Verse 37:151 in Context

147 وَأَرۡسَلۡنَـٰهُ إِلَىٰ مِا۟ئَةِ أَلۡفٍ أَوۡ یَزِیدُونَ ۝١٤٧ wa-arsalnāhu ilā mi-ati alfin aw yazīdūn We sent him to a hundred thousand people or more 148 فَءَامَنُوا۟ فَمَتَّعۡنَـٰهُمۡ إِلَىٰ حِینࣲ ۝١٤٨ faāmanū famattaʿnāhum ilā ḥīni They believed, so We let them live out their lives 149 فَٱسۡتَفۡتِهِمۡ أَلِرَبِّكَ ٱلۡبَنَاتُ وَلَهُمُ ٱلۡبَنُونَ ۝١٤٩ fa-is'taftihim alirabbika l-banātu walahumu l-banūn Now [Muhammad], ask the disbelievers: is it true that your Lord has daughters, while they choose sons for themselves 150 أَمۡ خَلَقۡنَا ٱلۡمَلَـٰۤىِٕكَةَ إِنَـٰثࣰا وَهُمۡ شَـٰهِدُونَ ۝١٥٠ am khalaqnā l-malāikata ināthan wahum shāhidūn Did We create the angels as females while they were watching
151 أَلَاۤ إِنَّهُم مِّنۡ إِفۡكِهِمۡ لَیَقُولُونَ ۝١٥١ alā innahum min if'kihim layaqūlūn No indeed! It is one of their lies when they say
152 وَلَدَ ٱللَّهُ وَإِنَّهُمۡ لَكَـٰذِبُونَ ۝١٥٢ walada l-lahu wa-innahum lakādhibūn ‘God has begotten.’ How they lie 153 أَصۡطَفَى ٱلۡبَنَاتِ عَلَى ٱلۡبَنِینَ ۝١٥٣ aṣṭafā l-banāti ʿalā l-banīn Did He truly choose daughters in preference to sons 154 مَا لَكُمۡ كَیۡفَ تَحۡكُمُونَ ۝١٥٤ mā lakum kayfa taḥkumūn What is the matter with you? How do you form your judgements 155 أَفَلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ ۝١٥٥ afalā tadhakkarūn Do you not reflect
