أَوَ لَمۡ یَتَفَكَّرُوا۟ فِیۤ أَنفُسِهِمۗ مَّا خَلَقَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَیۡنَهُمَاۤ إِلَّا بِٱلۡحَقِّ وَأَجَلࣲ مُّسَمࣰّىۗ وَإِنَّ كَثِیرࣰا مِّنَ ٱلنَّاسِ بِلِقَاۤىِٕ رَبِّهِمۡ لَكَـٰفِرُونَ ۝٨

Linda "iLham" Barto

Do (the unbelievers) not ponder in their own minds? Only for good cause and for a determined time did Allah create the skies and the earth and all among them. Yet, certainly there are many among people who deny their meeting with their Lord.

awalam yatafakkarū fī anfusihim mā khalaqa l-lahu l-samāwāti wal-arḍa wamā baynahumā illā bil-ḥaqi wa-ajalin musamman wa-inna kathīran mina l-nāsi biliqāi rabbihim lakāfirūn

30:9

أَوَ لَمۡ یَسِیرُوا۟ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَیَنظُرُوا۟ كَیۡفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِینَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡۚ كَانُوۤا۟ أَشَدَّ مِنۡهُمۡ قُوَّةࣰ وَأَثَارُوا۟ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَعَمَرُوهَاۤ أَكۡثَرَ مِمَّا عَمَرُوهَا وَجَاۤءَتۡهُمۡ رُسُلُهُم بِٱلۡبَیِّنَـٰتِۖ فَمَا كَانَ ٱللَّهُ لِیَظۡلِمَهُمۡ وَلَـٰكِن كَانُوۤا۟ أَنفُسَهُمۡ یَظۡلِمُونَ ۝٩

Linda "iLham" Barto

Do they not travel throughout the earth and see what was the end of those before them? They were superior to them in strength, they tilled the soil. They populated in greater numbers than these [unbelievers] have done. Their messengers came to them with evidence, which they rejected. Allah did not wrong them, but they wronged their own souls.

awalam yasīrū fī l-arḍi fayanẓurū kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu alladhīna min qablihim kānū ashadda min'hum quwwatan wa-athārū l-arḍa waʿamarūhā akthara mimmā ʿamarūhā wajāathum rusuluhum bil-bayināti famā kāna l-lahu liyaẓlimahum walākin kānū anfusahum yaẓlimūn

30:10

ثُمَّ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةَ ٱلَّذِینَ أَسَـٰۤءُوا۟ ٱلسُّوۤأَىٰۤ أَن كَذَّبُوا۟ بِءَایَـٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَكَانُوا۟ بِهَا یَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ ۝١٠

Linda "iLham" Barto

In the long run, evil in the extreme will be the end of those who do evil, because they rejected the signs of Allah and displayed them for ridicule.

thumma kāna ʿāqibata alladhīna asāū l-sūā an kadhabū biāyāti l-lahi wakānū bihā yastahziūn

30:11

ٱللَّهُ یَبۡدَؤُا۟ ٱلۡخَلۡقَ ثُمَّ یُعِیدُهُۥ ثُمَّ إِلَیۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ ۝١١

Linda "iLham" Barto

Allah alone begins creation and then repeats it. You shall then be returned to Him.

al-lahu yabda-u l-khalqa thumma yuʿīduhu thumma ilayhi tur'jaʿūn

30:12

وَیَوۡمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ یُبۡلِسُ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ ۝١٢

Linda "iLham" Barto

On the day that the hour [of judgment] happens, the guilty will be dumbstruck with despair.

wayawma taqūmu l-sāʿatu yub'lisu l-muj'rimūn

30:13

وَلَمۡ یَكُن لَّهُم مِّن شُرَكَاۤىِٕهِمۡ شُفَعَـٰۤؤُا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ بِشُرَكَاۤىِٕهِمۡ كَـٰفِرِینَ ۝١٣

Linda "iLham" Barto

No intercessor will be among their partners, and they will reject their partners.

walam yakun lahum min shurakāihim shufaʿāu wakānū bishurakāihim kāfirīn

30:14

وَیَوۡمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ یَتَفَرَّقُونَ ۝١٤

Linda "iLham" Barto

On the day that the hour happens, people will be divided.

wayawma taqūmu l-sāʿatu yawma-idhin yatafarraqūn

30:15

فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ فَهُمۡ فِی رَوۡضَةࣲ یُحۡبَرُونَ ۝١٥

Linda "iLham" Barto

Those who have believed and lived righteously will be in a state of delight.

fa-ammā alladhīna āmanū waʿamilū l-ṣāliḥāti fahum fī rawḍatin yuḥ'barūn

30:16

وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ وَكَذَّبُوا۟ بِءَایَـٰتِنَا وَلِقَاۤىِٕ ٱلۡءَاخِرَةِ فَأُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ فِی ٱلۡعَذَابِ مُحۡضَرُونَ ۝١٦

Linda "iLham" Barto

Those who have rejected faith and denied Our signs and the meeting of the hereafter will be brought to the punishment.

wa-ammā alladhīna kafarū wakadhabū biāyātinā waliqāi l-ākhirati fa-ulāika fī l-ʿadhābi muḥ'ḍarūn

30:17

فَسُبۡحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ حِینَ تُمۡسُونَ وَحِینَ تُصۡبِحُونَ ۝١٧

Linda "iLham" Barto

So glorify Allah at twilight and when you rise in the morning.

fasub'ḥāna l-lahi ḥīna tum'sūna waḥīna tuṣ'biḥūn

30:18

وَلَهُ ٱلۡحَمۡدُ فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَعَشِیࣰّا وَحِینَ تُظۡهِرُونَ ۝١٨

Linda "iLham" Barto

Yes, to Him be praise in Heaven and on Earth, in evening and noon.

walahu l-ḥamdu fī l-samāwāti wal-arḍi waʿashiyyan waḥīna tuẓ'hirūn

30:19

یُخۡرِجُ ٱلۡحَیَّ مِنَ ٱلۡمَیِّتِ وَیُخۡرِجُ ٱلۡمَیِّتَ مِنَ ٱلۡحَیِّ وَیُحۡیِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِهَاۚ وَكَذَ ٰلِكَ تُخۡرَجُونَ ۝١٩

Linda "iLham" Barto

He brings the living from the dead and the dead from the living. He gives life to the earth after it appears dead; thus, you shall be brought.

yukh'riju l-ḥaya mina l-mayiti wayukh'riju l-mayita mina l-ḥayi wayuḥ'yī l-arḍa baʿda mawtihā wakadhālika tukh'rajūn

30:20

وَمِنۡ ءَایَـٰتِهِۦۤ أَنۡ خَلَقَكُم مِّن تُرَابࣲ ثُمَّ إِذَاۤ أَنتُم بَشَرࣱ تَنتَشِرُونَ ۝٢٠

Linda "iLham" Barto

Among His signs is that He created you from dust, and then, behold, you were human beings, dispersed.

wamin āyātihi an khalaqakum min turābin thumma idhā antum basharun tantashirūn

30:21

وَمِنۡ ءَایَـٰتِهِۦۤ أَنۡ خَلَقَ لَكُم مِّنۡ أَنفُسِكُمۡ أَزۡوَ ٰجࣰا لِّتَسۡكُنُوۤا۟ إِلَیۡهَا وَجَعَلَ بَیۡنَكُم مَّوَدَّةࣰ وَرَحۡمَةًۚ إِنَّ فِی ذَ ٰلِكَ لَءَایَـٰتࣲ لِّقَوۡمࣲ یَتَفَكَّرُونَ ۝٢١

Linda "iLham" Barto

Among His signs is that He created for you mates from among yourselves so that you may dwell in tranquility with them, and He has put love and mercy among you. Truly, in this are signs for people who ponder.

wamin āyātihi an khalaqa lakum min anfusikum azwājan litaskunū ilayhā wajaʿala baynakum mawaddatan waraḥmatan inna fī dhālika laāyātin liqawmin yatafakkarūn

30:22

وَمِنۡ ءَایَـٰتِهِۦ خَلۡقُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَٱخۡتِلَـٰفُ أَلۡسِنَتِكُمۡ وَأَلۡوَ ٰنِكُمۡۚ إِنَّ فِی ذَ ٰلِكَ لَءَایَـٰتࣲ لِّلۡعَـٰلِمِینَ ۝٢٢

Linda "iLham" Barto

Among His signs are the creation of the skies and Earth, and the variations in your languages and your [skin] colors. Truly, in these are signs for those of knowledge.

wamin āyātihi khalqu l-samāwāti wal-arḍi wa-ikh'tilāfu alsinatikum wa-alwānikum inna fī dhālika laāyātin lil'ʿālimīn

30:23

وَمِنۡ ءَایَـٰتِهِۦ مَنَامُكُم بِٱلَّیۡلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ وَٱبۡتِغَاۤؤُكُم مِّن فَضۡلِهِۦۤۚ إِنَّ فِی ذَ ٰلِكَ لَءَایَـٰتࣲ لِّقَوۡمࣲ یَسۡمَعُونَ ۝٢٣

Linda "iLham" Barto

Among His signs are your sleep night or day and your pursuit of His bounty. Truly, in these are signs for people who listen.

wamin āyātihi manāmukum bi-al-layli wal-nahāri wa-ib'tighāukum min faḍlihi inna fī dhālika laāyātin liqawmin yasmaʿūn

30:24

وَمِنۡ ءَایَـٰتِهِۦ یُرِیكُمُ ٱلۡبَرۡقَ خَوۡفࣰا وَطَمَعࣰا وَیُنَزِّلُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ مَاۤءࣰ فَیُحۡیِۦ بِهِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِهَاۤۚ إِنَّ فِی ذَ ٰلِكَ لَءَایَـٰتࣲ لِّقَوۡمࣲ یَعۡقِلُونَ ۝٢٤

Linda "iLham" Barto

Among His signs is that He shows you the lightning which invokes fear [for the destruction it may bring] and hope [for the rain it may bring]. He sends down rain from the sky. With it, He gives life to a dead earth. Truly, in these are signs for people who are wise.

wamin āyātihi yurīkumu l-barqa khawfan waṭamaʿan wayunazzilu mina l-samāi māan fayuḥ'yī bihi l-arḍa baʿda mawtihā inna fī dhālika laāyātin liqawmin yaʿqilūn

30:25

وَمِنۡ ءَایَـٰتِهِۦۤ أَن تَقُومَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءُ وَٱلۡأَرۡضُ بِأَمۡرِهِۦۚ ثُمَّ إِذَا دَعَاكُمۡ دَعۡوَةࣰ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ إِذَاۤ أَنتُمۡ تَخۡرُجُونَ ۝٢٥

Linda "iLham" Barto

Among His signs are that Heaven and Earth stand by His command and that when He calls you by a single call, behold, you will emerge from the earth.

wamin āyātihi an taqūma l-samāu wal-arḍu bi-amrihi thumma idhā daʿākum daʿwatan mina l-arḍi idhā antum takhrujūn

30:26

وَلَهُۥ مَن فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ كُلࣱّ لَّهُۥ قَـٰنِتُونَ ۝٢٦

Linda "iLham" Barto

To Him belongs every being in Heaven and on Earth; all are devoutly obedient to Him.

walahu man fī l-samāwāti wal-arḍi kullun lahu qānitūn

30:27

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِی یَبۡدَؤُا۟ ٱلۡخَلۡقَ ثُمَّ یُعِیدُهُۥ وَهُوَ أَهۡوَنُ عَلَیۡهِۚ وَلَهُ ٱلۡمَثَلُ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰ فِی ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِیزُ ٱلۡحَكِیمُ ۝٢٧

Linda "iLham" Barto

He is the One who begins creation and then repeats it, and for Him that is quite easy. For Him are the most meritorious similes in Heaven and on Earth, for He is the Victorious, the Perfectly Wise.

wahuwa alladhī yabda-u l-khalqa thumma yuʿīduhu wahuwa ahwanu ʿalayhi walahu l-mathalu l-aʿlā fī l-samāwāti wal-arḍi wahuwa l-ʿazīzu l-ḥakīm

30:28

ضَرَبَ لَكُم مَّثَلࣰا مِّنۡ أَنفُسِكُمۡۖ هَل لَّكُم مِّن مَّا مَلَكَتۡ أَیۡمَـٰنُكُم مِّن شُرَكَاۤءَ فِی مَا رَزَقۡنَـٰكُمۡ فَأَنتُمۡ فِیهِ سَوَاۤءࣱ تَخَافُونَهُمۡ كَخِیفَتِكُمۡ أَنفُسَكُمۡۚ كَذَ ٰلِكَ نُفَصِّلُ ٱلۡءَایَـٰتِ لِقَوۡمࣲ یَعۡقِلُونَ ۝٢٨

Linda "iLham" Barto

He offers you an example from your own life: Do you have partners from among your servants with whom you share equally from the wealth We have given you? Do you fear them as you fear others [in your position]? [How then can people equate things of creation with the Creator?] Thus do We explain the verses in detail to people using reasoning skills.

ḍaraba lakum mathalan min anfusikum hal lakum min mā malakat aymānukum min shurakāa fī mā razaqnākum fa-antum fīhi sawāon takhāfūnahum kakhīfatikum anfusakum kadhālika nufaṣṣilu l-āyāti liqawmin yaʿqilūn

30:29

بَلِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلَّذِینَ ظَلَمُوۤا۟ أَهۡوَاۤءَهُم بِغَیۡرِ عِلۡمࣲۖ فَمَن یَهۡدِی مَنۡ أَضَلَّ ٱللَّهُۖ وَمَا لَهُم مِّن نَّـٰصِرِینَ ۝٢٩

Linda "iLham" Barto

The sinners, however, follow their own desires, being void of knowledge. Who can guide those whom Allah leaves astray? For them there are no aids.

bali ittabaʿa alladhīna ẓalamū ahwāahum bighayri ʿil'min faman yahdī man aḍalla l-lahu wamā lahum min nāṣirīn

30:30

فَأَقِمۡ وَجۡهَكَ لِلدِّینِ حَنِیفࣰاۚ فِطۡرَتَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّتِی فَطَرَ ٱلنَّاسَ عَلَیۡهَاۚ لَا تَبۡدِیلَ لِخَلۡقِ ٱللَّهِۚ ذَ ٰلِكَ ٱلدِّینُ ٱلۡقَیِّمُ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَ ٱلنَّاسِ لَا یَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٣٠

Linda "iLham" Barto

So lift your face sincerely to the faith, which is natural according to how Allah made humanity. No change [should be] in the design of Allah. That is the correct religion, but most people do not understand.

fa-aqim wajhaka lilddīni ḥanīfan fiṭ'rata l-lahi allatī faṭara l-nāsa ʿalayhā lā tabdīla likhalqi l-lahi dhālika l-dīnu l-qayimu walākinna akthara l-nāsi lā yaʿlamūn

30:31

۞ مُنِیبِینَ إِلَیۡهِ وَٱتَّقُوهُ وَأَقِیمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلۡمُشۡرِكِینَ ۝٣١

Linda "iLham" Barto

Repent to Him, fear Him, establish routine prayers, and do not be among the polytheists.

munībīna ilayhi wa-ittaqūhu wa-aqīmū l-ṣalata walā takūnū mina l-mush'rikīn

30:32

مِنَ ٱلَّذِینَ فَرَّقُوا۟ دِینَهُمۡ وَكَانُوا۟ شِیَعࣰاۖ كُلُّ حِزۡبِۭ بِمَا لَدَیۡهِمۡ فَرِحُونَ ۝٣٢

Linda "iLham" Barto

[Do not be among] those who fragment their religion so that each sect rejoices with its own doctrine.

mina alladhīna farraqū dīnahum wakānū shiyaʿan kullu ḥiz'bin bimā ladayhim fariḥūn

30:33

وَإِذَا مَسَّ ٱلنَّاسَ ضُرࣱّ دَعَوۡا۟ رَبَّهُم مُّنِیبِینَ إِلَیۡهِ ثُمَّ إِذَاۤ أَذَاقَهُم مِّنۡهُ رَحۡمَةً إِذَا فَرِیقࣱ مِّنۡهُم بِرَبِّهِمۡ یُشۡرِكُونَ ۝٣٣

Linda "iLham" Barto

When trouble comes to people, they cry to their Lord and turn to Him. When He gives them a taste of mercy from Himself, some of them credit other gods with their Lord.

wa-idhā massa l-nāsa ḍurrun daʿaw rabbahum munībīna ilayhi thumma idhā adhāqahum min'hu raḥmatan idhā farīqun min'hum birabbihim yush'rikūn

30:34

لِیَكۡفُرُوا۟ بِمَاۤ ءَاتَیۡنَـٰهُمۡۚ فَتَمَتَّعُوا۟ فَسَوۡفَ تَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٣٤

Linda "iLham" Barto

[This] shows their ingratitude for what We have bestowed on them. Enjoy! Soon, however, you will come to realization.

liyakfurū bimā ātaynāhum fatamattaʿū fasawfa taʿlamūn

30:35

أَمۡ أَنزَلۡنَا عَلَیۡهِمۡ سُلۡطَـٰنࣰا فَهُوَ یَتَكَلَّمُ بِمَا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ یُشۡرِكُونَ ۝٣٥

Linda "iLham" Barto

Or have We sent down authority to them that shows them what to credit with Him?

am anzalnā ʿalayhim sul'ṭānan fahuwa yatakallamu bimā kānū bihi yush'rikūn

30:36

وَإِذَاۤ أَذَقۡنَا ٱلنَّاسَ رَحۡمَةࣰ فَرِحُوا۟ بِهَاۖ وَإِن تُصِبۡهُمۡ سَیِّئَةُۢ بِمَا قَدَّمَتۡ أَیۡدِیهِمۡ إِذَا هُمۡ یَقۡنَطُونَ ۝٣٦

Linda "iLham" Barto

When We give people a taste of mercy, they rejoice in it. When some tragedy afflicts them as a result of their own actions, they are in despair.

wa-idhā adhaqnā l-nāsa raḥmatan fariḥū bihā wa-in tuṣib'hum sayyi-atun bimā qaddamat aydīhim idhā hum yaqnaṭūn

30:37

أَوَ لَمۡ یَرَوۡا۟ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ یَبۡسُطُ ٱلرِّزۡقَ لِمَن یَشَاۤءُ وَیَقۡدِرُۚ إِنَّ فِی ذَ ٰلِكَ لَءَایَـٰتࣲ لِّقَوۡمࣲ یُؤۡمِنُونَ ۝٣٧

Linda "iLham" Barto

Do they not see that Allah enlarges or restricts the provision to whomever He pleases? Truly, in that are signs for those who believe.

awalam yaraw anna l-laha yabsuṭu l-riz'qa liman yashāu wayaqdiru inna fī dhālika laāyātin liqawmin yu'minūn

30:38

فَءَاتِ ذَا ٱلۡقُرۡبَىٰ حَقَّهُۥ وَٱلۡمِسۡكِینَ وَٱبۡنَ ٱلسَّبِیلِۚ ذَ ٰلِكَ خَیۡرࣱ لِّلَّذِینَ یُرِیدُونَ وَجۡهَ ٱللَّهِۖ وَأُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ ٱلۡمُفۡلِحُونَ ۝٣٨

Linda "iLham" Barto

Give what is due to relatives, the needy, and the traveler. That is best for those who seek the countenance of Allah. It is they who will prosper.

faāti dhā l-qur'bā ḥaqqahu wal-mis'kīna wa-ib'na l-sabīli dhālika khayrun lilladhīna yurīdūna wajha l-lahi wa-ulāika humu l-muf'liḥūn

30:39

وَمَاۤ ءَاتَیۡتُم مِّن رِّبࣰا لِّیَرۡبُوَا۟ فِیۤ أَمۡوَ ٰلِ ٱلنَّاسِ فَلَا یَرۡبُوا۟ عِندَ ٱللَّهِۖ وَمَاۤ ءَاتَیۡتُم مِّن زَكَوٰةࣲ تُرِیدُونَ وَجۡهَ ٱللَّهِ فَأُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ ٱلۡمُضۡعِفُونَ ۝٣٩

Linda "iLham" Barto

What you give in usury to increase other people’s wealth will have no profit with Allah. That which you give for required charity, seeking the countenance of Allah, will grant you a multiplied benefit.

wamā ātaytum min riban liyarbuwā fī amwāli l-nāsi falā yarbū ʿinda l-lahi wamā ātaytum min zakatin turīdūna wajha l-lahi fa-ulāika humu l-muḍ'ʿifūn

30:40

ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِی خَلَقَكُمۡ ثُمَّ رَزَقَكُمۡ ثُمَّ یُمِیتُكُمۡ ثُمَّ یُحۡیِیكُمۡۖ هَلۡ مِن شُرَكَاۤىِٕكُم مَّن یَفۡعَلُ مِن ذَ ٰلِكُم مِّن شَیۡءࣲۚ سُبۡحَـٰنَهُۥ وَتَعَـٰلَىٰ عَمَّا یُشۡرِكُونَ ۝٤٠

Linda "iLham" Barto

It is Allah who has created you, and He has provided for your sustenance. He will cause you to die, and again He will give you life. Can any of your partners do a single one of those things? Glory to Him! He is above the partners they attribute.

al-lahu alladhī khalaqakum thumma razaqakum thumma yumītukum thumma yuḥ'yīkum hal min shurakāikum man yafʿalu min dhālikum min shayin sub'ḥānahu wataʿālā ʿammā yush'rikūn

30:41

ظَهَرَ ٱلۡفَسَادُ فِی ٱلۡبَرِّ وَٱلۡبَحۡرِ بِمَا كَسَبَتۡ أَیۡدِی ٱلنَّاسِ لِیُذِیقَهُم بَعۡضَ ٱلَّذِی عَمِلُوا۟ لَعَلَّهُمۡ یَرۡجِعُونَ ۝٤١

Linda "iLham" Barto

Corruption has appeared on land and sea because of what people have wrought with their hands. [This is so] that (Allah) may give them a taste of some of their deeds so that they may return [to Him].

ẓahara l-fasādu fī l-bari wal-baḥri bimā kasabat aydī l-nāsi liyudhīqahum baʿḍa alladhī ʿamilū laʿallahum yarjiʿūn

30:42

قُلۡ سِیرُوا۟ فِی ٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَٱنظُرُوا۟ كَیۡفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلَّذِینَ مِن قَبۡلُۚ كَانَ أَكۡثَرُهُم مُّشۡرِكِینَ ۝٤٢

Linda "iLham" Barto

Say, “Travel across the land and see what happened to those before you. Most of them worshiped others besides Allah.”

qul sīrū fī l-arḍi fa-unẓurū kayfa kāna ʿāqibatu alladhīna min qablu kāna aktharuhum mush'rikīn

30:43

فَأَقِمۡ وَجۡهَكَ لِلدِّینِ ٱلۡقَیِّمِ مِن قَبۡلِ أَن یَأۡتِیَ یَوۡمࣱ لَّا مَرَدَّ لَهُۥ مِنَ ٱللَّهِۖ یَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ یَصَّدَّعُونَ ۝٤٣

Linda "iLham" Barto

Set your face toward the true religion before Allah sends the day from which there is no chance of escape. On that day, people will be divided.

fa-aqim wajhaka lilddīni l-qayimi min qabli an yatiya yawmun lā maradda lahu mina l-lahi yawma-idhin yaṣṣaddaʿūn

30:44

مَن كَفَرَ فَعَلَیۡهِ كُفۡرُهُۥۖ وَمَنۡ عَمِلَ صَـٰلِحࣰا فَلِأَنفُسِهِمۡ یَمۡهَدُونَ ۝٤٤

Linda "iLham" Barto

Those who reject faith will suffer from that rejection. Those who live righteously are preparing for themselves [for a blessed life in the hereafter].

man kafara faʿalayhi kuf'ruhu waman ʿamila ṣāliḥan fali-anfusihim yamhadūn

30:45

لِیَجۡزِیَ ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦۤۚ إِنَّهُۥ لَا یُحِبُّ ٱلۡكَـٰفِرِینَ ۝٤٥

Linda "iLham" Barto

This is so He may, from His bounty, reward those who believe and live righteously. Indeed, He does not love the unbelievers.

liyajziya alladhīna āmanū waʿamilū l-ṣāliḥāti min faḍlihi innahu lā yuḥibbu l-kāfirīn

30:46

وَمِنۡ ءَایَـٰتِهِۦۤ أَن یُرۡسِلَ ٱلرِّیَاحَ مُبَشِّرَ ٰتࣲ وَلِیُذِیقَكُم مِّن رَّحۡمَتِهِۦ وَلِتَجۡرِیَ ٱلۡفُلۡكُ بِأَمۡرِهِۦ وَلِتَبۡتَغُوا۟ مِن فَضۡلِهِۦ وَلَعَلَّكُمۡ تَشۡكُرُونَ ۝٤٦

Linda "iLham" Barto

Among His signs is that He sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings. They give you a taste of His mercy so that ships may sail by His command and you may seek His bounty so you may be grateful.

wamin āyātihi an yur'sila l-riyāḥa mubashirātin waliyudhīqakum min raḥmatihi walitajriya l-ful'ku bi-amrihi walitabtaghū min faḍlihi walaʿallakum tashkurūn

30:47

وَلَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ رُسُلًا إِلَىٰ قَوۡمِهِمۡ فَجَاۤءُوهُم بِٱلۡبَیِّنَـٰتِ فَٱنتَقَمۡنَا مِنَ ٱلَّذِینَ أَجۡرَمُوا۟ۖ وَكَانَ حَقًّا عَلَیۡنَا نَصۡرُ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِینَ ۝٤٧

Linda "iLham" Barto

Indeed, before you [Muhammed], We sent messengers to their peoples. They came to them with clear signs. To those who continued to sin, We handed out punishment. It was Our will to help the believers.

walaqad arsalnā min qablika rusulan ilā qawmihim fajāūhum bil-bayināti fa-intaqamnā mina alladhīna ajramū wakāna ḥaqqan ʿalaynā naṣru l-mu'minīn

30:48

ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِی یُرۡسِلُ ٱلرِّیَـٰحَ فَتُثِیرُ سَحَابࣰا فَیَبۡسُطُهُۥ فِی ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ كَیۡفَ یَشَاۤءُ وَیَجۡعَلُهُۥ كِسَفࣰا فَتَرَى ٱلۡوَدۡقَ یَخۡرُجُ مِنۡ خِلَـٰلِهِۦۖ فَإِذَاۤ أَصَابَ بِهِۦ مَن یَشَاۤءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِهِۦۤ إِذَا هُمۡ یَسۡتَبۡشِرُونَ ۝٤٨

Linda "iLham" Barto

Allah sends the winds, and they raise the clouds. He spreads them in the sky as He wills. He breaks them into fragments until you see raindrops coming from their midst. When He has caused (the raindrops) to reach as many of His servants as He will, (the servants) rejoice.

al-lahu alladhī yur'silu l-riyāḥa fatuthīru saḥāban fayabsuṭuhu fī l-samāi kayfa yashāu wayajʿaluhu kisafan fatarā l-wadqa yakhruju min khilālihi fa-idhā aṣāba bihi man yashāu min ʿibādihi idhā hum yastabshirūn

30:49

وَإِن كَانُوا۟ مِن قَبۡلِ أَن یُنَزَّلَ عَلَیۡهِم مِّن قَبۡلِهِۦ لَمُبۡلِسِینَ ۝٤٩

Linda "iLham" Barto

Just before receiving the rain, however, they were surely in despair.

wa-in kānū min qabli an yunazzala ʿalayhim min qablihi lamub'lisīn

30:50

فَٱنظُرۡ إِلَىٰۤ ءَاثَـٰرِ رَحۡمَتِ ٱللَّهِ كَیۡفَ یُحۡیِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِهَاۤۚ إِنَّ ذَ ٰلِكَ لَمُحۡیِ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰۖ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَیۡءࣲ قَدِیرࣱ ۝٥٠

Linda "iLham" Barto

Think about the effects of Allah’s mercy. [Think about] how He gives life to a dead earth. Truly, He will give life to dead people. He is Most Capable over all things.

fa-unẓur ilā āthāri raḥmati l-lahi kayfa yuḥ'yī l-arḍa baʿda mawtihā inna dhālika lamuḥ'yī l-mawtā wahuwa ʿalā kulli shayin qadīru

30:51

وَلَىِٕنۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا رِیحࣰا فَرَأَوۡهُ مُصۡفَرࣰّا لَّظَلُّوا۟ مِنۢ بَعۡدِهِۦ یَكۡفُرُونَ ۝٥١

Linda "iLham" Barto

If We send a wind that yellows [their crops], they become ungrateful.

wala-in arsalnā rīḥan fara-awhu muṣ'farran laẓallū min baʿdihi yakfurūn

30:52

فَإِنَّكَ لَا تُسۡمِعُ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ وَلَا تُسۡمِعُ ٱلصُّمَّ ٱلدُّعَاۤءَ إِذَا وَلَّوۡا۟ مُدۡبِرِینَ ۝٥٢

Linda "iLham" Barto

Truly, you cannot make the dead to hear. You cannot make the unhearing to hear the call when they turn and retreat.

fa-innaka lā tus'miʿu l-mawtā walā tus'miʿu l-ṣuma l-duʿāa idhā wallaw mud'birīn

30:53

وَمَاۤ أَنتَ بِهَـٰدِ ٱلۡعُمۡیِ عَن ضَلَـٰلَتِهِمۡۖ إِن تُسۡمِعُ إِلَّا مَن یُؤۡمِنُ بِءَایَـٰتِنَا فَهُم مُّسۡلِمُونَ ۝٥٣

Linda "iLham" Barto

You cannot lead the unseeing back from their straying. The only ones you can cause to hear are those who believe in Our signs and submit.

wamā anta bihādi l-ʿum'yi ʿan ḍalālatihim in tus'miʿu illā man yu'minu biāyātinā fahum mus'limūn

30:54

۞ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِی خَلَقَكُم مِّن ضَعۡفࣲ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ ضَعۡفࣲ قُوَّةࣰ ثُمَّ جَعَلَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ قُوَّةࣲ ضَعۡفࣰا وَشَیۡبَةࣰۚ یَخۡلُقُ مَا یَشَاۤءُۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَلِیمُ ٱلۡقَدِیرُ ۝٥٤

Linda "iLham" Barto

Allah created you in a state of weakness, and then gave strength after weakness. After strength, he gave weakness and gray hair. He creates as He wills. He is the All-knowing, the Most Capable.

al-lahu alladhī khalaqakum min ḍaʿfin thumma jaʿala min baʿdi ḍaʿfin quwwatan thumma jaʿala min baʿdi quwwatin ḍaʿfan washaybatan yakhluqu mā yashāu wahuwa l-ʿalīmu l-qadīr

30:55

وَیَوۡمَ تَقُومُ ٱلسَّاعَةُ یُقۡسِمُ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ مَا لَبِثُوا۟ غَیۡرَ سَاعَةࣲۚ كَذَ ٰلِكَ كَانُوا۟ یُؤۡفَكُونَ ۝٥٥

Linda "iLham" Barto

On the day the hour will be established, the sinners will swear that they tarried [in death] only an hour. They were so deluded!

wayawma taqūmu l-sāʿatu yuq'simu l-muj'rimūna mā labithū ghayra sāʿatin kadhālika kānū yu'fakūn

30:56

وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِینَ أُوتُوا۟ ٱلۡعِلۡمَ وَٱلۡإِیمَـٰنَ لَقَدۡ لَبِثۡتُمۡ فِی كِتَـٰبِ ٱللَّهِ إِلَىٰ یَوۡمِ ٱلۡبَعۡثِۖ فَهَـٰذَا یَوۡمُ ٱلۡبَعۡثِ وَلَـٰكِنَّكُمۡ كُنتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٥٦

Linda "iLham" Barto

Those with knowledge and faith, however, will say, “Indeed, you tarried, by Allah’s decree, till the Day of Resurrection, and this is the Day of Resurrection. You were unaware, however.”

waqāla alladhīna ūtū l-ʿil'ma wal-īmāna laqad labith'tum fī kitābi l-lahi ilā yawmi l-baʿthi fahādhā yawmu l-baʿthi walākinnakum kuntum lā taʿlamūn

30:57

فَیَوۡمَىِٕذࣲ لَّا یَنفَعُ ٱلَّذِینَ ظَلَمُوا۟ مَعۡذِرَتُهُمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ یُسۡتَعۡتَبُونَ ۝٥٧

Linda "iLham" Barto

On that day, their excuses will not help the sinners, and they will not be invited to seek grace.

fayawma-idhin lā yanfaʿu alladhīna ẓalamū maʿdhiratuhum walā hum yus'taʿtabūn

30:58

وَلَقَدۡ ضَرَبۡنَا لِلنَّاسِ فِی هَـٰذَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ مِن كُلِّ مَثَلࣲۚ وَلَىِٕن جِئۡتَهُم بِءَایَةࣲ لَّیَقُولَنَّ ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوۤا۟ إِنۡ أَنتُمۡ إِلَّا مُبۡطِلُونَ ۝٥٨

Linda "iLham" Barto

Truly, We have explained for people, in this Qur’an, every kind of parable. If you bring to them any sign, the unbelievers are sure to say, “You do nothing but talk nonsense.”

walaqad ḍarabnā lilnnāsi fī hādhā l-qur'āni min kulli mathalin wala-in ji'tahum biāyatin layaqūlanna alladhīna kafarū in antum illā mub'ṭilūn

30:59

كَذَ ٰلِكَ یَطۡبَعُ ٱللَّهُ عَلَىٰ قُلُوبِ ٱلَّذِینَ لَا یَعۡلَمُونَ ۝٥٩

Linda "iLham" Barto

That is how Allah seals the hearts of those without wisdom.

kadhālika yaṭbaʿu l-lahu ʿalā qulūbi alladhīna lā yaʿlamūn

30:60

فَٱصۡبِرۡ إِنَّ وَعۡدَ ٱللَّهِ حَقࣱّۖ وَلَا یَسۡتَخِفَّنَّكَ ٱلَّذِینَ لَا یُوقِنُونَ ۝٦٠

Linda "iLham" Barto

Persevere with patience. Truly the promise of Allah is true. Do not let your faith be shaken by those who have no faith.

fa-iṣ'bir inna waʿda l-lahi ḥaqqun walā yastakhiffannaka alladhīna lā yūqinūn
