Verse 70:29 in Context

25
لِّلسَّاۤىِٕلِ وَٱلۡمَحۡرُومِ ٢٥
lilssāili wal-maḥrūm
to beggars and the deprived
26
وَٱلَّذِینَ یُصَدِّقُونَ بِیَوۡمِ ٱلدِّینِ ٢٦
wa-alladhīna yuṣaddiqūna biyawmi l-dīn
who believe in the Day of Judgemen
27
وَٱلَّذِینَ هُم مِّنۡ عَذَابِ رَبِّهِم مُّشۡفِقُونَ ٢٧
wa-alladhīna hum min ʿadhābi rabbihim mush'fiqūn
and fear the punishment of their Lord––
28
إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّهِمۡ غَیۡرُ مَأۡمُونࣲ ٢٨
inna ʿadhāba rabbihim ghayru mamūni
none may feel wholly secure from it––
29
وَٱلَّذِینَ هُمۡ لِفُرُوجِهِمۡ حَـٰفِظُونَ ٢٩
wa-alladhīna hum lifurūjihim ḥāfiẓūn
who guard their chastit
30
إِلَّا عَلَىٰۤ أَزۡوَ ٰجِهِمۡ أَوۡ مَا مَلَكَتۡ أَیۡمَـٰنُهُمۡ فَإِنَّهُمۡ غَیۡرُ مَلُومِینَ ٣٠
illā ʿalā azwājihim aw mā malakat aymānuhum fa-innahum ghayru malūmīn
from all but their spouses or their slave-girls––there is no blame attached to [relations with] these
31
فَمَنِ ٱبۡتَغَىٰ وَرَاۤءَ ذَ ٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ ٱلۡعَادُونَ ٣١
famani ib'taghā warāa dhālika fa-ulāika humu l-ʿādūn
but those whose desires exceed this limit are truly transgressors––
32
وَٱلَّذِینَ هُمۡ لِأَمَـٰنَـٰتِهِمۡ وَعَهۡدِهِمۡ رَ ٰعُونَ ٣٢
wa-alladhīna hum li-amānātihim waʿahdihim rāʿūn
who are faithful to their trusts and their pledges
33
وَٱلَّذِینَ هُم بِشَهَـٰدَ ٰتِهِمۡ قَاۤىِٕمُونَ ٣٣
wa-alladhīna hum bishahādātihim qāimūn
who give honest testimon
