Verse 37:129 in Context

125 أَتَدۡعُونَ بَعۡلࣰا وَتَذَرُونَ أَحۡسَنَ ٱلۡخَـٰلِقِینَ ۝١٢٥ atadʿūna baʿlan watadharūna aḥsana l-khāliqīn How can you invoke Baal and forsake the Most Gracious Creator 126 ٱللَّهَ رَبَّكُمۡ وَرَبَّ ءَابَاۤىِٕكُمُ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ ۝١٢٦ al-laha rabbakum warabba ābāikumu l-awalīn God, your Lord and the Lord of your forefathers?’ 127 فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَإِنَّهُمۡ لَمُحۡضَرُونَ ۝١٢٧ fakadhabūhu fa-innahum lamuḥ'ḍarūn but they rejected him. They will be brought to punishment as a consequence 128 إِلَّا عِبَادَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِینَ ۝١٢٨ illā ʿibāda l-lahi l-mukh'laṣīn not so the true servants of God
129 وَتَرَكۡنَا عَلَیۡهِ فِی ٱلۡءَاخِرِینَ ۝١٢٩ wataraknā ʿalayhi fī l-ākhirīn We let him be praised by succeeding generations
130 سَلَـٰمٌ عَلَىٰۤ إِلۡ یَاسِینَ ۝١٣٠ salāmun ʿalā il yāsīn ‘Peace be to Elijah!’ 131 إِنَّا كَذَ ٰلِكَ نَجۡزِی ٱلۡمُحۡسِنِینَ ۝١٣١ innā kadhālika najzī l-muḥ'sinīn This is how We reward those who do good 132 إِنَّهُۥ مِنۡ عِبَادِنَا ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ ۝١٣٢ innahu min ʿibādinā l-mu'minīn truly he was one of Our faithful servants 133 وَإِنَّ لُوطࣰا لَّمِنَ ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِینَ ۝١٣٣ wa-inna lūṭan lamina l-mur'salīn Lot was also one of the messengers
