Verse 56:53 in Context

49 قُلۡ إِنَّ ٱلۡأَوَّلِینَ وَٱلۡءَاخِرِینَ ۝٤٩ qul inna l-awalīna wal-ākhirīn Say [Prophet], ‘The earliest and latest generation 50 لَمَجۡمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِیقَـٰتِ یَوۡمࣲ مَّعۡلُومࣲ ۝٥٠ lamajmūʿūna ilā mīqāti yawmin maʿlūmi will all be gathered on a predetermined Da 51 ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمۡ أَیُّهَا ٱلضَّاۤلُّونَ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبُونَ ۝٥١ thumma innakum ayyuhā l-ḍālūna l-mukadhibūn and you who have gone astray and denied the trut 52 لَءَاكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرࣲ مِّن زَقُّومࣲ ۝٥٢ laākilūna min shajarin min zaqqūmi will eat from the bitter tree of Zaqqum
53 فَمَالِءُونَ مِنۡهَا ٱلۡبُطُونَ ۝٥٣ famāliūna min'hā l-buṭūn filling your bellies with it
54 فَشَـٰرِبُونَ عَلَیۡهِ مِنَ ٱلۡحَمِیمِ ۝٥٤ fashāribūna ʿalayhi mina l-ḥamīm and drink scalding water 55 فَشَـٰرِبُونَ شُرۡبَ ٱلۡهِیمِ ۝٥٥ fashāribūna shur'ba l-hīm lapping it like thirsty camels.’ 56 هَـٰذَا نُزُلُهُمۡ یَوۡمَ ٱلدِّینِ ۝٥٦ hādhā nuzuluhum yawma l-dīn This will be their welcome on the Day of Judgement 57 نَحۡنُ خَلَقۡنَـٰكُمۡ فَلَوۡلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ ۝٥٧ naḥnu khalaqnākum falawlā tuṣaddiqūn It was We who created you: will you not believe
