78
وَإِنَّ عَلَیۡكَ لَعۡنَتِیۤ إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ ٱلدِّینِ ٧٨
wa-inna ʿalayka laʿnatī ilā yawmi l-dīn
My rejection will follow you till the Day of Judgement!’
79
قَالَ رَبِّ فَأَنظِرۡنِیۤ إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ یُبۡعَثُونَ ٧٩
qāla rabbi fa-anẓir'nī ilā yawmi yub'ʿathūn
but Iblis said, ‘My Lord, grant me respite until the Day when they are raised from the dead,’
80
قَالَ فَإِنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُنظَرِینَ ٨٠
qāla fa-innaka mina l-munẓarīn
so He said, ‘You have respit
81
إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ ٱلۡوَقۡتِ ٱلۡمَعۡلُومِ ٨١
ilā yawmi l-waqti l-maʿlūm
till the Appointed Day.’
82
قَالَ فَبِعِزَّتِكَ لَأُغۡوِیَنَّهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِینَ ٨٢
qāla fabiʿizzatika la-ugh'wiyannahum ajmaʿīn
Iblis said, ‘I swear by Your might! I will tempt al
83
إِلَّا عِبَادَكَ مِنۡهُمُ ٱلۡمُخۡلَصِینَ ٨٣
illā ʿibādaka min'humu l-mukh'laṣīn
but Your true servants.’
84
قَالَ فَٱلۡحَقُّ وَٱلۡحَقَّ أَقُولُ ٨٤
qāla fal-ḥaqu wal-ḥaqa aqūl
God said, ‘This is the truth- I speak only the truth
85
لَأَمۡلَأَنَّ جَهَنَّمَ مِنكَ وَمِمَّن تَبِعَكَ مِنۡهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِینَ ٨٥
la-amla-anna jahannama minka wamimman tabiʿaka min'hum ajmaʿīn
I will fill Hell with you and all those that follow you.’

قُلۡ مَاۤ أَسۡءَلُكُمۡ عَلَیۡهِ مِنۡ أَجۡرࣲ وَمَاۤ أَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلۡمُتَكَلِّفِینَ ٨٦
qul mā asalukum ʿalayhi min ajrin wamā anā mina l-mutakalifīn
[Prophet], say, ‘I ask no reward from you for this, nor do I claim to be what I am not
