76 قَالَ أَنَا۠ خَیۡرࣱ مِّنۡهُ خَلَقۡتَنِی مِن نَّارࣲ وَخَلَقۡتَهُۥ مِن طِینࣲ ۝٧٦ qāla anā khayrun min'hu khalaqtanī min nārin wakhalaqtahu min ṭīni Iblis said, ‘I am better than him: You made me from fire, and him from clay.’ 77 قَالَ فَٱخۡرُجۡ مِنۡهَا فَإِنَّكَ رَجِیمࣱ ۝٧٧ qāla fa-ukh'ruj min'hā fa-innaka rajīmu ‘Get out of here! You are rejected 78 وَإِنَّ عَلَیۡكَ لَعۡنَتِیۤ إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ ٱلدِّینِ ۝٧٨ wa-inna ʿalayka laʿnatī ilā yawmi l-dīn My rejection will follow you till the Day of Judgement!’ 79 قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرۡنِیۤ إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ یُبۡعَثُونَ ۝٧٩ qāla rabbi fa-anẓir'nī ilā yawmi yub'ʿathūn but Iblis said, ‘My Lord, grant me respite until the Day when they are raised from the dead,’
80 قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُنظَرِینَ ۝٨٠ qāla fa-innaka mina l-munẓarīn so He said, ‘You have respit
81 إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ ٱلۡوَقۡتِ ٱلۡمَعۡلُومِ ۝٨١ ilā yawmi l-waqti l-maʿlūm till the Appointed Day.’ 82 قَالَ فَبِعِزَّتِكَ لَأُغۡوِیَنَّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِینَ ۝٨٢ qāla fabiʿizzatika la-ugh'wiyannahum ajmaʿīn Iblis said, ‘I swear by Your might! I will tempt al 83 إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنۡهُمُ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِینَ ۝٨٣ illā ʿibādaka min'humu l-mukh'laṣīn but Your true servants.’ 84 قَالَ فَٱلۡحَقُّ وَٱلۡحَقَّ أَقُولُ ۝٨٤ qāla fal-ḥaqu wal-ḥaqa aqūl God said, ‘This is the truth- I speak only the truth
