25 أَءُلۡقِیَ ٱلذِّكۡرُ عَلَیۡهِ مِنۢ بَیۡنِنَا بَلۡ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرࣱ ۝٢٥ a-ul'qiya l-dhik'ru ʿalayhi min bayninā bal huwa kadhābun ashiru Would a mes-sage be given to him alone out of all of us? No, he is an insolent liar!’ 26 سَیَعۡلَمُونَ غَدࣰا مَّنِ ٱلۡكَذَّابُ ٱلۡأَشِرُ ۝٢٦ sayaʿlamūna ghadan mani l-kadhābu l-ashir ‘Tomorrow they will know who is the insolent liar 27 إِنَّا مُرۡسِلُوا۟ ٱلنَّاقَةِ فِتۡنَةࣰ لَّهُمۡ فَٱرۡتَقِبۡهُمۡ وَٱصۡطَبِرۡ ۝٢٧ innā mur'silū l-nāqati fit'natan lahum fa-ir'taqib'hum wa-iṣ'ṭabi for We shall send them a she-camel to test them: so watch them [Salih] and be patient 28 وَنَبِّئۡهُمۡ أَنَّ ٱلۡمَاۤءَ قِسۡمَةُۢ بَیۡنَهُمۡۖ كُلُّ شِرۡبࣲ مُّحۡتَضَرࣱ ۝٢٨ wanabbi'hum anna l-māa qis'matun baynahum kullu shir'bin muḥ'taḍaru Tell them the water is to be shared between them: each one should drink in turn.’
29 فَنَادَوۡا۟ صَاحِبَهُمۡ فَتَعَاطَىٰ فَعَقَرَ ۝٢٩ fanādaw ṣāḥibahum fataʿāṭā faʿaqar But they called their companion, who took a sword and hamstrung the camel
30 فَكَیۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِی وَنُذُرِ ۝٣٠ fakayfa kāna ʿadhābī wanudhur How [terrible] was My punishment and [the fulfilment of] My warnings 31 إِنَّاۤ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَیۡهِمۡ صَیۡحَةࣰ وَ ٰحِدَةࣰ فَكَانُوا۟ كَهَشِیمِ ٱلۡمُحۡتَظِرِ ۝٣١ innā arsalnā ʿalayhim ṣayḥatan wāḥidatan fakānū kahashīmi l-muḥ'taẓir We released a single mighty blast against them and they ended up like a fencemaker’s dry sticks 32 وَلَقَدۡ یَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرࣲ ۝٣٢ walaqad yassarnā l-qur'āna lildhik'ri fahal min muddakiri We have made it easy to learn lessons from the Quran: will anyone take heed 33 كَذَّبَتۡ قَوۡمُ لُوطِۭ بِٱلنُّذُرِ ۝٣٣ kadhabat qawmu lūṭin bil-nudhur The people of Lot rejected the warnings
