Verse 23:58 in Context

54
فَذَرۡهُمۡ فِی غَمۡرَتِهِمۡ حَتَّىٰ حِینٍ ٥٤
fadharhum fī ghamratihim ḥattā ḥīni
So [Muhammad] leave them for a while steeped [in their ignorance]
55
أَیَحۡسَبُونَ أَنَّمَا نُمِدُّهُم بِهِۦ مِن مَّالࣲ وَبَنِینَ ٥٥
ayaḥsabūna annamā numidduhum bihi min mālin wabanīn
Do they reckon that, by giving them wealth and sons
56
نُسَارِعُ لَهُمۡ فِی ٱلۡخَیۡرَ ٰتِۚ بَل لَّا یَشۡعُرُونَ ٥٦
nusāriʿu lahum fī l-khayrāti bal lā yashʿurūn
We race to give them good things? They really have no idea
57
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ هُم مِّنۡ خَشۡیَةِ رَبِّهِم مُّشۡفِقُونَ ٥٧
inna alladhīna hum min khashyati rabbihim mush'fiqūn
Those who stand in awe of their Lord
58
وَٱلَّذِینَ هُم بِءَایَـٰتِ رَبِّهِمۡ یُؤۡمِنُونَ ٥٨
wa-alladhīna hum biāyāti rabbihim yu'minūn
who believe in His messages
59
وَٱلَّذِینَ هُم بِرَبِّهِمۡ لَا یُشۡرِكُونَ ٥٩
wa-alladhīna hum birabbihim lā yush'rikūn
who do not ascribe partners to Him
60
وَٱلَّذِینَ یُؤۡتُونَ مَاۤ ءَاتَوا۟ وَّقُلُوبُهُمۡ وَجِلَةٌ أَنَّهُمۡ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمۡ رَ ٰجِعُونَ ٦٠
wa-alladhīna yu'tūna mā ātaw waqulūbuhum wajilatun annahum ilā rabbihim rājiʿūn
who always give with hearts that tremble at the thought that they must return to Him
61
أُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ یُسَـٰرِعُونَ فِی ٱلۡخَیۡرَ ٰتِ وَهُمۡ لَهَا سَـٰبِقُونَ ٦١
ulāika yusāriʿūna fī l-khayrāti wahum lahā sābiqūn
are the ones who race toward good things, and they will be the first to get them
62
وَلَا نُكَلِّفُ نَفۡسًا إِلَّا وُسۡعَهَاۚ وَلَدَیۡنَا كِتَـٰبࣱ یَنطِقُ بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَهُمۡ لَا یُظۡلَمُونَ ٦٢
walā nukallifu nafsan illā wus'ʿahā waladaynā kitābun yanṭiqu bil-ḥaqi wahum lā yuẓ'lamūn
We do not burden any soul with more than it can bear- We have a Record that tells the truth- they will not be wronged
