Verse 69:48 in Context

44
وَلَوۡ تَقَوَّلَ عَلَیۡنَا بَعۡضَ ٱلۡأَقَاوِیلِ ٤٤
walaw taqawwala ʿalaynā baʿḍa l-aqāwīl
if [the Prophet] had attributed some fabrication to Us
45
لَأَخَذۡنَا مِنۡهُ بِٱلۡیَمِینِ ٤٥
la-akhadhnā min'hu bil-yamīn
We would certainly have seized his right han
46
ثُمَّ لَقَطَعۡنَا مِنۡهُ ٱلۡوَتِینَ ٤٦
thumma laqaṭaʿnā min'hu l-watīn
and cut off his lifeblood
47
فَمَا مِنكُم مِّنۡ أَحَدٍ عَنۡهُ حَـٰجِزِینَ ٤٧
famā minkum min aḥadin ʿanhu ḥājizīn
and none of you could have defended him
48
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَذۡكِرَةࣱ لِّلۡمُتَّقِینَ ٤٨
wa-innahu latadhkiratun lil'muttaqīn
This [Quran] is a reminder for those who are aware of God
49
وَإِنَّا لَنَعۡلَمُ أَنَّ مِنكُم مُّكَذِّبِینَ ٤٩
wa-innā lanaʿlamu anna minkum mukadhibīn
We know that some of you consider it to be lies
50
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَسۡرَةٌ عَلَى ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِینَ ٥٠
wa-innahu laḥasratun ʿalā l-kāfirīn
this will be a source of bitter regret for the disbelievers
51
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَحَقُّ ٱلۡیَقِینِ ٥١
wa-innahu laḥaqqu l-yaqīn
but it is in fact the certain Truth
52
فَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِیمِ ٥٢
fasabbiḥ bi-is'mi rabbika l-ʿaẓīm
So [Prophet] glorify the name of your Lord, the Almighty
