172 ٱلَّذِینَ ٱسۡتَجَابُوا۟ لِلَّهِ وَٱلرَّسُولِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَاۤ أَصَابَهُمُ ٱلۡقَرۡحُۚ لِلَّذِینَ أَحۡسَنُوا۟ مِنۡهُمۡ وَٱتَّقَوۡا۟ أَجۡرٌ عَظِیمٌ ۝١٧٢ alladhīna is'tajābū lillahi wal-rasūli min baʿdi mā aṣābahumu l-qarḥu lilladhīna aḥsanū min'hum wa-ittaqaw ajrun ʿaẓīmu Those who responded to God and the Messenger after suffering defeat, who do good and remain conscious of God, will have a great reward 173 ٱلَّذِینَ قَالَ لَهُمُ ٱلنَّاسُ إِنَّ ٱلنَّاسَ قَدۡ جَمَعُوا۟ لَكُمۡ فَٱخۡشَوۡهُمۡ فَزَادَهُمۡ إِیمَـٰنࣰا وَقَالُوا۟ حَسۡبُنَا ٱللَّهُ وَنِعۡمَ ٱلۡوَكِیلُ ۝١٧٣ alladhīna qāla lahumu l-nāsu inna l-nāsa qad jamaʿū lakum fa-ikh'shawhum fazādahum īmānan waqālū ḥasbunā l-lahu waniʿ'ma l-wakīl Those whose faith only increased when people said, ‘Fear your enemy: they have amassed a great army against you,’ and who replied, ‘God is enough for us: He is the best protector,’ 174 فَٱنقَلَبُوا۟ بِنِعۡمَةࣲ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَفَضۡلࣲ لَّمۡ یَمۡسَسۡهُمۡ سُوۤءࣱ وَٱتَّبَعُوا۟ رِضۡوَ ٰنَ ٱللَّهِۗ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو فَضۡلٍ عَظِیمٍ ۝١٧٤ fa-inqalabū biniʿ'matin mina l-lahi wafaḍlin lam yamsashum sūon wa-ittabaʿū riḍ'wāna l-lahi wal-lahu dhū faḍlin ʿaẓīmi returned with grace and bounty from God; no harm befell them. They pursued God’s good pleasure. God’s favour is great indeed 175 إِنَّمَا ذَ ٰلِكُمُ ٱلشَّیۡطَـٰنُ یُخَوِّفُ أَوۡلِیَاۤءَهُۥ فَلَا تَخَافُوهُمۡ وَخَافُونِ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤۡمِنِینَ ۝١٧٥ innamā dhālikumu l-shayṭānu yukhawwifu awliyāahu falā takhāfūhum wakhāfūni in kuntum mu'minīn It is Satan who urges you to fear his followers; do not fear them, but fear Me, if you are true believers
176 وَلَا یَحۡزُنكَ ٱلَّذِینَ یُسَـٰرِعُونَ فِی ٱلۡكُفۡرِۚ إِنَّهُمۡ لَن یَضُرُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ شَیۡءࣰاۗ یُرِیدُ ٱللَّهُ أَلَّا یَجۡعَلَ لَهُمۡ حَظࣰّا فِی ٱلۡءَاخِرَةِۖ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ عَظِیمٌ ۝١٧٦ walā yaḥzunka alladhīna yusāriʿūna fī l-kuf'ri innahum lan yaḍurrū l-laha shayan yurīdu l-lahu allā yajʿala lahum ḥaẓẓan fī l-ākhirati walahum ʿadhābun ʿaẓīmu [Prophet], do not be grieved by those who are quick to disbelieve. They will not harm God in the least; it is God’s will that they will have no share in the Hereafter- a terrible torment awaits them
177 إِنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ ٱشۡتَرَوُا۟ ٱلۡكُفۡرَ بِٱلۡإِیمَـٰنِ لَن یَضُرُّوا۟ ٱللَّهَ شَیۡءࣰاۖ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابٌ أَلِیمࣱ ۝١٧٧ inna alladhīna ish'tarawū l-kuf'ra bil-īmāni lan yaḍurrū l-laha shayan walahum ʿadhābun alīmu Those who sell their faith for disbelief will not harm God in any way; agonizing torment awaits them 178 وَلَا یَحۡسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوۤا۟ أَنَّمَا نُمۡلِی لَهُمۡ خَیۡرࣱ لِّأَنفُسِهِمۡۚ إِنَّمَا نُمۡلِی لَهُمۡ لِیَزۡدَادُوۤا۟ إِثۡمࣰاۖ وَلَهُمۡ عَذَابࣱ مُّهِینࣱ ۝١٧٨ walā yaḥsabanna alladhīna kafarū annamā num'lī lahum khayrun li-anfusihim innamā num'lī lahum liyazdādū ith'man walahum ʿadhābun muhīnu The disbelievers should not think that it is better for them that We give them more time: when We give them more time they become more sinful- a shameful torment awaits them 179 مَّا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِیَذَرَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ عَلَىٰ مَاۤ أَنتُمۡ عَلَیۡهِ حَتَّىٰ یَمِیزَ ٱلۡخَبِیثَ مِنَ ٱلطَّیِّبِۗ وَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِیُطۡلِعَكُمۡ عَلَى ٱلۡغَیۡبِ وَلَـٰكِنَّ ٱللَّهَ یَجۡتَبِی مِن رُّسُلِهِۦ مَن یَشَاۤءُۖ فَءَامِنُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦۚ وَإِن تُؤۡمِنُوا۟ وَتَتَّقُوا۟ فَلَكُمۡ أَجۡرٌ عَظِیمࣱ ۝١٧٩ mā kāna l-lahu liyadhara l-mu'minīna ʿalā mā antum ʿalayhi ḥattā yamīza l-khabītha mina l-ṭayibi wamā kāna l-lahu liyuṭ'liʿakum ʿalā l-ghaybi walākinna l-laha yajtabī min rusulihi man yashāu faāminū bil-lahi warusulihi wa-in tu'minū watattaqū falakum ajrun ʿaẓīmu Nor was it God’s aim to leave you as you were, with no separation between the bad and the good. God would not show you [people] what is hidden; God chooses as His messengers whoever He will. So believe in God and His messengers: if you believe and stay mindful of God, you will have a great reward 180 وَلَا یَحۡسَبَنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ یَبۡخَلُونَ بِمَاۤ ءَاتَىٰهُمُ ٱللَّهُ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦ هُوَ خَیۡرࣰا لَّهُمۖ بَلۡ هُوَ شَرࣱّ لَّهُمۡۖ سَیُطَوَّقُونَ مَا بَخِلُوا۟ بِهِۦ یَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِیَـٰمَةِۗ وَلِلَّهِ مِیرَ ٰثُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۗ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ خَبِیرࣱ ۝١٨٠ walā yaḥsabanna alladhīna yabkhalūna bimā ātāhumu l-lahu min faḍlihi huwa khayran lahum bal huwa sharrun lahum sayuṭawwaqūna mā bakhilū bihi yawma l-qiyāmati walillahi mīrāthu l-samāwāti wal-arḍi wal-lahu bimā taʿmalūna khabīru Those who are miserly with what God has granted them out of His grace should not think that it is good for them; on the contrary, it is bad for them. Whatever they meanly withhold will be hung around their necks on the Day of Resurrection. It is God who will inherit the heavens and earth: God is well aware of everything you do
