words
