Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
It is He who shows you lightening, [causing] fear and aspiration, and generates the heavy clouds
Abdel Haleem:
It is He who shows you the lightning, inspiring fear and hope; He builds up the clouds heavy with rain
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
He it is Who showeth you the lightning, a fear and a hope, and raiseth the heavy clouds
The Light 24:40
Noun
أَوۡ كَظُلُمَـٰتࣲ فِی بَحۡرࣲ لُّجِّیࣲّ یَغۡشَىٰهُ مَوۡجࣱ مِّن فَوۡقِهِۦ مَوۡجࣱ مِّن فَوۡقِهِۦ سَحَابࣱۚ ظُلُمَـٰتُۢ بَعۡضُهَا فَوۡقَ بَعۡضٍ إِذَاۤ أَخۡرَجَ یَدَهُۥ لَمۡ یَكَدۡ یَرَىٰهَاۗ وَمَن لَّمۡ یَجۡعَلِ ٱللَّهُ لَهُۥ نُورࣰا فَمَا لَهُۥ مِن نُّورٍ ٤٠
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Or [they are] like darknesses within an unfathomable sea which is covered by waves, upon which are waves, over which are clouds - darknesses, some of them upon others. When one puts out his hand [therein], he can hardly see it. And he to whom Allah has not granted light - for him there is no light
Abdel Haleem:
Or like shadows in a deep sea covered by wave upon wave, with clouds above- layer upon layer of darkness- if he holds out his hand, he is scarcely able to see it. The one to whom God gives no light has no light at all
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Or as darkness on a vast, abysmal sea. There covereth him a wave, above which is a wave, above which is a cloud. Layer upon layer of darkness. When he holdeth out his hand he scarce can see it. And he for whom Allah hath not appointed light, for him there is no light
The Light 24:43

أَلَمۡ تَرَ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ یُزۡجِی سَحَابࣰا ثُمَّ یُؤَلِّفُ بَیۡنَهُۥ ثُمَّ یَجۡعَلُهُۥ رُكَامࣰا فَتَرَى ٱلۡوَدۡقَ یَخۡرُجُ مِنۡ خِلَـٰلِهِۦ وَیُنَزِّلُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ مِن جِبَالࣲ فِیهَا مِنۢ بَرَدࣲ فَیُصِیبُ بِهِۦ مَن یَشَاۤءُ وَیَصۡرِفُهُۥ عَن مَّن یَشَاۤءُۖ یَكَادُ سَنَا بَرۡقِهِۦ یَذۡهَبُ بِٱلۡأَبۡصَـٰرِ ٤٣
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Do you not see that Allah drives clouds? Then He brings them together, then He makes them into a mass, and you see the rain emerge from within it. And He sends down from the sky, mountains [of clouds] within which is hail, and He strikes with it whom He wills and averts it from whom He wills. The flash of its lightening almost takes away the eyesight
Abdel Haleem:
Do you not see that God drives the clouds, then gathers them together and piles them up until you see rain pour from their midst? He sends hail down from [such] mountains in the sky, pouring it on whoever He wishes and diverting it from whoever He wishes- the flash of its lightning almost snatches sight away
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Hast thou not seen how Allah wafteth the clouds, then gathereth them, then maketh them layers, and thou seest the rain come forth from between them; He sendeth down from the heaven mountains wherein is hail, and smiteth therewith whom He will, and averteth it from whom He will. The flashing of His lightning all but snatcheth away the sight
وَتَرَى ٱلۡجِبَالَ تَحۡسَبُهَا جَامِدَةࣰ وَهِیَ تَمُرُّ مَرَّ ٱلسَّحَابِۚ صُنۡعَ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّذِیۤ أَتۡقَنَ كُلَّ شَیۡءٍۚ إِنَّهُۥ خَبِیرُۢ بِمَا تَفۡعَلُونَ ٨٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And you see the mountains, thinking them rigid, while they will pass as the passing of clouds. [It is] the work of Allah , who perfected all things. Indeed, He is Acquainted with that which you do
Abdel Haleem:
You will see the mountains and think they are firmly fixed, but they will float away like clouds: this is the handiwork of God who has perfected all things. He is fully aware of what you do
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
And thou seest the hills thou deemest solid flying with the flight of clouds: the doing of Allah Who perfecteth all things. Lo! He is Informed of what ye do
The Cow 2:164
Noun
إِنَّ فِی خَلۡقِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَ ٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَٱخۡتِلَـٰفِ ٱلَّیۡلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ وَٱلۡفُلۡكِ ٱلَّتِی تَجۡرِی فِی ٱلۡبَحۡرِ بِمَا یَنفَعُ ٱلنَّاسَ وَمَاۤ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ مِن مَّاۤءࣲ فَأَحۡیَا بِهِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِهَا وَبَثَّ فِیهَا مِن كُلِّ دَاۤبَّةࣲ وَتَصۡرِیفِ ٱلرِّیَـٰحِ وَٱلسَّحَابِ ٱلۡمُسَخَّرِ بَیۡنَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ لَءَایَـٰتࣲ لِّقَوۡمࣲ یَعۡقِلُونَ ١٦٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and earth, and the alternation of the night and the day, and the [great] ships which sail through the sea with that which benefits people, and what Allah has sent down from the heavens of rain, giving life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness and dispersing therein every [kind of] moving creature, and [His] directing of the winds and the clouds controlled between the heaven and the earth are signs for a people who use reason

In the creation of the heavens and earth; in the alternation of night and day; in the ships that sail the seas with goods for people; in the water which God sends down from the sky to give life to the earth when it has been barren, scattering all kinds of creatures over it; in the changing of the winds and clouds that run their appointed courses between the sky and earth: there are signs in all these for those who use their minds
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Lo! In the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the difference of night and day, and the ships which run upon the sea with that which is of use to men, and the water which Allah sendeth down from the sky, thereby reviving the earth after its death, and dispersing all kinds of beasts therein, and (in) the ordinance of the winds, and the clouds obedient between heaven and earth: are signs (of Allah's Sovereignty) for people who have sense
ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِی یُرۡسِلُ ٱلرِّیَـٰحَ فَتُثِیرُ سَحَابࣰا فَیَبۡسُطُهُۥ فِی ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ كَیۡفَ یَشَاۤءُ وَیَجۡعَلُهُۥ كِسَفࣰا فَتَرَى ٱلۡوَدۡقَ یَخۡرُجُ مِنۡ خِلَـٰلِهِۦۖ فَإِذَاۤ أَصَابَ بِهِۦ مَن یَشَاۤءُ مِنۡ عِبَادِهِۦۤ إِذَا هُمۡ یَسۡتَبۡشِرُونَ ٤٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
It is Allah who sends the winds, and they stir the clouds and spread them in the sky however He wills, and He makes them fragments so you see the rain emerge from within them. And when He causes it to fall upon whom He wills of His servants, immediately they rejoic
Abdel Haleem:
It is God who sends out the winds; they stir up the clouds; He spreads them over the skies as He pleases; He makes them break up and you see the rain falling from them. See how they rejoice when He makes it fall upon whichever of His servants He wishes
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
Allah is He Who sendeth the winds so that they raise clouds, and spreadeth them along the sky as pleaseth Him, and causeth them to break and thou seest the rain downpouring from within them. And when He maketh it to fall on whom He will of His bondmen, lo! they rejoice
وَٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِیۤ أَرۡسَلَ ٱلرِّیَـٰحَ فَتُثِیرُ سَحَابࣰا فَسُقۡنَـٰهُ إِلَىٰ بَلَدࣲ مَّیِّتࣲ فَأَحۡیَیۡنَا بِهِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِهَاۚ كَذَ ٰلِكَ ٱلنُّشُورُ ٩
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And it is Allah who sends the winds, and they stir the clouds, and We drive them to a dead land and give life thereby to the earth after its lifelessness. Thus is the resurrection
Abdel Haleem:
It is God who sends forth the winds; they raise up the clouds; We drive them to a dead land and with them revive the earth after its death: such will be the Resurrection
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
And Allah it is Who sendeth the winds and they raise a cloud; then We lead it unto a dead land and revive therewith the earth after its death. Such is the Resurrection
وَإِن یَرَوۡا۟ كِسۡفࣰا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَاۤءِ سَاقِطࣰا یَقُولُوا۟ سَحَابࣱ مَّرۡكُومࣱ ٤٤
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And if they were to see a fragment from the sky falling, they would say, "[It is merely] clouds heaped up."
Abdel Haleem:
Even if they saw a piece of heaven falling down on them, they would say, ‘Just a heap of clouds,’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
And if they were to see a fragment of the heaven falling, they would say: A heap of clouds
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِی یُرۡسِلُ ٱلرِّیَـٰحَ بُشۡرَۢا بَیۡنَ یَدَیۡ رَحۡمَتِهِۦۖ حَتَّىٰۤ إِذَاۤ أَقَلَّتۡ سَحَابࣰا ثِقَالࣰا سُقۡنَـٰهُ لِبَلَدࣲ مَّیِّتࣲ فَأَنزَلۡنَا بِهِ ٱلۡمَاۤءَ فَأَخۡرَجۡنَا بِهِۦ مِن كُلِّ ٱلثَّمَرَ ٰتِۚ كَذَ ٰلِكَ نُخۡرِجُ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَذَكَّرُونَ ٥٧
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy until, when they have carried heavy rainclouds, We drive them to a dead land and We send down rain therein and bring forth thereby [some] of all the fruits. Thus will We bring forth the dead; perhaps you may be reminded
Abdel Haleem:
It is God who sends the winds, bearing good news of His coming grace, and when they have gathered up the heavy clouds, We drive them to a dead land where We cause rain to fall, bringing out all kinds of crops, just as We shall bring out the dead. Will you not reflect
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
And He it is Who sendeth the winds as tidings heralding His mercy, till, when they bear a cloud heavy (with rain), We lead it to a dead land, and then cause water to descend thereon and thereby bring forth fruits of every kind. Thus bring We forth the dead. Haply ye may remember

إِذِ ٱلۡأَغۡلَـٰلُ فِیۤ أَعۡنَـٰقِهِمۡ وَٱلسَّلَـٰسِلُ یُسۡحَبُونَ ٧١
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
When the shackles are around their necks and the chains; they will be dragge
Abdel Haleem:
when, with iron collars and chains around their necks, they are dragge
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
When carcans are about their necks and chains. They are dragge
The Moon 54:48
Verb
یَوۡمَ یُسۡحَبُونَ فِی ٱلنَّارِ عَلَىٰ وُجُوهِهِمۡ ذُوقُوا۟ مَسَّ سَقَرَ ٤٨
Umm Muhammad (Sahih International):
The Day they are dragged into the Fire on their faces [it will be said], "Taste the touch of Saqar."
Abdel Haleem:
on the Day when they are dragged on their faces in Hell. ‘Feel the touch of Hell.’
Muhammad Marmaduke Pickthall:
On the day when they are dragged into the Fire upon their faces (it is said unto them): Feel the touch of hell
