1 The Night

وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَىٰ

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

By the night when it covers

Waallayli itha yaghsha

وَالنَّهَارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّىٰ

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

And the day when it appears

Waalnnahari itha tajalla

وَمَا خَلَقَ الذَّكَرَ وَالْأُنثَىٰ

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

And He created the male and female

Wama khalaqa alththakara waal-ontha

إِنَّ سَعْيَكُمْ لَشَتَّىٰ

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

Your works are various

Inna saAAyakum lashatta

فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَىٰ وَاتَّقَىٰ

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

As for he who gives and is righteous

Faamma man aAAta waittaqa

وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنَىٰ

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

And trusts in goodness

Wasaddaqa bialhusna

فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْيُسْرَىٰ

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

We will make the easy path for him

Fasanuyassiruhu lilyusra

وَأَمَّا مَن بَخِلَ وَاسْتَغْنَىٰ

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

And as for he who is stingy and holds back

Waamma man bakhila waistaghna

وَكَذَّبَ بِالْحُسْنَىٰ

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

And denies goodness

Wakaththaba bialhusna

فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْعُسْرَىٰ

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

We will make the difficult path for him

Fasanuyassiruhu lilAAusra

وَمَا يُغْنِي عَنْهُ مَالُهُ إِذَا تَرَدَّىٰ

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

And his wealth will not avail him when he demises

Wama yughnee AAanhu maluhu itha taradda

إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا لَلْهُدَىٰ

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

It is upon Us to guide

Inna AAalayna lalhuda

وَإِنَّ لَنَا لَلْآخِرَةَ وَالْأُولَىٰ

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

And to Us is the end and the beginning

Wa-inna lana lal-akhirata waal-oola

فَأَنذَرْتُكُمْ نَارًا تَلَظَّىٰ

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

I have warned you of a Fire that blazes

Faanthartukum naran talaththa

لَا يَصْلَاهَا إِلَّا الْأَشْقَى

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

None shall reach it but the wicked

La yaslaha illa al-ashqa

الَّذِي كَذَّبَ وَتَوَلَّىٰ

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

The one who denies and turns away

Allathee kaththaba watawalla

وَسَيُجَنَّبُهَا الْأَتْقَى

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

As for the righteous, he will be spared it

Wasayujannabuha al-atqa

الَّذِي يُؤْتِي مَالَهُ يَتَزَكَّىٰ

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

The one who gives his money to develop with

Allathee yu/tee malahu yatazakka

وَمَا لِأَحَدٍ عِندَهُ مِن نِّعْمَةٍ تُجْزَىٰ

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

Seeking nothing in return

Wama li-ahadin AAindahu min niAAmatin tujza

إِلَّا ابْتِغَاءَ وَجْهِ رَبِّهِ الْأَعْلَىٰ

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

Except the face of His Lord, the Most High

Illa ibtighaa wajhi rabbihi al-aAAla

وَلَسَوْفَ يَرْضَىٰ

The Monotheist Group(2011 Edition)

And he will be satisfied

Walasawfa yarda
