مَّن كَانَ یُرِیدُ ٱلۡعَاجِلَةَ عَجَّلۡنَا لَهُۥ فِیهَا مَا نَشَاۤءُ لِمَن نُّرِیدُ ثُمَّ جَعَلۡنَا لَهُۥ جَهَنَّمَ یَصۡلَىٰهَا مَذۡمُومࣰا مَّدۡحُورࣰا ١٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Whoever should desire the immediate - We hasten for him from it what We will to whom We intend. Then We have made for him Hell, which he will [enter to] burn, censured and banished
Abdel Haleem:
If anyone desires [only] the fleeting life, We speed up whatever We will in it, for whoever We wish; in the end We have prepared Hell for him in which to burn, disgraced and rejected
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Whoso desireth that (life) which hasteneth away, We hasten for him therein what We will for whom We please. And afterward We have appointed for him hell; he will endure the heat thereof, condemned, rejected
لَّا تَجۡعَلۡ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَتَقۡعُدَ مَذۡمُومࣰا مَّخۡذُولࣰا ٢٢
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Do not make [as equal] with Allah another deity and [thereby] become censured and forsaken
Abdel Haleem:
Set up no other god beside God, or you will end up disgraced and forsaken
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Set not up with Allah any other god (O man) lest thou sit down reproved, forsaken
The Pen 68:49
Noun
لَّوۡلَاۤ أَن تَدَ ٰرَكَهُۥ نِعۡمَةࣱ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦ لَنُبِذَ بِٱلۡعَرَاۤءِ وَهُوَ مَذۡمُومࣱ ٤٩
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
If not that a favor from his Lord overtook him, he would have been thrown onto the naked shore while he was censured
Abdel Haleem:
if his Lord’s grace had not reached him, he would have been left, abandoned and blameworthy, on the barren shore
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Had it not been that favour from his Lord had reached him he surely had been cast into the wilderness while he was reprobate
Repentance 9:10
Noun
لَا یَرۡقُبُونَ فِی مُؤۡمِنٍ إِلࣰّا وَلَا ذِمَّةࣰۚ وَأُو۟لَـٰۤىِٕكَ هُمُ ٱلۡمُعۡتَدُونَ ١٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
They do not observe toward a believer any pact of kinship or covenant of protection. And it is they who are the transgressors
Abdel Haleem:
Where believers are concerned, they respect no tie of kinship or treaty. They are the ones who are committing aggression
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
And they observe toward a believer neither pact nor honour. These are they who are transgressors
Repentance 9:8
Noun
كَیۡفَ وَإِن یَظۡهَرُوا۟ عَلَیۡكُمۡ لَا یَرۡقُبُوا۟ فِیكُمۡ إِلࣰّا وَلَا ذِمَّةࣰۚ یُرۡضُونَكُم بِأَفۡوَ ٰهِهِمۡ وَتَأۡبَىٰ قُلُوبُهُمۡ وَأَكۡثَرُهُمۡ فَـٰسِقُونَ ٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
How [can there be a treaty] while, if they gain dominance over you, they do not observe concerning you any pact of kinship or covenant of protection? They satisfy you with their mouths, but their hearts refuse [compliance], and most of them are defiantly disobedient
Abdel Haleem:
[How,] when, if they were to get the upper hand over you, they would not respect any tie with you, of kinship or of treaty? They please you with their tongues, but their hearts are against you and most of them are lawbreakers
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
How (can there be any treaty for the others) when, if they have the upper hand of you, they regard not pact nor honour in respect of you? They satisfy you with their mouths the while their hearts refuse. And most of them are wrongdoers
